I was 9 years old and this cup run was when I really started following what we were doing, just watched the interview with Ron celebrating 30 years so thought I'd watch the 90 for the 500th time 😂
Great upload from a man united supporter. Was in the ground sat on them awful tractor seats for this game. Forgot what a strong team Villa had and almost pipped us to the league title only a year prior under a great manager big ron. What i’d give to relive those games with all them big characters. RIP to Les Sealey and Dalian Atkinson.
@@adamdrewry5254 yeh man nice to see some decency amongst comment sections in an era of keyboard warriors giving it the massive one behind safety of their screens haha
Can’t believe this is 25 years ago... great game, great atmosphere and a superb performance by villa, ruined our treble but Atkinson got his tactics spot on. Loved that United kit.
Treble really is League, FAC & Euro Cup. League Cup tho entertaining & you got better matches than FAC I feel wasn't THEE treble but yes a domestic treble.
Villa fan memory: I remember pulling up at the traffic lights near Wembley and a car pulled up along side us full of united fans with one of them standing up through the sunroof. He started chanting at us 'do you know the way to Wembley' How I would have loved to see that guy on our way back home haha
We got off the coach on Wembley way to have a quick slash behind a hedge only to be told by the old bill to either put it away or we'd miss the match - me mate pissed on one of the coppers shoes I recall, happy days hey. That UTD team were on for four cups that season and I think they only won one
My all time favourite Villa goal by Dalian Atkinson. I was 11 years old, couldn't afford to be there but watching at home as the ball rolled over the line....
I listened to this in our car as a 9 yr old on the way back from Plymouth with my mom and her fella, a great memory and neither of them liked football so glad I got to hear it.
thanks for uploading this good quality video, it was a great game, Villa had a very good team back then and I am a red fan and glad villa won this one, and I cant believe Aston villa declined that much in footyball, a club with such history and won trophies including the European cup in 1981 should not be where it is now, hope you guys come back like before in the early 80's.
How the feck could anybody DOWNVOTE a video of a full match, a classic cup final from the 1990's that somebody took the time and effort to upload? Twats. Well done uploader.
This was I believe the final year in which clubs played full strength teams in this competition. Great day out which will live long in the memory. Thank you for the upload.
Man U did the double over Villa in the Premiership but lost in the Coca Cola Cup Final whilst Chelsea did a double on Utd in the league but lost to them in the FA Cup Final
This is getting me pumped for the new season. We have go for a cup this season. I was 10 when I watched this as a kid. This started my love for the club. 28 year's later. Hasn't changed.
I remember getting home knackered and a bit the worse for wear but absolutely ecstatic. I immediately rewound the VHS and watched it from start to finish. I thought the commentary was biased towards Man Utd. Re-watching now, I was right. The pair of them were desperate for United to win. Jack Charlton even mentioned it at half time.
18/06/2019. I'm watching this for the first time. Fan--bloody--tastic. British football at it's best. Gutsy, dramatic, action packed skillful. a MANS sport, without all the fake injuries and dirty tricks. No wonder our matches were the choice to watch, all over the world. All the fresh faced, and talented guys, back from history, that I had forgotten about. For it's age, This is a first rate recording, every minute shown. Some of the reporting was questionable. Brian Moore's show of anger, because the ref did his job right, and kept to the rules of the game., was pathetic and ridiculous. There was no doubt what-so-ever, that Kanchelski 's hand ball was deliberate , in full view, and right on the line. never mind how naice, the guy is, or how excellent a player, he no doubt was , he was a pro, and Rules are Rules.
Exactly, well said. I can tell you it was a pleasure to be there, Travelled up from Cornwall to get my ticket in Kingstanding ( & god bless them whom got me that Steven Underhill / Chris Salt) down to Wembley in the morning. I could barely speak after the game 😁✌👌👍☝️

Wow, great performance from AV coming from a red fan. If Bosnich doesn't make that save from Hughes, totally different game. Bozza an unfairly maligned talent, though much of it self-inflicted.
Man U weren't interested in this cup or FAC come to that, only the Prem league & European cup where the money is. They put out the reserves mainly & if got to the semis they'd put first team out. Saying that the reserves were as good as many first teams. But this is the reason that the FA cup & this one became just a pain to Alex Ferguson & thus led to the demise of the FAC as the greatest cup to win. Thanks Alex.
We're on our way back 🤞👌☝️ We need former players, the likes of Dublin, Merson & Micah Richards, to stop doing us down with their shocking negativity !

It did look suspicious to me he was murdered alright.
it is more than fair that an outfield player who stops a goal from happening with a handball receives a red card
Villa well deserved that win. We still ended up with the double that year though.
