    Congress would rather play partisan, backstabbing personal games than actually do the job they were elected for, representing their constituents. Most of the people in this country want the constant time switching to end one way or the other. Get off your lazy butts there in Washington and listen to us.

    The US had all-year DST at one point and people hated it so much that they ended it early. Standard time is tolerated far better by most people

    It's ridiculous to change the clocks

  • @RoadRunner592
    @RoadRunner592 11 месяцев назад +9

    It's 2024 now. I hope we continue to stay on standard time indefinitely. Businesses can simply alter their schedules during the summer to start and end a bit earlier to offset the 7:30 - 8pm June sunsets.
    DST is pointless. Why change the hour to appear later and force everyone to wake up an hour early?
    That isn't healthy at all, especially for people who hate waking up early to begin with.
    It should be a choice if you want to or not. The rest of us can simply wake up at our normal time. Standard time is astronomically the correct time. DST is a 15 degree longitudal (1 time zone) mismatch in the correct local time.

      Sorry to break it to you but clock changes will continue in 2024. DST will begin on March 10th and end on November 3rd. While many states are considering either permanent DST or permanent ST, no states enacted a change in 2023. Clock changes will continue this year.

    • @RoadRunner592

      @mannyhandy897 Well that sucks. Most of the people at my job actually start and work later in the day. We aren't morning people. Perhaps my boss can allow me to work 10 - 6 from mid March until the end of October. That would essentially nullify the time change effects until we ditch DST for good

    I'm glad it isn't going to be permanent.
    Where I live, this is what things are like now.
    Winter months::
    8:01 AM
    Thursday, December 21, 2023 (EST)
    5:05 PM
    Thursday, December 21, 2023 (EST)

    9:01 AM
    Thursday, December 21, 2023 (EST)
    6:05 PM
    Thursday, December 21, 2023 (EST)
    I don't know about the evenings, but 9:01 is too late for sunrise, imo.
    Summer months:
    5:58 AM
    Wednesday, June 21, 2023 (EDT)
    9:16 PM
    Wednesday, June 21, 2023 (EDT)
    If standard time was permanent: (which is what most people would rather have)
    4:58 AM
    Wednesday, June 21, 2023 (EDT)
    8:16 PM
    Wednesday, June 21, 2023 (EDT)
    I don't know about the evenings, but 4:58 is too early for sunrise, imo.
    I say stick to changing our clocks, even if it's a hassle. It's the only way to get the right amount of daylight in the mornings all year round. The only part of the world that shouldn't have to worry about that is everywhere closest to the equator.
