Really appreciate the anti pollution filter tip. Just bought mine second hand and its been driving me insane, followed your advice and the car is purring like a kitten.
17:50 Just a correction Ad-Blue is not a type of Kerosene - it is about 1/3rd Urea and 2/3rds water. Urea is a naturally occuring comound found in urine similar to Ammonia but manufactured synthetically for motor use
Its the DPF that gets blocked hence the big drive-thrash for it to re-gen. best way is to remove it and gut the cat convertor off the turbo, blank EGR off then get the ECU remapped to delete DPF,EGR,makes a big difference to the power and torque figures and no re-gens needed
Nice review mate I have the tbi 159 1.75 in black I love it .Although the m32 GM gearboxes can be knotty and not the greatest Only 109 registered in the UK of the TBI which I think is better than the version you are reviewing.Regards from England .
I got a black Ti Tbi last September (2022), been great so far, it's been re-mapped to 240bhp so goes well, gearbox is notchy as you say and i have stick movement in 1st and 5th so the box will need work soon, fantastic thing though, just fitted a set of Quadrofoglio wheels to it which look amazing. Greetings from Scotland.
The problem i had with the 159 was the engine range, i really didn't want a Diesel, with the Petrols the 1.8 is underpowered, 1750Tbi is rare (and carries a premium), the 2.2 has potential, expensive timing chain issues and the 3.2 has the same chain issues plus has a heavy road tax premium here in the UK. I ended up just digging deep and getting a 2010 1750 Tbi Ti which has been brilliant so far, heavy on fuel, low 20mpg local and high 20's on a run wouldn't suit some but i don't mind as i don't do big miles. It's a gorgeous thing and i'll be keeping it a while.
I insisted to a petrol engine until the last moment, and then I tried a 2.4jtdm manual and I bought it anyway. It's not all that sporty but somehow fits the character of the car. It's not a petrol engine but the 5 cylinder gives a nice tone. And it has tons of torque. And the 30mpg is really good for an almost 1700kg car with a 2.4L engine. But the taxes are rather high on it here in middle europe
Lovely cars. Except for the transmission you have my car exactly. Ti and colour the same. For the sake of the beauty you live with the quirks. It's a bit of a lard arse but even so, in spite of the FWD, it's a surprisingly good drive. Thanks for the video.
We've all seen many beautiful cars but the 159 is more than beautiful, it's elegant. Good review, thanks for sharing.

Why is this video so underrated
Excellent, informative review, thank you 🙏
I like the cat !!!😄 Interesting car choice , lots of Audi and BMW here so the Alfa stands out. Thanks for the review.

That's great to hear! Over the years I have picked up many hacks for fixing cars and will be posting more soon. Cheers, Daz.
great review, in depth!

Thanks for the heads up. Cheers, Daz.
I was just about to write something very similar

The diesels are the best, powerful, and economical.

How is the car holding up? Any problems with the engine? Cylinder head? Thank you
The car was sold about 9 months ago, but I saw it the other day and it is still running well.
Looks like a fashion model. Sounds like a trades ute. 😀
