We picked up an 09 700 sport last year. What a riot, used it this year for ripping around on the property. You can hardly even find these out in the NW..
I love my 07 rhino 660R perfect speed and climbs hills better then these new ones. Hell my top speed on my rhino is 45 without a modified or aftermarket CDI box
The 09 rhinos are keepers, certainly not machines you wanna get rid of. Stock speed should be over 40mph, not to mention you could take the time and swap in an R1 motor in there :) but it probably wouldnt be as trail happy with an R1 engine haha. Love your video driving this 700.
I found a 2008 rhino 700 special edition, the guys asking $5900, has 251 hours, 2116 miles. One owner machine. Says he has a custom top for it, JBL stereo system, wheel spacers, upgraded seats, would this be a decent buy?
It would! At least around my parts. Rhino 700 with that kind of mileage are going for 7k+. Ask him if he did the reverse gear upgrade and if not offer him 5700 for it as it will need to be done at some point which is a full engine teardown and case split. But as shown with raging rhino it had 8k+ on it without the upgrade so don’t let that hold you back from getting it. It’s all on how it was rode that will determine how soon you’ll have to take care of that issue. All in all it’s a good deal and a great find!
That’s a heck of a deal! Greg paid 5k for this one with over 8k miles and most around here with two to three thousand miles go for over 7k. I would jump on that in half a heart beat! The only thing it should need is the reverse gear upgrade at some point.
Rhinos are still an awesome machine! Got a quick question for you as you seem to have good knowledge about these. I’ve got a 2009 700FI as well and recently it stopped recording the hours. It actually went backwards for a bit before stopping. Looked all over the Internet and no one seems to have a fix for this besides replacing the whole display. Any ideas? Love the channel. Keep up the sweet videos!
I’m by no means an expert when it comes to the electrical ends of machines by I think what you have found may be right in the the only fix would be to replace the display. I think it keeps track of the hours solely through that and not by any kind of external sensor. If I remember I’ll try to have Greg look in the service manual he has to see if the wiring diagram shows anything.
@@AppalachianMountainRiders ah ok. Thanks for the reply. That’s too bad. I was hoping there was some type of wire or sensor that I could check. I remember something about the newer Rhinos only keeping hours if the engine was running and not just the ignition being on.
Awesome! Can’t wait for more on this old war horse!
Look forward to the build also I'm Honda guy but the rhino is a good machine it's what popularized sxs

I’m looking at an 06 with less than 350 miles and 106 hours. Thank you for the heads up on what to look out for
Thanks for the videos bud. I just rebuilt my first 06 660. Never had one before, but it sure is fun.

@@AppalachianMountainRiders so my 05 660 has over 8k as well. Is it the miles that’s make the reverse wear out or using the reverse?
question, can the 450 be replaced with a 660 engine.?
I wonder the same thing for when my 450 sighs....lol
I have found a 2009 Rhino 700, with 148 original miles. Original owner machine. Very clean. $5200. Any thoughts?

That’s the best deal I’ve ever heard of. Buy it in a heartbeat.

I was never a fan of the big singles in the yamahas.
