I am SUPER curious about this and I wish you would try it Chris. This is regarding Container size. I had some 7 photoperiods in my garden in a maybe 2 Gallon container and they grow way too big because i wasn't even in the graden. One of the plants had this occur: It was sitting in a pot with bio bizz light mix (fresh) ontop of soil directly next to a kind of pine tree where pines constantly littered the ground. I noticed one day when I did decide to transplant them into the actual ground from the pots that this plant was the only one not flowering and you could not move it from it's place because the roots actually went through the holes in the pot into the soil. This was my biggest plant of the bunch and also flowered way later. I assume the others all had that transplant shock. But having a plant have roots in 2 different soils at once might be beneficial was the thing I took away from it... especially if it has different p.h. levels there might be different nutrient availability. For some info Rainwater watered them when i was not there and well water with like 8.5 p.h. or something when i was there and biobizz lightmix starts at 6.5 p.h. iirc.

The reason autos go to flower under stress is an effort by the plant to complete it's life cycle before it dies. It has to produce flowers to attract pollen and create seeds so it can reproduce. The quick full growth cycle is what really sold me on Auto's. I don't really agree with what some say, that they're great for beginners. Most new growers are guilty of over watering and over feeding, I definitely was/kinda still are. Doing research and learning about something before you do it is always a good idea. The subreddits are full of nothing but people asking questions they should've known the answers to before they every thought about putting a seed in the dirt. A new grower posted a pic of a plant in full on flower mode, asking if it was a male...There's an endless amount of free information on the internet about cannabis cultivation from guerilla growing to full scale commercial operations. Doesn't matter if it's illegal where you live or not, unless your country is being ran by a dictator then I guess it would be sketchy. Don't worry though, the police aren't monitoring your internet activity.
10 gallon fabric pots in 4 inch deep tray, in each 2x4 space I get a yield of around 14 ounces or better. Either photo or auto. Auto just do it faster. Purple lemonade and gorilla cookokie autos. Germinating some fast flowering purple lemonade and tropicanna cookies from fast buds. 84F and 45% humdity and the buds are so thick and stacked.
Also one advice I got from the book "teaming with microbes" by Jeff Lowenfels and Wayne Lewis. mycorrhizae won't harm the germination process, so u can rub the seeds in spores just before u plant them. The earlier the contact of the tap root and the spores , the better the symbiotic effects will be. I had success in soaking the seeds 12h and then planting them in the container. right before droping them in the soil I sprinkle a bit of that spores in the small hole, and after the seed another sprinkle on top. Didn't hurt the process and I think it benefited it. Also it is much more economic than mixing the product in the soil in the first place, because u need much less material. some mycorrhizal fungi can not survive without their host plant. Some can, by decaying organic material until they find a root that is within their targeted symbionts . Just to be sure I would make sure that the root is in direct contact of the spores without losing much time.
@@eshepley personally while your point is clear, once you get to quality, what would naturally make one plant better quality than the other in the same strain would be yield.
As a auto grower and breeder i use 1gal nursery pots with a plant saucer and i get an average of 3 zips per plant and this is with fox farm ocean forest i have gotten almost 8oz from a few with this setup. I can fit 6 min in my 2x4 its packed but works well. Also the more airy ur soil/medium is the faster it drys and also wont hold the water/nutrient solution in the medium so more feeding/watering. Also dli is king with autos ive had cameras setup to film the day and with higher light levels u will see the plants slightly wilt or look heavy so 18/6 20/4 or 24 lights on can be a waste but u have to know what ur looking at and u need to dial in the light as well as nutrition or u will run into problems.
I use some DTE nutrients in living soil in Earthboxes like neemseed meal, kelp meal, and alfalfa meal. The rest I buy from the local Mennonite feed/seed store like oyster shells, crabmeal, and even corn/barley/safflower seeds to sprout and grind up.

