It's useful today. It takes an hour of sunlight that would be wasted because very few people are awake at the beginning of the day and moves it to the end. So instead of the Sun rising at like 5am and having a useless hour of daylight from 5-6 we get it at the end of the day when far more people are awake.
Yeah, they did this once before. People hated it. No one likes sending their kids off to school in the dead of night, or being at work an hour before the sun comes up. It's all bs. I stopped messing with my internal clock and I feel great my sleep patterns finally regulated and my gosh I'm a new person seriously. Your internal clock is massively more important than you realize. I wonder if the real reason for making us reset clocks is to deliberately keep our normal biorythms permanently out of sync? Creating problems like cloudy thoughts, keeping off balance. Sleep cycles permanently destroyed and were always tired. I stopped doing it and the change in everything improved especially sleep. It's not!! Worth it. Stop blowing up your internal locks you need them more than you know.
DST is garbage. Tbh we should do what China does: No DST, and 1 time zone for the whole country. The number on the clock is just that.. a number. Saying everyone has to get up around 6-8 is completely arbitrary. If we had 1 time zone, the entire country would be on the same time. So 10 p.m. would truly mean 10 p.m. and would be the same exact time, whether you are in LA or NYC or anywhere in between. Never again would you have to convert anything, and your schedule would not change at all. You would still get up in "the morning" and go to bed in "the evening" so it would not change your schedule at all, it would merely mean that "morning" in the West is a number three hours later than morning in the East.
Why don’t we simply adjust work hours for winter? Winter is made to hunker down in northern states. We’ve already found the 4 day work week is more productive, so businesses that haven’t adopted that model should provide less winter hours. At least knock an hour off.

It's useful today. It takes an hour of sunlight that would be wasted because very few people are awake at the beginning of the day and moves it to the end. So instead of the Sun rising at like 5am and having a useless hour of daylight from 5-6 we get it at the end of the day when far more people are awake.
Everyone is FIRED!
“What this story just said… …everyone is now dumber for listening to it…”
The country has tried it before
In 1974
I disagree. Historically we never had clocks. People rise with the Sun and fall with the night.
Tea has caffeine 😂😂😂😂
I’m tired of changing all my clocks around the house. Quit it already. Who cares! Alaska lives in the dark half the year.
But it’s actually helpful because it gets so dark out quick 😢
Yeah, they did this once before. People hated it. No one likes sending their kids off to school in the dead of night, or being at work an hour before the sun comes up. Accidents increased, including involving school children. It was repealed quickly. Fact is, if you are going to do anything, it should be to repeal Daylight Savings Time altogether, and stay on Standard Time. Yes, you would lose an hour of daylight in the evening during summer, but it would still be light at 8pm. You would avoid the pitch black commute for kids in the winter. It also lines up better to our natural clocks. Standard Time has been proven healthier.
End the madness!
It needs to end, it's nothing but a mind game the enemy plays like everything else. It screws up your life and sleep cycle.
This mist be a Democrat thing! As zoon as I heard that the Government was involved i knew...The Sunshine Act? Really?
But I’ll be going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark I start work at 6 AM and end work at 6:30 PM and it will be dark. I live in Florida.
Regardless of whether the clocks change or not, during the winter months, days naturally get shorter and nights get longer.
It's mostly hermits who love coming home to darkness and going to work in darkness
"Extra hour of sleep" sunlight wakes me up so it doesn't give me any.
Edit: mornin everyone from a unhappy and grumpy gal
Earlier nights can do harm mentally to people with Seasonal Affectionate Disorder, so why keep this dumb practice?
Lazy and money.
Stop, leave time alone, working 12 hour shifts this sucks. They started that to save candles.
I like fall back better. The sun shouldn't still be up at like 9 p.m. in summer.
Abolish it
Stop changing time
Or, you could show some personal responsibility and look up when it's going to happen and prepare yourself.
Other countries don’t do it
These dummys, you dont set an alarm to wake up at 2am and change your clocks. 2am is the official clock shift. You can change your clocks before bed, when you wake up, or if you dont have any clocks other than internet connected devices, you dont have to do anything at all.
Let's go ballot initiatives!
Get rid of daytime savings!
Daylight savings time is the equivalent to one person at a meeting asking a dozen people in the room to leave the room so that he can have a private conversation, only the guy he's planning on talking to doesn't want be in the room with him either 😂
Must’ve been a slow news day
Omg sun not rise til 9am... how terrible...😂
It takes an act of Congress to do it. Make it happen, America.
Another way to waste our taxpayer dollars
I don't mind the time change. Have people really thought this over. Your not going to like staying on standard time come summer.
This is not new. They have had the same report every year since I was a kid- I’m in my 30s.
Glad my state is not highlighted purple like the 20 states that want to make DST permanent. If Ohio, Kentucky, Delaware, Maine and Tennessee was orange like West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia plus other orange states that could be almost the whole eastern side that would want think standard time is best
Sorry, I’m in favor of standard times
Daylight savings time will come to the end on Sunday.
Sipping on tea? Doesn't tea have caffeine in it?
STANDARD TIME ONLY !!!
We have DST for the same reason we vote in November. Farmers.
