      @@gesoocreesto6374 How about the last 20 years? For years and years NVIDIA flagship GPUs were usually priced $500-$650 at launch. That was until AMD decided to stop existing in the high-end performance segment, after which NVIDIA could then charge whatever they want, starting with the Kepler titan. Now considering how little financial/manufacturing horsepower RTG has, they are more than willing for NVIDIA to go first and set up the pricing structure that they can just slot into.
      Also, anyone who points to inflation (or anything else from the universal set of pandemic excuses really) to explain a 400% price hike of GeForce flagships is just playing into exactly what these corporations want people to believe as they continue to pay more for less irrespective before this even became a factor.

    I'm still amazed at the pricing of this generation. I picked up a Radeon 5700 (non-XT) for (way) less than $300 just before the release of the 30xx series. Flashing an XT vbios and a good overclock with slight undervolt, I'm getting 3060 rasterization performance at half the price. I think the pricing on the next generation is going to be stupid insane since its already been demonstrated people will pay too much for a GPU.

    While the 3070Ti is just a small bump in specs over the 3070, the 3070Ti is the top bin of GA104 silicon, so most (not all) of them overclock very well, if you're into that kind of stuff. Stock performance may seem a bit underwhelming, but they have a lot of potential. Need good cooling though, I'm somewhat regretting getting a FE 3070Ti, it draws a lot of power and would really need a bigger cooler for overclocking.

    • @yungnachty4474
      @yungnachty4474 2 года назад +18

      Yep, I dropped a 3070ti into a water cooling set up and I gained like 12% performance over a stock one at 350W. That puts it within spitting distance of a stock 3080 for 100 less MSRP. Can also just drop it into a larger custom air cooling set up that uses a copper modded gpu. The 3070ti also has 6X VRAM which is much faster than the 6 found in the normal 3070. So if you are an esports nerd like me, its actually a very solid GPU because that extra VRAM helps load frames into the GPU much faster(thinking like 1080p low 500+ fps) and also lets you get much more fps in higher resolutions like 1440p and stops the card from getting bottlenecked by vram.

    I was able to pick up a 6700xt from amd for mrsp a few weeks ago before they cut them for the 6750 and honestly id say go for a 6700xt it has the 12gb vram , which is more futureproof than the 3060ti-3070s 8 gb, as games are starting to require much more and will continue too. a rtx 3060ti has less performance than the rx 6700xt and they both have nearly the same power draw of 200 watts. nvidia does have better raytracing and dlss but amd is catching up with both in driver updates, not to mention the rx 6700xt today you can find for mrsp or under on newegg at 490 usd while the rtx 3060ti you can find at 560 if you're lucky or more normally 650-750 usd. no brainer for me.

    Thanks for such a great video, Ali. A suggestion for future price-comparison videos: when reviewing benchmarks with bar charts, what if right under each individual bar that measures average FPS you had a price-to-performance rating that was just FPS divided by dollars to get frames-per-dollar (and maybe had that value for each currency you look at)? Visualizing how much bang for your buck a given card has would be great.

    I did some digging on the current RTX cards and found that the 3070 is the most effeicient, while the 3070Ti drops of hard because of the high power draw of the GDDR6X memory. I did not look into AMD cards tough, would be interested.

    Since i got my cards at msrp and flipped a few PANIC sellers gpus for a nice profit. My upgrade methodology will follow my previous EFFORT/s. I still want a 4k gpu...but given the amount of gaming ive done on my system since q4 2020 ive never advised a marked up gpu purchase or a forced/coerced aspect towards upgrading. Theres a right time(based on panel/monitor specs/gaming genre) and a wrong time so to speak. Realistically i could have been fine with one of the 5700xt's i had found for 300$, i just never gave up on my ethics/intent towards owning a big navi/ampere gpu etc. Or a system that would play every game on maxed on my screens. Given the 999$ price of the 48" c1 and the large entry price point of the 42" c2. I expect the first FEASIBLE price cut to the C2 tvs....to come q4 2022 or around the holiday buying season ripe with these new GPU launches and platforms. Ultimately ill spend my 30s as a gamer on racing sims and a DD wheel. Ive more or less worked towards a departure from multiplayer shooters. Coming home from work to jump into a shooter/session for some hours etc....the older you get just becomes lack luster even if you want to still game/be a gamer. Where progress/skill development etc on racing sims really jumps as an appeal these days. Now that adaptive sync is getting better and better with each year g-sync is growing to be a larger gimmick or playing/paying for a "FAST REFRESH" QHD panel...like "WEVE" played by majroity games like warzone/cs:go/valorant etc....and TBH a 240hz QHD panel is just SO far out of PRACTICAL including price point...let alone ideal/image quality for sub max HZ fps ranges... Or AAA games/PVE maxed out games....as THERE still is a "LARGE" demographic "STUCK" with a methodology of building a new pc or a departure from very old/older builds....into this ERA...solely to play "FREE" games like warzone/apex/cs/valorant/siege etc.....on said 500$ screens with said 500$+ gpus...i see these trends as largely alarming....as indie games or MMO etc try to cut into THIS. I honestly cant justify a 2000$ build and "Expensive" monitor to play with these kiddos and generally toxic individuals...lotta investment/work to come home to that "LIFESTYLE" But to each their own....im not surprised DD wheels and sim racing has grown in popularity over the years myself. I played a lot more pve/hunter call of the wild and hack n slashers with my new build on 21:9 than "multiplayer shooters"....GIven the inherent advantage of TN panels for shooters with true GTG 1ms response times....or GPU software color profiles for higher vibrance/contrast for competitive advantage....we still have this STIGMA that a "FLAGSHIP" must be fast/response(MPRT on IPS UTTER JOKE) and COLOR accurate...yet this IRONY is just too much to cover. Same to ppl typically running games like warzone on LOW for more fps/advantage/frame time latency improvement. It really waters down the "REQUIREMENT" for a BIG new gpu...or a "ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES" qhd monitor.

The 3060 Ti is barely better than the 6650 XT, especially at 1080p, yet the 6650 XT can be had for almost 30% less than the 3060 Ti. You can not find the 3060 Ti for under $600, and as soon as you think you do, some scalper buys it and sells it for $600. Stop buying from scalpers folks.
