- Hey guys. So Im a natural hairstylistt based in New Orleans,Louisiana.
I get a lot of questions about blow drying natural hair.
Yes. I blow dry all of my clients for most hairstyles except for maybe two or three. So some of the benefits are of blow drying is it helps with single strand knots on the ends and it makes it easier to style your hair.
So you don't have to fight against texture. If you found this helpful, drop a fire emoji and check the comments because I am having a free online training.
I've been blow drying my 14 yo daughters kinky hair for about 3 years now. She has A LOT of hair. Blow drying actually helped her hair, zero heat damage and makes her styles last longer. ❤️

I think it’s the ‘fight against texture’ comment that’s rubbing people the wrong way. I have 4c hair and after I take out my protective style blow drying is a must for me. If I don’t do it would be full of knots.
I think the people choosing to be in their feelings is what is rubbing them the wrong way.
@@ladennayoung2939for sure lol
Okay 👌 i
4c hair is harder to detect ‘straight damage’ but curlier textures you notice it rights away and it kind of ruins the look of your hair. I have straight damage on the left front side of my hair from puffs and buns and it’s infuriating when I try to wash and go.
I say all that to say straightening isn’t something everyone can do and e need better ways to deal with natural hair rather than considering it difficult or undesirable
I blow dry after every wash. I see absolutely no need to be dealing with knots and tangles when there is a simple solution. A good moisturizer and heat protectant and there are no issues.
Asa newbie I'm having trouble finding new moisturizer. Can you give a suggestion. I'm 4c I think. Thank you
@@Bougie_WifeMielle is black owned, has great products and they smell amazing
Yeah sorry if you’re dealing with knots after washing then your hair is tangled and you should prob have taken care of it in the shower.
@@Crazyconfedygirl what? After washing and detangling, curly hair will wrap around the other strands as the hair drys that’s just what it does. Especially 4c hair. So yes blow drying before styling helps the hair stay in untangled.
@@jamiek2327 babes you don't have to tell me about curly hair. It's on my head. As soon as you step out of the shower your hair is not magically tangled to the point all you can do is blow dry it for it to untangle it. you should be detangling curlg hair when it's wet in the shower. If you're worried or stressed about tangles leave your hair parted in the sections to detangle them in. It's really that simple. If you rather blow dry your hair just say that. Your really not “dealing” with knots and tangles to The point that blow drying is a “solution” as long as you actually detangle in the shower.
blow drying has helped my hair tremendously. I no longer have a many single strand knots , I'm now seeing more length , and my detangling time has been cut in half . My hair texture is fine , and so far I have not had any heat damage.
Same here. I blow dry at least once a month and my hair is healthy and growing. The people in these comments are childish and bored.

My hair grew a lot during the Pandemic because I was no longer getting it blow dried at the salon. I limit the number of times to few times per year because my hair is prone to breakage with excessive use. Clients should be allowed to chose.
Unless you plan on leaving the salon with wet twists, air drying is unrealistic in this setting.

Whether or not it makes the hair easier to work with is not the question. My hair is easier to work with after I use a flat iron on it, that doesn't mean the flat iron isn't damaging my hair.
Right! She did not explain how blow drying your hair is okay. I was expecting her to talk about moisturizer or heat protectant or low heat settings...nothing that was said went against blow drying being bad for the hair

@@tyriqburtton6265 Heat styling, protectant or not, will incur damage. It's been proven time and time again. Hell, even mechanical damage (aka, handling your hair) will incur some damage. The fact is, if you're heat styling every time you need to style your hair, you're incurring a lot of damage. And the worst thing with heat, is that it can be just one session to do major damage, as opposed to other forms which are cumulative.
@@balanceis_keythat is not true. You are not incurring “a lot” of damage. That analysis is subjective and not a universal rule especially when it comes to blow drying which is known to be significantly less damaging than flat ironing. So the comparison in the OP is like apples and oranges 🤦🏽♀️
@@UnicornFamilia I said heat styling, which includes blow drying. And it is true, like we've studied the integrity of the hair cuticle before and after heat styling, with and without heat protectants. Over time, that will be a lot of damage. What *is* subjective, is who can withstand that damage.
You lost me at fight against texture. There is no such thing as fight against a natural texture unless the hair is damaged to no repair. Natural hair is beautiful and has no fight, just moisturize it and section it off and have patience. The fact that you blow dry nearly almost all of your clients just to be able to style it, means you’re not really a natural hair stylist if you have to manipulate it just to style it. Ya lost me 🤷🏽♀️
Afrikan Hair God has a recent short which says just that.
Thank you, I'd never let her close to my hair. In my country, hairstylist style hair without blow drying. That's why I get my braids home.
Well all styling is manipulation; it's just a matter of degree. But I get what you mean, to be so dependent on blow drying and lack any other alternatives for detangling, gaining length etc isn't the sign of a good hairdresser.
Nothing is for everyone I guess.
The fight against certain textures has been real for decades. Let's not pretend otherwise
She meant not fighting to combing your hair. Whoever has natural hair knows the struggle of combing/ detangling your hair.
Some of y’all in the comments funny lol! Acting like blow drying your hair is a sin now. First it was the chemicals, now we can’t blow dry?! Yea right. It’s all about the “how”. I blow dry on cool . Stretching my hair has definitely helped me maintain length and get to my scalp .