I like daylight saving but at the same time when their more daylight I feel more safer and more seen at the evenings (for my opinion)
@@XboxRobloxPlayerGamer daylight savings time is what gives you more visibility in evenings
@@jayasmrmore3687 ???
@@jayasmrmore3687it’s fun when it happens in winter! It lets you know that Christmas is here!
@@jayasmrmore3687 It's crazy the amount of ppl who don't know this 😂. They think Daylight Savings is when it gets dark early 😂
Should have done this at the beginning of the year they don't they want to play games with your mind and your head by changing the times
Just leaving on daylight savings time and be done with it !how dumb are we?
We need to stay on WINTER TIME. Most of the developed world DOES NOT observe a form of daylight saving time.
If we stay on daylight savings time it’s harder to wake up
@@kobyschechter8163 either one. Just leave it alone. Stop switching.
@@jayasmrmore3687 either one is fine. Leave it as nature intended and stop the switching. IMO
@@kobyschechter8163 If it was all year it wouldn't really be "Daylight Saving" anymore, it would just be new time zone offsets
Hawaii stays on standard time. On Sundays during the NFL season games start around 7am.
You can't change the natural cycle of the Sun's migration. That's why times change in spring and fall.
Why don’t we simply adjust work hours for winter? Winter is made to hunker down in northern states. We’ve already found the 4 day work week is more productive, so businesses that haven’t adopted that model should provide less winter hours. At least knock an hour off.
I do sleep better on Fall Back as we work later gaining an extra hour of sleep since humans have a hard time waking up
@@FurthermoreJack Humans do not, by any measure, intrinsically have “a hard time waking up”. Humans, do, however, like many mammals, have an inherent circadian rhythm that’s based on a 24-hour day/night cycle. Nighttime light and noise interfere with this cycle. Similarly, the “daylight savings time” policies also interfere with this cycle.
Educate yourself. Think beyond yourself. Until you do that, you’re just volunteering to remain ignorant.
I love when it gets dark earlier tho
Why do we still have it Arizona doesn’t do it and I think there are other states
Here we go again. Wasting our taxs and getting done year after year. Please put an end to wasting our taxes.
Let it get dark when it gets dark
Everybody agrees to stop DST, but nobody agrees what time to follow once DST is stopped. Does it become permanent standard time? Does it become permanent summer time? Until there's a firm answer, DST will never go away.
DST is “summer time”
How about we compromise and split the difference, once and for all‽ An hour differential is way too much anyway.
My vote would be for standard time.
Everybody DOESN'T agree to DST stopping. Some of us LIKE coming home and it still being sunny outside
I hate standard time and moving the clocks back a hour it should be daylight saving time all year round.
I’ve always found it interesting that no where else does this, only here
US, Canada and Europe all do it.
Thanks to Marco Rubio for tirelessly introducing this bill every year for the past five years to change the law. The politicians who haven't help get this bill through should be ashamed! It's way past time to stop the stupidity and let each state choose whether they want to stay on Standard or Daylight time.
Yes! Thanks to him for wanting to make the Sun rise at 4:30am in the Summer when no one needs it instead of having that extra hour at the end of the day.
@murrethmedia He wants to keep us on DST! Extra hour in the evening!
They need to end Daylight Savings Time and join the rest of the world.
I don't think it's a good idea of getting rid of Daylights saving time. Even if they went through with this, they can't control the Earth's equator.
I'm sick of daylight savings time and Taylor Swift
What’s Taylor Swift got to do with this
@alishashay17 did you watch the video? Talking about Swift for half of it
UK Still Dose it to and some other parts of the EU, so it isn't just the US
🌟 **Time for a Change!** 🌟
Are you tired of the hassle of adjusting your clocks twice a year? Do you wish there was a simpler way to enjoy a little more sunshine without all the disruption?
**Say goodbye to the chaos of time shifts!** It’s time for our nation to come together and **split the difference!** Imagine a world where we all agree on a simple, **one-time 30-minute shift** to a perfect half-hour Daylight Saving Time.
👍 Every citizen gets a little closer to their ideal time, and we put an end to those late-night clock changes that leave us groggy and grumpy!
🔍 Recent studies have shown that the biannual clock changing is not just outdated; it’s unnecessary! Join the movement to eliminate this pointless ritual and stop wasting our time and resources.
Let’s leave the clocks alone and embrace a more harmonious way of living, where **everyone wins and the simple act of telling time is just… easier!**
Hmm, just a half-hour shift. I like that idea.
@slivorywings2821
Yes, it is just a 30 minute shift in time, once.
This is by far the dumbest comment on this video.
@@murrethmedia
This was the point, it was created in the style of a call to action advertisement. The underlying concept is solid though. US needs to stop this biannual superstitious ritual nonsense and just split the difference. The arguments between permanent DST and Standard Time are frivolous, and we need to just compromise permanentIy at this time.
Just change it to Daylight savings time forever it’s not needed and can be managed without the clock changing.
360/24=15 degrees problem is not all time zones are 15 degrees so you end up with crazy time extremes. One does have to wonder how China uses 1 time zone and should have at least 4. Wonder how they feel?
I really wish it would change but every year it never happens. It is crazy how many simple changes congress could make but are just too incompetent to actually make changes at a decent pace.
End time change ..leave time alone..its stupid we do this.🌞🌙
