I did the exact same thing I switched from the 13 pro max to the 13 mini and been sticking with the mini ever since. Appreciate the small phone factor with a powerful processor.
Awesome video. I think you are very wise. I think so much of us have gotten caught up in thinking we need this big battery to make it all day long and we have to be on our phones constantly. I had the iPhone 12 mini and the battery truly was terrible on it. I upgraded to the 13 Pro, and could not adjust to the size or weight of the phone. I switched to the 13 mini and have never been happier. It gave me the better battery the 12 mini didn’t offer. I personally like having a phone that I know exactly how much battery life I have and I use it as a tool and it’s perfect for me.
I switch to the iPhone 13 mini because I was tired of being told by cell phone carriers and cell phone manufacturers that I needed the biggest phone option. The mini does everything most people need. The smaller form factor is so nice compared to the big bricks everyone is brainwashed into getting. Too bad that the mini has been discontinued after the 13.
I got the 13 mini yesterday, and to be honest, it is still just as good holding it as the owner of it as when I tried out a demo unit at my carrier’s store. Sure, this phone is going to be the favourite of the mainstream, but for me swearing for small smartphones until either of us’ last breath (until either I die or the compact smartphone form factor dies out), with the ASUS Zenfone 9 being the ONLY compact phone released in 2022, but that is WAAAAAAY more expensive and it is not available at my carrier. I just love the fact that I was able to type this comment on it with a comfortable grip on my tiny phone. Having it been updated to iOS 16, this is the phone I want to use until it dies (or app support starts getting axed on the last version of iOS this phone would receive, which is either version 20 or 21). After this phone either dies or gets horribly obsolete, I will legit get a brick Nokia, I can already see ASUS cancelling their normal, non-Flip Zenfones in the future.
I’ve been using the Mini for almost a year now and love the Mini. I’m a little sad it’s likely not going to be in the lineup anymore. I’m actually considering replacing my current Mini with a new Mini before the iPhone 14 releases. That way I’ve got a fresh phone and battery to last me a few years before I have to get a bigger phone again. Fingers crossed the Mini just becomes the new SE in the future.
wait... are you replacing from 12 mini to 13 mini? or 13 mini to a new 13 mini again? Because I have currently bought 13 mini 2 weeks ago.... Im still trying to get opinions about the battery health, how was it holding up after almost a year from its release
I did the same switch back in June . I was sick of carrying around a brick in my pocket. I’m super happy with the switch, but there’s times I really wish I had my 13 promax back
Did the same and ditched the 13 pro max! Life is a lot better with the mini! It’s practical, powerful, a real one hand phone and on top of this you enjoy changing covers with any thickness…Too bad we won’t see minis serie anymore!
I so agree with you! No regrets here after using samsung galaxy note phones, the only iphone that made me switch from android to ios is the iphone 13 mini. I love it. Great review by the way.. New subscriber here
I've done exactly the same. I use the 13 mini day to day as just found my 13 Pro Max too big and heavy. It suits running around after a three year old when I am not at work due to one handed ease! If I am going on a trip (not often) or camera heavy day I tend to swap back to my 13 Pro Max. It seems ridiculous to have both but after using the 13 mini I got for my wife I loved it. People also forget you get nearly the same screen usage as a 8+ bar aspect ratio. Mainly grabbed mini at same time as it will be the last mini as a SE version be stripped back hardware.
I think the mini is a little small and the regular a little too big. 5.8" is the sweet spot for me with a width between 67 and 69 mm. They should have at least 3000 mah battery, sd card slot, and aux input and it would be perfect.
I just switched my SIM card from my 13 pro max to my 13 mini last week. I don’t regret it at all. I love that it fits in my pocket now and it isn’t an issue when I put it on my motorcycle. I just wish the camera was a tiny bit better after coming from the larger pro. The size of the phone is great though
This "bigifying" trend in phones reminds me of how pickups and SUVs also became beastial and 'uuge, which has made me crave old small Toyota pickups from the 90s.
Congrats you took the best decision ! I did almost the same but i was on the 13 Pro, with best settings you can get even better SOT ! I combined the 13 Mini with an iPad Mini 6 and it's the best combo ever :)
I want the green 13 mini so bad, but I feel like my 13 pro provides the best middle ground for me. I will probably snatch one up as secondary phone when the price goes down. I also bought a cellular iPad mini 6, and it is the first tablet that I purchased that leaves the house with me on a regular basis… super portable, comfortable to use and charges fairly quick.
