WCW was the first American wrestling promotion I got into as a fan. It's still my favourite promotion of all time. Thankyou for showing the good side of WCW.
LOVED WCW back in its heyday! I preferred Nitro to Raw earlier in the 90s and through the mid-90s…it was just better wrestling performances than the clownery that was WWF.
WCW deserves more positive attention -- it did a LOT right, and no matter how much people complain about it, it was WCW that reignited interest in professional wrestling in the late 1990s and forced Vince to improve his stale product.
As far as Liger vs Pillman two days after he won the title from Brian in December they had a match at a house show,in New Jersey. I felt privileged to have been there, wish there was footage of that match.
Though I lived in NY as a kid and my dad was a WWF fan, after finding WCW on TBS, it was (and stayed) my favorite until around the end of 98 when it just got too stupid for me to enjoy anymore. I'm legitimately going to take the time to watch all 50 of these matches over the course of the next couple weeks or so. Great job.
Eddie and Malenko had a an absolute banger on Nitro in late 95/early 96. It was my first time seeing either of them and my god, I was hooked on their style for years to come. I was praying that match would be included, if for no other reason, so that I could find out what Nitro it aired on and go watch it again.
An honorable mention for me is Booker T vs Jeff Jarrett at Bash at the Beach 2000. Yes, the PPV was terrible but if there's one match to see, it's this one. Seeing Booker T finally win the big one after seven years in WCW is a memorable moment.
Bash at the Beach 2000 is indeed the most infamous shows in wrestling history. It was covered by last season's Dark Side of the Ring episode. But yeah, the only good moment on that night was Booker T winning the WCW World Heavyweight Championship against Jeff Jarrett. It was a good match.
A fantastic list of great matches. With their being only ("only") 50, of course there will be matches missing that could have easily made the cut. For me, one match that would be included is Raven & Saturn vs. Malenko & Benoit from Spring Stampede '99. An amazingly good tag-match with a mesh of styles, it really is one to seek out (Spring Stampede '99 as a whole is a great show, so check out the whole thing).
Cactus Jack and Maxx Payne vs Nasty Boyz was like watching wrestling from another planet when it first showed up in WCW in 1994. It was insane and absolutely amazing. I had seen Sting vs Jack before this but the tag match was the first time you saw a ECW like match on major PPV
Not a negative but the background music in this video made me think an ice cream truck was going by outside 😂😂 ty for you videos and absolutely Love em.
A tag team title match from Halloween Havoc 1992 is among the longest matches in WCW PPV history (tied with Steamboat/Rick Rude 30-minute Iron Man match )
Kudos for breaking your own rule and including the Flair Steamboat trilogy. Each match is truly great in different ways and they all deserve a mention.

Ric Flair vs Eddie Guerrero at Hog Wild I believe it's 96 or 97 but that match one of my favorite Eddie Guerrero matches of all time I told that to Vickie Guerrero
For me personaly the great American bash 1990 sting vs flair for the worlds heavyweight championship the original big gold belt was the best match in wcw.
I've always thought Ric Flair vs. Ricky Steamboat from Clash at the Champions VI was the best of the 1989 trilogy while WrestleWar was by far the worst.
After his car accident he was done as far as being a great high flyer. He only had great character work, but also horrible addiction issues due to the pain
Too bad we never got Goldberg versus Savage not sure if he could have worked his magic at that time but in theory it would have been Bill's best match. Oh yeah
Actually not a bad list, but probably could have expanded to 75. Could have easily included: Sting vs DDP from Nitro Hogan vs Luger from Nitro Windham/Rhodes vs Doc & Gordy from Saturday Night Nastys vs Steiners from Halloween Havoc Midnights vs RnR Express from WrestleWar Benoit vs Booker from Great American Bash Hogan vs Vader from SuperBrawl Larry Zbyszko vs Steven Regal from Saturday Night Just to name a few.
I’m Ireland you couldn’t see WCW on the telly back in the 80s and 90s caught up with some of it on the WWE network and my god it’s literally like the WWF on it’s very worst day. It was shocking to see talent from the WWF go there and just seem to lose all way of having a match and selling it
Just curious why everyone is posting about wcw all of the sudden I dont mind but its just weird you guys had how many years to come out with vids for them but in 2024 is wild

WCW was the first American wrestling promotion I got into as a fan. It's still my favourite promotion of all time. Thankyou for showing the good side of WCW.
It's a shame how most people now a days see wcw as this bumbling mess that rode off the nwo. They were so much more then that.

