    I love the quick edit at 18:20 where you forgot to put the trigger guard release spring in the right orientation and then suddenly it's fine... lol.

    I bought the whole kit for mine... trigger, trigger guard, spring, the new extended mag release, and screws. Do it all at once since you are taking it apart. You won't be sorry. All the pieces are top notch and fit perfect. Oh and watch that darn safety spring and pin, it will pop across the room on you in a heartbeat.

    I have a couple pointers that helped me.
    1.) I rotated the trigger arm and spring to fit them instead of fighting the spring.
    2.) Once I set the assembly, I hand-tightened the pins on the flat face (not ejection face) to "lock in" the setup due to the mag release making me take the handle back apart. Everything here was more than helpful, and we both achieved the same end. Thanks for the vid!

      The kits worked awesome and lowered my trigger pull weight from 7.5-8 pounds to 5-6 pounds. Perfect! The target trigger greatly improved the entire feel of the rifle and screw upgrade rounds out the mods professionally.

    Thanks for the video. I understand the reduction in the pull (due to weaker replacement springs) But some people alledge that this kit also fixes the creep (the factory trigger has some nasty creep). If this claim is true, then how did you manage to implement this without changing the shape of the spring(s) - or have you changed the shape?

I didn't see the 20% off code until after I purchased but after seeing you guys are vets and a small American owned business I'm more than happy to pay full price! You guys rock. I can't wait to see what you guys got coming for the sub2k. Trying to make mine into something I can really trust with quality parts that's why I bought mcarbo! I'd like to see a comparison vid between the older gen2 front sight and the newer one. Not sure which one I have but would like to see the difference. Also, any hints on what you guys are working on other than the trigger bar? Thanks again brothers!

      everything was pretty easy thanks to your install videos. until the shaving of the polymer frame for the trigger portion. the area that was recommended to shave did not work for mine. mine was actually a hump on the side wall near the point suggested by mcarbo. i legit had to disassemble/reassemble close to 10 times. it got to a point where i wasnt even reassembling the crossbolt safety because it was such a pain. i just held it in place sans c clips and retention pin. my new mcarbo trigger started out completely dead, then had a positive trigger pull with dead reset. then had a positive trigger pull with hanging reset and now its positive trigger pull with positive reset. went out and shot it on saturday and about 100 rounds went bang every time. will order from you again in the future!

    Excellent video. However, the camera is pretty far away from the actual installation of the small parts. The target trigger video has the camera close-up at the proper distance. I had to refer back and forth between the two videos to see an accurate illustration of the parts relationship during reassembly.

    • @MCARBO
      @MCARBO  8 лет назад +1

      Thanks for the feedback. We will keep camera distance in mind for all future videos. We've noticed that more shooters have preferred the camera distance on the target trigger video. Thanks again.

    After installing the spring kit, the pull is much better but on the reset it seems kinda weak is this to be expected?

  • @markgman4157
    @markgman4157 7 лет назад +1

    I just installed the combo kit; spring kit, trigger, and guard. I also installed the screws and rubber grip. The videos were very good, but be careful with those receiver pins. I jimmied one up. I guess they're probably aluminum. Fortunately all parts are available from Kel Tec (if not the hardware store).
    The MCARBO parts are a nice cost effective upgrade for the S2K. The trigger and guard are solid and the spring kit (plus trigger) improve the weight and feel of the pull significantly without sinking a lot of change into a budget gun. The SK2 is not worth sinking a lot of cash into IMO.

    • @markgman4157
      @markgman4157 7 лет назад

      Oh, the other thing that happened is that as I was working on the gun a small metal piece showed up on my table from who knows where. It took me awhile to figure out what it was. On the top of the receiver is an upper feed ramp pinched in between the two haves of the receiver. It can fall out during disassembly. I assume the rounded end goes toward the butt in order to deflect the round down toward the barrel..

    • @markgman4157
      @markgman4157 7 лет назад +1

      I was a little ambivalent about the spring/trigger upgrades at first. My trigger return was very weak and would stick sometimes. However, after working the action a number of times it is now working perfectly. Not sure what the hang up was but the action is now night and day improved.