Instead of believing you need to fight against texture. Be patient and work with the texture.
@Kat T Depends. Since I'm all natural I like to stetch my hair by twisting it. I seperate into four sections or more and moisturize my hair hair, then twist it into what looks like a donut. Then hold it with a ponytail holder. I leave it like that until it's dry and once i take it out it's all stretched. Took me to be 27 to realize my hair isn't as tough as i thought. Patience is key because our hair is actually easy.m it just takes longer to do certain things.
If the shrinkage to length ratio is high, you better have a plan to keep the hair stretched if you want to retain length or style. Twists work for some, African threading, blow dryer for others, for others flat iron. The fascination and frustration of black hair.

I do the bunning method; when the hair is wet/damp, I use oils with leave in conditioner and twist the hair's sections in low buns and keep them this way overnight. My hair becomes smooth, straight and usually has a lil bounce in it from the imprint of the buns.
But that would mean a few days to do ur hair and some ppl don’t want to wait? There’s tons of methods of stretching ur hair but this is just the fastes way. She’s telling u she doesn’t create damage. She’s a hair stylist ppl come in for a style right away
For about 2 years, I 2-strand twisted fresh after a wash and deep condition. My hair grew like crazy but I was confused why I kept getting fairy knots. Then I noticed a patch of missing hair one day and was even more confused. I decided to blow dry and couldn't believe how uneven and broken off my hair had become. The 2-strand twisting hid this problem. So I got a good cut and have my hair pressed by a professional once a month. My hair is now almost waist length with no more knots and missing hair. Straightening my natural hair personally has helped me.
Exactly, I don't know who started the belief that our hair can't handle heat, when we literally are made to withstand the heat lol Our hair is actually the strongest hair type when healthy.
I can honestly say my hair grew like crazy when I wore blow dried hair styles often. No heat damage at all (I definitely used heat protectant). Less knot and tangles which means less breakage. I love my wash and gos but honestly I lost more hair doing those.

@Kat.T I'm so sorry you feel that way about your hair. My hair is not a fight nor my kids hair. It's our natural hair the way it should be. What's a fight is trying to make your hair be something it's not....that's the true fight. Sad very 😔
Yes, fight against texture. Why do you think black women use so much gel and holding spray? When you want to wear a style that your natural hair texture doesn’t want to play along with, you use products to aid and there’s nothing wrong with that. We can wear our hair however we want, without your permission or approval. I have certain standards for myself and my hair so I’ll continue the battle and enjoy the hair I was blessed with instead of letting it simply exist on my head 😊

Chileee I am SO tired of delusion “sisterhood” movement. Virtue signaling about HAIR when nobody has the EXACT same texture, length, resources, skill level, desire for different methods of styling etc…some of us have more than one “curl pattern” in the same head and they have nothing better to do but to try and fail miserably at creating a faux sense of superiority regarding SOMEONE ELSE’S HAIR!!!!

I’m a natural hair girl and I can say after washing my hair I air dry and don’t have the brittleness at all. I put moisturizer in my hair while it’s still wet section by section and let it continue air drying. Never had a problem. Blow drying is what makes my hair crunchy and dried out plus the ends feel hard. If you’re a natural hairstylist you should know how to work with natural hair in all stages. Everyone doesn’t conform to the same standards for their hair care regime and that’s okay. Do what works for you. I’ve completed my 1,000 cosmetology course while in high school over 20 years ago. I have blow dried my hair when I was younger but have completely changed my routine that works for me. Just saying everyone is different but if I go to a stylist and they tell me they can only blow dry my hair which is thick and course I will leave. Stylist should be able to adapt to their clients. If you moisturize your hair it won’t be hard from my experience. And don’t forget to put a leave in conditioner it helps with other products of your choice. My hair is long and healthy as well. I section my hair in braids to stretch it as well. Have a blessed day. 😊❤
Also not everyone with natural hair will respond to hair treatments the same way. Depending on your coil pattern, texture, strand diameter, density, porosity and other factors, your technique of air drying may not have the same effect for others and in fact can be quite damaging.
How is the clients hair supposed to dry if she let it air dry . What is the whole point of going to the hair stylist in the first place if the clients want their hair to air dry😑. Some people's natural hair take forever to dry anyway. Plus blow drying is ok as long as it's done properly. (And of course it depends on the hairstyles).

