A nicely done piece of work. I don't know what your racing background was but, you forgot a critical piece...the foot brace. There was plenty of room, perhaps this oversite has been corrected by this time.
Just discovered your channel and I’m hooked. ME dropout sadly because of health issues but I’ve always had a love for the design and development of cars so this is like my ultimate channel. Question about the brake bias setup. Does the balance bar/bearing setup just act as a pivot to change the load based on its proximity to the separate cylinders? Thanks
Great video, how do you determine the pedal motion?, I am building a pedal box for a formula SAE car, I decided to use a 6:1 pedal ratio but I am not sure if the pedal motion will be confortable for the driver
Wouldn't this type of cylinder mounting require there to be a nice amount of mechanical compliance for it to actually work? Seems like the rotational motion of the pedals won't fit very well to the linear motion of the cylinders when they're rigidly mounted on one side.
ThomsenMotorsport thank you! P.S. I really really like how you do your videos. It helps someone who struggles to finish projects feel as if I've completed something. Keep it up!
Thanks. I watched a video the other day which I think described how I kept myself going on this project. It's not about being "motivated" to complete the project, motivation can come and go and if you rely on it things will fall apart when its at a low point - and low points are sure to come on projects like this. Discipline finishes projects, making yourself keep working when the motivation isn't there.
Thanks Simon. I think these videos will be a great help
Nice neat work on the pedalbox. They are similar to the ones in my off roader. Just upside down.
Enjoying your videos mate.
i'm re-watching all your vids at 0.75 speed. you sound drunk but i can soak up more info :)
Great video !!!
Great mate, respect!

The mount in the car's chassis had a front plate which served as the foot brace for me. No adjustability but it did work perfectly (for me at least).
Was there any reason for going with 2 brake masters witha somewhat complex adjustment mechanism over one master and an adjustable distribution block?
Nice design! Just curious, what's the thickness on that sheet metal?

Thanks. That's correct on the brake bais, a simple but effective system.

Hey do you have the CAD files for these? I'm building a formula 600 car and I need all the help I can get.
Thank you
Email me at thomsenmotorracing@gmail.com
I'm also intrested for cad files to build straight copy of these.
Petteri Kulmala what racing do you do?
Nothing professional, just a hobby car on ice track in winters.
Petteri Kulmala sweet! Did Simon get back to you yet with the pedal box cad files?

The master cylinder has a ball-in-cup thing on the end of the actuator rod. So it can take the slight deflection without any problem.
Thanks for such a quick response! Thats good to hear, explains a lot :)
I envy your skills.
Where did you connect the throttle cable? Above or bellow the pivot point?
Above. About half way up the pedal.
Pedal box CAD files?
may i have the cad files for the pedal box? please?
Hey what is the actual song name that you used? Doesn't really help when the only thing you cite is a site with thousands of songs to search through.
The song name for this was "Dress Code Black 3" by Niklas Ahlström.

ThomsenMotorsport That's a really good point. Thanks!
You really painted the pedal box? That's just a waste of paint
If I didn't have some sort of protective coating it would just become rusty. I've painted all steel parts for that reason even if they can't be seen.
ThomsenMotorsport that's a great point. Didn't even think of that.