    Great video. Here are my concerns: I ordered my Gen2, 6 weeks ago, I was #11 on the waiting list, I am now #3. I'm spending X $'s on this new carbine. I really do not want to say use the punch and jack up the ring that you tapped to loosen up or just make a slip and scratch the Gen2 or say I try to remove the safety, that nib/detent is under tension from the spring. If I am not careful BAM, or should I say Boingggggggg, that nib will take off like a rocket and I end up not finding it. I believe I can do this but that ring may really be locked in (lock nut glue) and then I'm forced to really hammer on the punch.
    One other point, am I missing something here? I never saw you remove the old plastic trigger and inserted the new one? I don't think a strap wrench (which I do not own) will do the job
    ThankX

    Great. Now how do I get rid of the massive take up? I like ZERO take up. I would prefer the trigger broke EARLIER in the travel too. Basically move everything mechanical forward.
    This means modifying the trigger bar somehow. WHY dont you guys offer a custom trigger BAR that takes care of all that?

    • @MCARBO
      @MCARBO  8 лет назад +1

      Hi Dave, thanks for the feedback and idea. We recognize the good amount of take up/ pre travel that exists on the SUB-2000. We're in the process of making a trigger bar to eliminate pre travel. I'm glad you want a solution for the take up. Keep an eye on our channel for its new release.

    • @deplorabledave1048

      MCARBO
      Thanks for the quick, kind reply! :)
      I did not really want a Sub 2000 until I saw all your products for it. They are all so needed. I LOVE your trigger guard. That is one beautiful piece of work that happens to be highly practical and IMO necessary.
      Since I am an armorer I figured I could install some sort of set screw since making or modifying the trigger bar is outside of my purview....no machine shop :(
      But that is not what I want. I DO want a new trigger bar!
      I have big hands and long fingers. A new trigger bar properly designed would start the sear travel earlier in the trigger's travel. The break would ALSO come earlier which is much more ergonomic and gives less finger cramping over extended range time. That is EXACTLY what I want!
      The sub 2000 continues to sell OVER MRSP for 9mm Glock models. So there will still be a strong demand for quality custom items such as you make.
      While I have your attention, I have one more request which I think you may also be considering. Flat triggers. Flat triggers are beginning to outstrip curved triggers in popularity. I personally will NOT use a curved trigger. You can find flat bows for Glocks. CZ Evos and yes even the Sub 2000.
      I prefer to buy ALL my products from just one source such as yourself.
      So...why dont you consider making a trigger like THIS?:
      www.amazon.com/Kel-Tec-2000-Wicked-Trigger/dp/B01JF74NCY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1473602886&sr=8-1&keywords=Kel+Tec+Sub+2000+%22Wicked%22+Trigger
      I cant WAIT to see your trigger bar. And of course the accompanying installation video. Your videos are so well made and pleasant to watch. Professionally done and they illustrate your passion and enthusiasm for designing and making your product as good looking and good working as possible. Keep on doing what you are doing.
      I cant tell you how much I love your products and positive attitude. "Merica!

      Hi Dave,
      Thank you for your appreciation and support! It's really motivating to hear this sort of positive feedback. It lets us know were on the right track and making a big impact. I can't thank you enough for the support and encouragement. I''m happy we motivated you to get a SUB-2000! We've got a lot of new parts in the making for the SUB2K. I've had a few requests so far for flat/straight triggers and I think we should make one. So I'll say it now Yes, expect a flat trigger from us in the next couple months! Thanks again for your positive attitude and support! If you have any additional input on what you would like to see in a flat trigger send me an email: chris@mcarbo.com

      There are such amazing good people out there such as yourselves. It makes me wonder why the left thinks we are all evil demons. Life is such a mystery. Isnt it?

    Your site advertises "Reduce your trigger pull from a stock 9-10lbs to a modified 4.75lbs", but your video proves this is not the case at all.

    This is probably the most rushed installation video ive seen you guys make. Had plenty of issues throughout the process following along with the video. Bummer.