I’m currently on the 12 pro max and i have been looking at the 13 mini also. Main reason is one handed use. I do love the pro max. I think the regular pro is the best middle ground. I’m still undecided .i dont see myself buying a 14 because of price, but I also said i was gonna stick with my iPhone X and i ended up getting the pro max LoL
I just love the simplicity of this device. With a regular iPhone 13 or 13 pro max you've a bigger screen, which for most people is just a waste of space that you probably don't need in my opinion. Great review
I’m about to buy a new iPhone and I’m obviously holding out to see what the iPhone 14 range looks like but unless I’m ABSOLUTELY bowled over by anything in the 14 range I think I’m going to grab an iPhone 13 mini (assuming they’re still on sale for another year). If the price drops, then even better.
I have had my 13 Mini for about a week now and I absolutely love it. I did come from an SE 2020. I have always been a flagship phone owner, the SE was the first non-flagship phone I had. I used to always have the best HTC Evo's and later the HTC 10. I really don't like how phones are getting bigger. If I wanted to use a tablet as my phone, I would.. The 13 Mini is the perfect size. It's physically smaller than my SE, but the display is larger. Not to mention the fact that its OLED. The battery life is also great, even with me running iOS 16.1 Beta on it.
I have a 13 Mini and a 14 Plus,,, after a few weeks with the 14 Plus I went back to my 13 Mini as my daily driver. My 14 Plus will be now be used only as a home based camera.
Tbh I got a 13 pro max and I want to switch to get a regular 13,plus I like having a small phone for now.So that’s what I’m gonna do until the 15 comes out next year I’m just gonna switch to a regular 13 for now.
Ive never been a fan of large phones. I jumped on the mini 12 from the 7 when it released and couldn’t be happier. I have it paired with air pod pros and a 11’’ iPad Pro. If i need a larger screen to do something or take a longer than usual FaceTime call i just switch over too the iPad. I may upgrade to the mini 13 later this year.
My right hand was smashed in a work accident. I am right handed and can no longer use my right hand to navigate my phone. I spent a lot of time trying to get my left hand used to using my phone. I originally used a Samsung plus and then ultra phones because of better camera. They were just too big! My left hand never got comfortable using them. I currently am using the 3rd gen SE. I would’ve rather had the 13 mini but finances kept me from it. But I love like you said I can have a comfortable phone and have flagship specs thanks to iPhone. I mean the camera on the se doesn’t compare to the the 13 line but is still really decent! Also I definitely wouldn’t get 7 hours sot. I will definitely switch to the mini when I’m able for the benefits, I don’t regret going to a smaller phone. I totally understand why you would want to. Love your videos, keep them coming!
iPhone 13 mini: the neglected child. 😭 I still don’t get why it gets very dragged, it’s an awesome phone, in my opinion, the best option! Like, I’m getting all the good stuff the 13 series has but at a similar price to the 12’s and/or 11’s. Yes please! Love it so much 💜
@@JSLReview I will be buying after the price drops ie after 14series launch As it is already 915usd where I live And I m now collecting money for that.
I heard the mini doesn't do wireless charging. I have a phone holder in my that does wireless charging but my current phone doesn't do wireless charging either so that's annoying. I also heard the mini gets hot faster and the battery life wasn't so great. These are 2 things I probably care about equally to wanting a mini phone.
13 mini has MagSafe compatibility so can definitely wireless charge. Overall battery life is ok for moderate users, not ideal for power users. Hope this helps!
A personal preferences is a personal preferences is a personal preference. Love that apple has different models for people to choose from. I love my 13 pro max for playing Genshin impact.
I really like the form factor of the mini. I have the regular 13 Pro for size. If I didn’t play mobile games a lot at work 😂, I would want the mini. Since I do tho it’s just too small to see enough detail and my fingers would be in the way.
I actually just switched from being a 12 year loyal Samsung Epic and Samsung Galaxy owner. I own a Galaxy 3 Watch and Galaxy Buds Pro. My wife got me a Samsung S20 FE but I cant stand it's size. It's a 2 handed phone. I'm waiting for my IPhone 13 Mini. It's supposed to arrive tomorrow.
I have the 12 pro max and I plan to switch to the 13 pro. The max is too heavy, and honestly the bigger screen isn’t bettering my eyes. My eyes seem to focus better on the 6.1 screen, and comfortably too. I really want a gold one
I am going to buy a 13 Mini instead of going to the 14 model. I am pretty sure apple is going to be stupid and end the mini. They should have made a mini PRO and seen how many they sold. I have the 13 Pro and it's simply too heavy. I do love the cameras etc but I think the 13 Mini is good enough for what I use it for. I wish Apple would have stayed at 5.8" screen that the first X had. THAT was the perfect size and could be a tick smaller than the original 10 (X) because of bezels getting even smaller.