@@NostalgikOne Rey Mysterio, Eddy Guerrero, and Dean Malenko were the best wrestlers to me at that time.

People always overplay the 2000s WCW sucked. Imo it was already rebounding with The Natural Born Thrillers, Steiner, Booker T ETC.

Great recommendation, all 4 men work intense and really make it a credible and competitive atmosphere for a great match.
Would also highly recommend sting vs ddp on nitro for wcw championship.
Ric Flair vs Inoki in Collision in Korea its not a masterpiece, but i would say its a "must watch" considering how unique it is
I have that ppv but it took me forever to find it to download it
Thanks for that background melody. Been thinking the ice cream van been coming for last hour now
You missed Sting vs DDP on Nitro for the world title durning the first hour of that night
Ric Flair of that era can't be topped, glad Vader is featured prominently, but Steiners vs. Williams + Gordy is a glaring omission.
Yes! Kept expecting to see them especially in the top 10.
Ok. Now do 50 Jim Crockett Promotions/NWA Matches to watch just once Adam.
Not a negative but the background music in this video made me think an ice cream truck was going by outside 😂😂 ty for you videos and absolutely Love em.
Love this list, would love to see ECW, TNA and eventually AEW
The Benoit vs Hart match was classic. Hart actually wanted Benoit to go over, but the bookers wouldn't let it happen, apparently.
WCW Then Now Forever Together
I would love to see one of these lists for both ECW and Impact/TNA.
A tag team title match from Halloween Havoc 1992 is among the longest matches in WCW PPV history (tied with Steamboat/Rick Rude 30-minute Iron Man match )
I don't know if i missed it, but Hulk vs Lex when Lex won the title and War Games 96 because of how dramatic it was when no one trusted Sting.
How about top ECW matches? There doesn’t have to be a certain number
I second this suggestion!!!
There were only about 8 or 9 good matches in ecw
@@robw5741 it ain’t really about good wrestling, it’s more about the iconic ones
Cactus Vs Sting was the first WCW match i ever watched. And i loved it!!!

You can't go wrong with a Regal vs. Finlay match.
No you can👍💯
34:46 Eh Yo You dealin' with the X-Factor!!
I will always default to DDP vs Macho Man, any of them. They were all great.
I love The Late Great "Ravishing" Rick Rude's WCW run, alongside Big Van Vader until freaking Hulk Hogan completely buried Vader!
Hulk never pinned Vader. Vader even kicked out of Hogan's finish at 1.
That's definitely not a burial, brother

Ric Flair vs Ricky Steamboat.
Finally a wcw one

Brian pillman is the biggest "what if" when it comes to wrestling. Gone way before his time.
After his car accident he was done as far as being a great high flyer.
He only had great character work, but also horrible addiction issues due to the pain
Ric Flair was 44 when he won the title from Vader (Vader was about 38)..
Orton is 43, Styles and Cena are now 46, Mysterio is 49.
Love you guys
Austin vs Steamboat.
Red Neck Kung Fu. It really is the best type of Kung Fu, isn't it?
Dang dude, Dean Malemko made it on the thumbnail twice

Too bad we never got Goldberg versus Savage not sure if he could have worked his magic at that time but in theory it would have been Bill's best match. Oh yeah
DDP did it with Bill so I’m sure Savage could of

Sting vs DDP from Nitro
Hogan vs Luger from Nitro
Windham/Rhodes vs Doc & Gordy from Saturday Night
Nastys vs Steiners from Halloween Havoc
Midnights vs RnR Express from WrestleWar
Benoit vs Booker from Great American Bash
Hogan vs Vader from SuperBrawl
Larry Zbyszko vs Steven Regal from Saturday Night
Just to name a few.
Good list!
How often can you say that Ultimo was facing a smaller opponent? Great match with Rey though
I would have added one of the final matches for wcw such as sting vs flair or booker t vs Scott steiner
Sting vs flair that last nitro? Not a good match
Older wcw was pretty decent definitely better than wwe in 95😂😂😂
Other than Russo's WCW, WCW at any other point is way better than any wrestling today.
He called Jushin Liger Luger 😂😂😂
Cactus Jack and Abdullah The Butcher scared the hell outta me as a kid
I think he means post NWA days not NWO days when talking about Sting’s Squadron vs Dangerous Alliance.

WWE needs to resurrect the Triple Cage they used at Slamboree 2000 (I think). Great gimmick match IMO
Watching WCW and the Attitude Era back makes me cringe. I can't believe I liked that crap.