Nice video, i grow autos only and i think they are at leat even now with photos if not better for some growers. they are faster and we are only allowed to grow 3 plants, so it gives me the opportunity to grow and test more strains. i do this because the lack of knowledge about how the strains tastes or at least which direction they have. i dont have the time to grow slow growing strains. If i count grams per year, they are at least even with photos, if you get good genetics like fastbuds. greetings from germany 💚💚💚
I learned to not let the auto stay in the cup you start it in 2 long or else it gets stunted. 2 week veg is sometimes not enough. I've had a for plant reap about an ounce and at another time the same strain grow into a monster and give me ounces. Pretty wild stuff these autos. Still my favorite only cause they grow so dang fast.
What is the reason, outside of personal belief, that a 12/12 light cycle is bad for autoflowers? I have seen an increase in the rate of flower development when I moved an autoflower to a 12/12 cycle to see what the additional darkness would do. The yield was slightly decreased but the flower quality increased.
That was a great episodes! It got me worried about my outdoor grow though now. It’s been mid to high 80’s for the past 5 days but it’s going to be sitting around mid to high 70’s. Hopefully I’m not stunting them. 🤔
I may be speaking the obvious but no matter what you are growing in pots or containers, from tomatoes to lettuce, one has to have watering down. Soils have basically three parameters that one has to understand. 1. Saturation point 2. Field Capacity which is the percentage of water that is left an hour after you have watered no matte how much water you give your plants 3. Wilting point which is as the name implies the point where your plants wilt. All potting soils have different parameters and many are very similar numbers but find out what your soil does. For an example if one uses Kings Mix. I know that the Field Capacity is around 40% and I know the wilting point is 10%. Soooo.... I make sure that the soils stays between 20% and 40% . I try not to saturate beyond 40% and will water when the soil gets to be 25%. Monitoring soil water is easily done with a cheap garden meter that has a long probe. The ones with the mechanical dial work extremely well and I have used an accurate digital and have found that the garden meter is does a very good job. One thing that watering to a target zone does is that it make sure that you have a constant flow of nutrients however you grow whether it be organically or using high end synthetics. Using this strategy I have plants that fill the entire pot with white, healthy roots at harvest.
I accidentally pollinated an auto gorilla glue with a male ice cream kush, most of the seeds id consider long autos taking about 11 weeks to finish. But some are reg photoperiod and some are reg autos.... some are like gg and some are like ice cream and some are a mix....😊
I want to grow it in a 7g pot. I don't know what effects different media depths have on a grow. Which works/looks better for a 7g pot? wxh 30cmx38cm wxh 40cmx21cm (maybe this is easier, lesser effort to water all the way down)
I can just agree, as a German newbie Autoflowers (yes from Fastbuds) do not disapoint me so far ^^ just some LST and otherwise watch them grow under the window^^

Sebastian is the best fast buds have great autoflower in Europa
Nice ❤ beste combo … greatings from germany
10 gallon fabric pots in 4 inch deep tray, in each 2x4 space I get a yield of around 14 ounces or better. Either photo or auto. Auto just do it faster. Purple lemonade and gorilla cookokie autos. Germinating some fast flowering purple lemonade and tropicanna cookies from fast buds. 84F and 45% humdity and the buds are so thick and stacked.
Thanks to Sebastian and yourself for that episode.
Sebastian is a good dude love that guy
My fastest fast Buds Auto was Jack herer in 8 weeks. 20% amber !
I don’t grow autos(have tried and got punched in the mouth when I was new trying to grow them) but watching to support the channel!
Here’s a crazy idea. Focus on quality, not quantity. I grow for myself. I don’t need a pound per plant or anything close. Just great quality.
@devinej8411 what nutrients did you use?
My favorites.... Chris, Sebastian and Fast Buds

Hi Sebastian, it would be interesting to hear your living soil recipes and schedules.
On weak 5 of my zkittles n strawberry banana by fast buds everything is looking great so far!
Thanks for this vid Chris I’m currently growing my first autos outdoors and I started in solo cup size pots expecting to transplant lmao I’m about two weeks in so I hope it’s not to late to transplant w/out stress🤞🏾
And don't forget-It's 420 somewhere!
I learned something today. Thanks!
Great show (as per the usual) Sebastian is a great dude. Keep krushing Chris
Thanks Chris, guest was great and i had fun listening to a German say Wuderalis a bunch😂🎉❤
I'm partial to photoperiod because then I can dictate when it flowers and grow whatever size plant I want. I suppose autos are good for quicker finish but I prefer the control of photoperiod
Jus' gotta to say love the channel and appreciate all you do Mr Grow it. We (the weedtube community) can't say that enough. Amazing interview grower's Love !
Great interview as always Chris.. Sebastian as always a lot of fantastic info! 👊👊💪💪
I've tried probably 15 FB strains. My fav is orange sherbert. Not tried the new gen yet though.
Awesome episode guys.. thanks Chris and Sebastian…. Awesome info!!
Yes excellent talk on Auto's I really enjoyed this video thanks chris for bringing on another good
Grower!👍💛
I've been all in with Cannabis since 2004
I ran 5 mephesto in small containers in a 2 x 3 and got qp of bud. Bought 3 more packs different strain and none germinated. Got 3 night owls to pop dirt but was deformed. Put 5 fastbud gorilla punch in water, next day tails, planted, next day all came up but one now its up and they look healthy a great. Ordering more. Is it better to use seed bank or can i order straight from 420?
Big up to Seb!!! Love that dude!!!! (Chris love you too bro) 😎💚👍
Fantastic show and interview on this one!
Im on my second grow doing 3 mephistos wedding autos. First grow was pretty bad but this ones going better so far.