I changed to 13 mini from iPhone 11 and I’m very happy with it. I probably use it less for reading, but I think it’s just a plus not spending so much time on my phone. For reading long articles I now prefer my iPad.
I'm using the 13 mini and that's the best phone I had and I wish I'll be able to replace it with another mini 3-4 years from now (I'm considering buying another one so I'll have a backup for the down the road in case Apple won't return manufacturing it)
I have the 13 mini in starlight and I’ve never been able to tell a difference, except when I go on my sisters iphone 13 in red, because of the size obviously. Other then that, there’s really no flaws
iPhone 14 is better choice , as it has upgraded cameras, Bluetooth 5.3 and better battery. Plus it will get updates for another year. If you didn’t have a phone. Would you get the iPhone 14 or 13 Mini?
The difference is so small id still go with the mini because of the form factor and save the money, unless your going from regular to pro its not much difference
If the sand battery replaces the lithium ion battery, the mini phones make become popular again the future. Sand batteries can at least last 3X longer than current lithium ion of size and capacity. It is more resistance to battery exploding than current lithium ion. For example 7 hours screen on time will be 21 hours on sand battery technology.
Weirdly I’ve been considering moving to a mini in an attempt to use my phone less! I’m genuinely thinking about getting one if the prices come down enough after the new 14 models are released.
I have an old iPad Air2 for RUclips and want to get a 13mini for my phone. I want something smaller but capable for daily use and can use the iPad indoors for videos
Its not a phone that I would prefer year round, but I think it is a great secondary device. I have a pro and pro max and prefer to leave the max at home because it pulls my pants down and swings around in my shorts pocket too much. I wouldn’t mind the mini for those occasions.
The iPhone 13 mini really dies quickly for me, and I suppose it’s because I’m such a power user. I really enjoy the macro zoom on the iPhone 13 pro max being able to get that close to an object is really cool! I guess if you aren’t always on your phone the 13 mini is perfect

The smaller form factor is so nice compared to the big bricks everyone is brainwashed into getting. Too bad that the mini has been discontinued after the 13.
Mini is the best product apple has designed since iphone5. I am even thinking of getting a spare one in case it wont ever be released again. 😢😢😢
Why replace your current Mini? You could just replace the battery, which would do the same thing for a lot cheaper.
wait... are you replacing from 12 mini to 13 mini? or 13 mini to a new 13 mini again? Because I have currently bought 13 mini 2 weeks ago.... Im still trying to get opinions about the battery health, how was it holding up after almost a year from its release
I did the same switch back in June . I was sick of carrying around a brick in my pocket. I’m super happy with the switch, but there’s times I really wish I had my 13 promax back
Did the same and ditched the 13 pro max! Life is a lot better with the mini! It’s practical, powerful, a real one hand phone and on top of this you enjoy changing covers with any thickness…Too bad we won’t see minis serie anymore!
i have a 13 mini 256 gigs for about 4 months and i have to say that this is the best phone ever created !
Every time I saw the name iPhone 13 mini, love react ❤️❤️❤️ always!
I so agree with you! No regrets here after using samsung galaxy note phones, the only iphone that made me switch from android to ios is the iphone 13 mini. I love it. Great review by the way.. New subscriber here
I’ve currently got iPhone 12 Pro,and seriously thinking of switching to 13 mini next month
The 6.1 inch is the best option for size, and with the Pro you get promotion.
I went from 12 Pro to 13 Mini recently and love it. Ain’t never going back to a larger phone. It’s the perfect size.
Good choice, i went from the 13 Pro to the 13 Mini as well, the best decision I ever made
The advantage of having an iphone 13 mini is, no matter how big the cases you used, it still feels comfortable in your hands.
As someone who doesn’t want to carry a small tv around in my pocket the 13 mini is perfect for me.
I agree. I just wish the battery lasted longer on the mini. The firm factor is perfect.
This "bigifying" trend in phones reminds me of how pickups and SUVs also became beastial and 'uuge, which has made me crave old small Toyota pickups from the 90s.
I loved the mini, just missed the camera on the 13 pro. That was the only reason I switched back
Congrats you took the best decision !
I’m getting the 14 pro max but I’ve been using the 11 pro max for the last 3 years 🤣 Doesn’t seem that worth an upgrade if you already have a 12.
