Just read that it was common for the upper classes to take their virgin wives to brothels to watch others have sex, so they knew what to do on their wedding night. There was no porn back then and ladies did not ask mummy or nanny what sex was like. I bet a lot of ladies were expected not to know about sex so I guess a lot of them pretended as to not bruise the fragile male ego. It was basically the porno version of 'mansplaining'. ‘Very kind’ - that’s so twee. Love it!!
And one of the funniest bits is when Helena Bonham Carter creases up at her saying "We went to the Louvre or something.... I was frightfully bored by that." Only the aristocracy can be so unashamedly philistine as that. Brilliant.

What made me think twice is that I thought it wasn't being done since the early 20th century.
I have read some books/stories that some newly wed couples during or around 18th to 19th century go to this brothels or (as she said "seedy" hotels) and look at couples making love. It was always because they wanted to show the bride/wife of what will happen on their honeymoon.

I will never stop advocating for Mr. Norton to host the Oscars: well-known among the Hollywood crowd and edgy-funny without being downright rude (unlike Ricky Gervais). Now, I like Jimmy Kimmel but let's give him a rest.
