What does “writing a picnic” mean. I’ve never heard that phrase. I know what a literal and metaphorical picnic is, but to write one?

I was confused about that too

"Writing a Picnic Address" or a "Picnic Speech" was something often done before eating at a picnic lunch or celebration, i.e., 4th of July, visiting Royal or Dignitary.

@sams3015 It's a very old fashioned expression and custom. Americans used to give short speeches before eating picnics. Now, we only typically do it for official ceremonies.

She tells women to talk about abuse then precedes to refuse to talk about it. What a disgrace!

Anne is 400 year old with her only living son being disabled. Money she does not need.

I mean they obviously don’t mind as she mentioned Queen Camilla and was invited to the coronation. Also she grew up and knew these people.

Yes, but so would I in the circumstances. All these landed gentry types are cash poor, living in huge crumbling mansions with nothing in the larder or the bank. They used to call it 'genteel poverty'. She deserves a medal. I really like her.