I'm glad you had SeaBass on, he's a cool dude
That was a great episodes! It got me worried about my outdoor grow though now. It’s been mid to high 80’s for the past 5 days but it’s going to be sitting around mid to high 70’s.
Hopefully I’m not stunting them. 🤔
I may be speaking the obvious but no matter what you are growing in pots or containers, from tomatoes to lettuce, one has to have watering down.
Soils have basically three parameters that one has to understand.
1. Saturation point
2. Field Capacity which is the percentage of water that is left an hour after you have watered no matte how much water you give your plants
3. Wilting point which is as the name implies the point where your plants wilt.
All potting soils have different parameters and many are very similar numbers but find out what your soil does. For an example if one uses
Kings Mix.
The ones with the mechanical dial work extremely well
and I have used an accurate digital and have found that the garden meter is does a very good job.
One thing that watering to a target zone does is that it make sure that you have a constant flow of nutrients however you grow whether it be organically or
using high end synthetics. Using this strategy I have plants that fill the entire pot with white, healthy roots at harvest.
As I've always said, bigger the route bowl, the bigger fruit bowl you need.
Autos really like organic soils but getting the aeration figured out is tricky.
Appreciate ya's, safe travels Sébastien ✌️💚
I accidentally pollinated an auto gorilla glue with a male ice cream kush, most of the seeds id consider long autos taking about 11 weeks to finish. But some are reg photoperiod and some are reg autos.... some are like gg and some are like ice cream and some are a mix....😊
Chris I'm a long time fan and I need your help diagnosing a problem
My 420fast (sounds like a Vin Diesel movie) seeds are shipped! Blackberry on the way!!! Excellent content btw
Pigeons squirming in his chair right now. Lol . Autos are cool to watch go but have yet to smoke one that I’m like “damn, I need this”
Enjoyed this i love fast buds autos great video
Sebastian is the man 🔥
❤love this stuff
I want to grow it in a 7g pot.
I don't know what effects different media depths have on a grow.
Which works/looks better for a 7g pot?
wxh 30cmx38cm
wxh 40cmx21cm (maybe this is easier, lesser effort to water all the way down)
love your content, greetings from germany
Another banger!!! Sebastian is an amazing man and very in tune with our community!!🫡🫡
I was wondering if you spray silica on your plants or feed it through your medium?
Would love to know many "You Know" there was💚 top guys
I’ve had great results with autos, when I did not stunt them. I’ve also transplanted late, causing a stunt, resulting in small plants. 👍🏼
Growing a apple strudel from fastbuds in a grow peaceful bucket/soil with only raw silica and fish shit and so far its killing it..day 21.
I grow autos outdoors. I still add lights from 6am-9am and 6pm to 9pm
Gracias... Good history lesson
Reasons for Autos: - cold Temps and/or - high humidity. Both you can fight with an 18/6 cycle much better.
Tropicana cookies and Zwarberries in flower now! Both Auto Cup winners😮
I learned so much!
I can just agree, as a German newbie Autoflowers (yes from Fastbuds) do not disapoint me so far ^^ just some LST and otherwise watch them grow under the window^^
Meine 2 Amnesia Zkittles und 2 Strawberriez füllen mein 60x60 schon nach Woche 4 😅😂 bin gespannt ob die noch groß stretchen nach dem vielen LST
Great my next runs will be Fast Buds Genetics 😀👌🏼
If I started an auto on 12/12, can I switch it over to 18/6 without stressing it too much???
Also ive noticed that autos generally produce better hash rosin especially from flower
