I really love the charcoal sketch over graphite . In graphite you already begins from shape and outlines then you go for shades. But in charcoal, its like an art taking birth just like statue makers.....and at the end wow.,..,🔥❤️
Yes, I love the way like sculpting.
"Glad to find the same name of a artist as mine"
This is why blocking is important, kids. Big shapes first. Get the light source right and the rest will follow. Sometimes a single stroke can define a feature by itself. Charcoal is the best.
hello. i know you uploaded this video 4 years ago, but i wanted to let you know that this is truly an inspiration, and personally, it influences me to don't lose my love for drawing. you have an incredible technique, and incredible patience, which all artists should have. really good video, very relaxing too. have a great day and be safe !!
I admire this artis technique, how she rescues the light out of the black shadow
I love when you use your finger as a soft eraser..
I enjoy the process as well
Simply beautiful, just to see the face emerge from the shadows and forms. Thank you Zin!
Very good
Left eye not same as right
So therapeutic to watch the face unfold!
Thank you for this!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love the way this is done. Never tried charcoal,
Really nice! I was Hypnotized watching you draw.
Sensitively beautiful, the face comes to life so magically.
When the drawing first got started I could not figure how a portrait could be made out of that mess. What a wonderful finish!
Momma Bear i find it funnier to start like that than with a perfect sketch
Very challenged drawing. Super. THANKS.🌺🌷
Thank you! Cheers!
Sir you are not only a great painter you are a real artist!!!

I love such skill you have with charlcoal is awesome. Filling calm while watching, thanks for such superb work.
Nice painting. Fantastic art, . Congratulations
Love your work
Thank you!
Zin, this is cool. I have been contemplating using charcoal to draw portraits but haven't found the time nor the guts. But am impressed with the potential of charcoal as a medium for drawing lovely and eye catching portraits. This looks like a very patient approach but it is worth trying. Thanks again for sharing your gift, am inspired.
Thanks. What I like about charcoal is that there are many similarity in application of oil painting.
Thanks for the reply Zin. I have not tried oil paint but will do someday. Here in my country, we don't seem to have compressed charcoal sold in art stores. however, we do have charcoal pencils especially from china. Will try the medium and explore its potential. Looks like doing portraits in chacoal requires one to have a kneadable eraser to get better results. Are in china or korea?
I use willow charcoal mostly, rarely use compressed charcoal. You will enjoy the similarity of charcoal and oil approach.
I originally from Seoul, Korea and live in San Francisco.
That’s talent. Incredible. Thanks for sharing
You are beautifull. Love you who ever you are. GOD BLESS YOU.
HOLA ,,,te voy a mandar mi primer creacion ,,,,gracias, saludos desde Costa Rica

Hi
@Mal i
Mal hey could you explain to me how is he clearing that charcoal the way he does with his finger? Is it the quality of the charcoal or the paper? Or is he using something on his fingers? I’m a beginner so I’m extremely baffled at this point. Lol
Greatt work👍

I have a unique reference photo of my friends I want to draw but the quality of the photo is so blurry u can only make out the value not too much detail think I’ll have to try something like this. Almost similar to oil painting🤔
I'm so glad she/he isn't talking, just drawing... Talking youtubers can be annoying and distracting
Zannie Samuel they aren't, if you don't like it then don't watch them lol
@@daisies667 I'm entitled to my opinion. Are you bored? Or you just feel like commenting on someone else's opinion that doesn't concern you in any way. "Lol"
impressive
love your technique ❤️