I am thinking about switching from iphone 13 pro to 13 mini

I actually went from the 13 pro max to the 13 mini recently, I’m glad I did, the pros outweigh the cons for me personally 👍🏻
I have a 13 Mini and a 14 Plus,,, after a few weeks with the 14 Plus I went back to my 13 Mini as my daily driver.
My 14 Plus will be now be used only as a home based camera.
I’m not sure what to do. Got a 13 mini, but want to sell it and buy a regular 13.
I love the usability and comfort of the mini. I made the same move. I just wish it had all the pro features….it would then be my perfect device
Waiting for the iPhone 14 comes out . . So that the iPhone 13 mini price comes down 😊
I’m fine and happy with my 13 mini ☺️ when I’m home anyways, I drop the phone and just use my iPad for entertainment
I still don’t get why it gets very dragged, it’s an awesome phone, in my opinion, the best option! Like, I’m getting all the good stuff the 13 series has but at a similar price to the 12’s and/or 11’s. Yes please! Love it so much 💜
you confirmed my purchase, i love you my man !!
Haha glad it was helpful, let me know what you think once you get your hands on the phone!
@@JSLReview I will be buying after the price drops ie after 14series launch
As it is already 915usd where I live
And I m now collecting money for that.
Genuinely iPhone 12/13mini are the most comfortable iPhones since the early Apple days. This is an EXCELLENT device.
Waiting for mini (5.4 inch) flagship phones in Android system too! Also waiting for iPhone 14 Mini!
There’s no 14 mini anymore
Agreed ,,,Perfect size. Miss my Xs
Great content. I have a XR and I seriously consider a 12 mini or 13 mini
It’s been 7 months I’m using i phone 13 mini. So far the most comfortable i phone I’ve ever used.
A mini pro wouldn't work, it would be too small for all the parts
I suggest growing stronger 💪🏽
Great choice! I’m super interested in your long term review of the 13 mini.
Keep an eye out a month from now!
I love my 13 mini. No regrets. Hopefully they will re-think the mini and make a mini pro in the future.

@@Sara-tu6sg Sure! Can I also give you my credit card number and ID?
The mini is pretty straining on my eyes because it’s small. Loved it when I first got it though.
I never watch tech videos but your sister mentioned you. Great video that I didn't know I needed.
Appreciate you stopping by, thanks for the kind words and for supporting my sister!
I have the 13 mini in starlight and I’ve never been able to tell a difference, except when I go on my sisters iphone 13 in red, because of the size obviously. Other then that, there’s really no flaws
When the eyesight goes bad when you’re Old man like me It’s impossible to use small screen. The pro max is perfect given the size of text.
Just switched from 12 pro to 13 mini and woah it really is better in my small hand, i should’ve switched earliet
I have a Mini 12. I love it. I’m sure you’ll love the 13 Mini. Besides it can fit In Your front pocket without worrying about it falling out!!

13 mini is a great device tbh; I use it as my daily driver.
I switched from 12 mini to 14 pro and yes a larger size screen jump but a week of getting used to it……yeah I’m going for the max 😭
Great video, I thought you were using the iPhone 13 pro as your preferred size. Didn’t know you switched to the pro max.
Haha I was until my wife took it and never returned it….
@@JSLReview I guess it will be a hard decision when the new iPhone comes out since no mini anymore as per the rumors.
which one better for video or vlogging?
I went from the 11 pro max to the 13 pro - one of the reasons see if hand fatigue reduced……totally gone!
Now that it is $599 I went ahead and got the mini. I love it.
The perfect size was the 11 Pro 5.8 inches, not too big and not too small it was ideal!
iPhone 14 is better choice , as it has upgraded cameras, Bluetooth 5.3 and better battery. Plus it will get updates for another year. If you didn’t have a phone. Would you get the iPhone 14 or 13 Mini?
The difference is so small id still go with the mini because of the form factor and save the money, unless your going from regular to pro its not much difference
Ohh 😫 if apple make someday iPhone mini PRO !!! That’s my dream
I just bought my iPhone 13 mini like 3 weeks ago and I haven’t looked back. I should’ve done this earlier
Do you think the iPhone 13 mini is a good upgrade from an 11 pro? I have battery anxiety. would i be hugging the charger if I made the switch?
The iPhone 13 mini really dies quickly for me, and I suppose it’s because I’m such a power user. I really enjoy the macro zoom on the iPhone 13 pro max being able to get that close to an object is really cool! I guess if you aren’t always on your phone the 13 mini is perfect
