It's been turned into a decent rifle towards the end of its service career. Hard to imagine the British Armed Forces using it much beyond 2025; and forget about new builds.
Isn’t it kind of dangerous to just leave a rifle pointing down range while you walk down? I know it’s highly unlikely a round in the chamber would misfire but still safety first
When unloading the weapon, the cocking handle is pulled to the rear and the chamber, bolt face and body is inspected. If no round is present, press down the bolt release catch, safety off and fire the weapon with no rounds. Safety back on. It is dangerous if the weapon was in a loaded/semi loaded state, Likewise if an NSP is not carried out. excuse my mistakes if a made any (im a cadet.)
Bright camo in northern europe why? I imagine these guys beeing the brightest things in a forest not to mention autumn/winter/early spring when european forests are all kinds of black, dark grey and brown. And why all the heavy gear in an indoor range zeroing guns?
They are in full kiit because that is how they will use their weapon in combat and how it needs to be zeroed and what they need to be used to, they are training so the instructor calls a different area like the bottom or top or center of the dimond and they will then shoot a group, adjust the zero for that point of aim and go again then have a different zero called
It blends in almost anywhere. In desert it gets dusty and looks like sandy scrub. In wet woodland it gets darker and starts to be unobtrusive. In urban environments it becomes strangely grey and indistinct. It’s a good camouflage pattern.
So the Brits "zero" their rifles as quickly as possible shooting short distances indoors from a prone position and the rifle pointing uphill. Well, that's one way to do it. Do the iron sights get zeroed too in case the "SUSAT" fails? Oops, my bad. I guess they don't have any iron sights for backup. And the procedure is basically shoot a group, check the target, adjust the "optic" and shoot again? Instead of shoot, adjust, shoot, adjust etc? Does that "optic" not have enough magnification or a clear enough image to see bullet strikes from the firing line indoors at close range like that?
Chad Meyer are you aware that th I is just a rifle zeroing session ? we do this pre ranges to makemsure our rifkes are truly accurate. Out of curiosity have you ever served ? you will probably say yes even though you haven't, easy to lie on the internet see.
They are training in how to zero the rifle.. the instructor will call different target areas in and around the dimond and you practice zeroing in on that spot, after each group set another POA will be called and adjusted for
I get your joke but keep in mind the rifle is made for long range precision combat so prone with bipod and scope is what they'll be doing 99% of the time in the field as well as that, they're zeroing they're rifles so they need to be as accurate as humanly possible
@@luigiwoo4469 Not really, on the field people don't have time to aim with a bipod, unless you are the one with a light machine gun or precision rifle but even that, it really depends and they often shoot with the bipod retracted for quick snap shots and maneuverability purposes. Shooting blindly on top of the cover happens a lot even if not really tolerated by manual of arms.

jerick cristobal-orola Um wrong... Pretty much all of the internals were replaced on the A2 by HK, as well as some exterior parts like the charging handle, bolt release and trigger. So HK basically built the A2 from the ground up again just using the SA80’s chassis. Yes the Picatinny rail was done by Daniel defence but pretty much all the rest was HK. The A3 is again done by HK.

Still better than the AR33 😉😉

yes
Depends if u want FR or controllability and dmg.
Ar33 is fun
Ok... muzzle flash is so minimal that in a fairly dimly lit room it is invisible? What am i missing here

Fuckin RAF ref 1:51 What sort of forward assist is that?
Zyrenixx gotta get the thumb in there 😂
just use the canadian m4 variant sas will tell you why
oi m8 wots this poppycock mi mag done fell out mi rifle innit
The troopers firing the rifle should be able to "zero" the rifle themselves, after all they will need to do so at some stage when in combat.
I use this in army cadets
You use the l98 variation which is slightly different this is the l85a2
I use this on Rainbow 6 Siege
and i cant believe we still use the shit susat change to acog for fuck sake
We use the ELCAN 1-4x with a trijicon rmr on top for the optic

Jehffo It’s called MTP, Multi-terrain-pattern.. the lighting in that room will make them stand out also,
MTP works best in Autumn, winter and early spring specifically because its grey, dark etc.

Why are the Brits stuck in 1991? Stop it. Just get some help.
You can say the same for the Americans then.
Why use an AR 15 platform from the 1960s.
Or better yet. Why use Tilting Barrels? What we in? 1911?
