Hello everyone. I’m Mr. D and welcome to my English learning channel. In a previous video, we introduced pronouns and briefly mentioned the seven types of pronouns. In this video we are going to dive deeper into personal pronouns.
Just a quick recap, personal pronouns are pronouns we use when referring to nouns in the telling part of a sentence. We use them when referring to objects, animals, and people. We decide which personal pronouns we use depending on who we are talking about. Let's look into that.
There are three types of personal pronouns that we use. They are:
    First-person pronouns, second-person pronouns, and third-person pronouns.
First-person pronouns are pronouns used when referring to yourself. They include the singular pronouns: Me, mine, my, and I, along with the plural pronouns: Us, our, ours, and we.
You can use first-person pronouns when referring to yourself, or a group that includes you.
Let’s look at a few examples.
    I like to eat apples.
We are going for a walk.
    This apple is mine.
Second person pronouns refer to the “other” person. We can say second-person pronouns are used when talking about “you”. They include the pronouns: you, your, and yours. These pronouns can be used in both singular and plural forms.
    Let’s look at some examples.
I need to talk to you.
    Are these yours?
    Can I use your phone?
The final type of personal pronouns we have is third-person pronouns. We use them when referring to someone or something that is neither you, or I. They include the singular pronouns: it, its, she, her, hers, he, him, and his. And the plural pronouns: They, their, theirs, and them.
    Some examples are.
    They are driving.
    It is their dog.
    I saw them outside.
Comment some examples of your own to test your understanding!
That’s it for this video. If you learned something about pronouns, why not hit the like button to show your support. See you again next time!