Everyone stay calm!!! Let’s just call it a personal preference ok.
I think blow drying does weaken the hair to some degree, making deep conditioning necessary. This may be why a lot of naturals think they have to deep condition every wash day, bc they are used to it from when they use to perm or flat iron their hair regularly. Without heat (or other damaging chemicals), I don't need to deep condition. So that tells me it does weaken the hair.
That being said, I know "straight hair naturals" who flat iron regularly and still have healthy hair, so it's all about knowing how to maintain your hair, just like color.
Yeah, anytime I use heat. I always use a medium protein treatment and moisturizing deep conditioner. Then I leave it in cornrows for two weeks and repeat.
I just opt out altogether because heat changes my curl pattern slowly but surely. I suppose its fine for those who wear it straight more often and dont mind then stringy ends.
It just dries it out through evaporation, it doesn't weaken it. The deep conditioning helps hair retain moisture while you blow high desert winds across it. If no blow drying occurs, then you're fine.
@@fakeidonthaveahandle Ur right. It can damage the hair if done incorrectly but moisture, using a heat protectant, and sticking to medium/warm heat go a long way in preventing that.
Nah, I dont agree. if that was true, then our people in Africa would ALL have seriously messed up hair that's sustaining in 100 plus degree heat while sitting closest to the sun all day, all year round. Yall be trying but the logic be all the way off.🙄

I've been in the hair game for well over a decade and have never been able to successfully air dry my natural hair. It's always hard and crunchy and trust me I've tried everything. The best part about blow drying regularly is that I don't have single strand knots so WAY less breakage. Also, using the Revair allows me to get maximum stretch with zero manipulation while using it.
After using revair I don't like how my hair seems too hard to comb thru especially when considering how str8 the revair gets it 🤷🏽♀️ maybe it's just me but I prefer roller sets

It depends on how you like to style your hair. If you plan to wear your hair curly most of the time, regular blowdrying doesn't make sense. But if, like me, you want to wear your hair in stretched styles and manage it with minimum effort, blowdrying can be helpful if done properly.

@Clara i think they’re saying why would a natural hairstylist blow dry natural hair for every style if they’re supposed to be able to work with textured hair? I’m not sure if thats what they mean but its a valid question. Not everyones hair is gonna react the same to heat or be managed better that way, it depends on the health state of that persons hair. To offer blowdrying service for some hairstyles is one thing but if they do it for everyone of the clients, how can they claim to be a “natural hairstylist”? What would they say if their client asked not to be blowed out or use heat? What other methods are they going to use to stretch the hair to be better manageable and best for the hairs health. I wonder if blowdrying comes with the style you book or if its an additional charge. Some places ask you to go blowed out and already washed and just go for the style, otherwise it cost extra for those services. Man i dunno but the natural hair community confuses me sometimes.
@Clara i dont think I wrote what I said right. But you said it better, thats what I was trying to say. I was also interpreting the comment I replied on because I thought thats what they were saying too. I wasn’t saying only blowing out for hairstyles is bad. I was trying to rephrase because thats how i took what the commenter said. You’re not wrong so
Well any form of stretching your natural hair for a style is technically fighting your texture (meant to say manipulating your texture) whether it's with or without heat lol. Unless you wear your hair the way it is without stretching or anything like a wash n go. But then again I could be wrong idk. Edit: (Either way I think a lot of natural stretch their hair for manageability whether it's with heat or without except the ones who do wash n go's)
I’m talking about the word fighting.
Our texture is what enables us to do these styles in the first place so fighting it is like fighting our hairs ability to hold the style.
That one reason why people rag on white people for these styles. They don’t have the texture for it, so why should I get rid of mine when I need it for the style?
And how do you say you’re a natural hair stylist but don’t do hair in its NATURAL state?
@@artistaroundtheblock2047 thats right 👏🏽
The heat and tension from blow drying causes damage. It just makes it easier for stylist to style your hair. They just don't want to deal with (or know how to) style natural hair. I wish they would just admit that instead of staying blow drying doesn't cause damage. Blowing once or second a year is not too bad but if you do it frequently then your hair will fall out. Doesn't matter how much you protective style.
Nooo 🤔 maybe for you but I blow dry my hair every time I was it so about once a month and my hair is thick, long, shiny always, and soft. Just keep in mind everyone is different. Also if you’re not using good products or taking preventative measures like detangling… of course your hair will fall out. A good thing to note; don’t blow dry your hair everyday or even every other day. Space it out.
This is very true, especially because, contrary to popular belief, not all 3c-4c hair is low porosity. Low porosity hair does ok with heat. However, someone who has naturally high porosity hair, even a little bit of heat causes weaker hair strands and breakage.
No it doesn’t 🤦🏽♀️ heat protectant is a thing and so is having common sense a thing. Blow drying your hair does not damage it let alone heat is not always used hence the cool setting. On top of that air drying your hair can be bad to so what are you gonna do🤣
It depends on who blow dries your hair
This is false. Maybe you don’t know how to blow dry YOUR hair. For most hairstyles if not getting a silk press hair should be detangled first then blow dried enough to ensure ends are not tangled then get underneath a hooded dryer which dries but hear is not directly on each strand.
Long as ur not doing it everyday. I only blowdry my hair when im getting it done professionally. Likebraids. Which isnt often
As a cosmetologist this is so true. Heat protectants and healthy hair care routines are in play too. You don’t have to blow dry it though for it to be cared for easily. Just have to do what works for you.
There was nothing mentioned as to how or why it doesn't damage hair.
I blow dry my hair every time I wash my hair which is once a week. If I don’t my hair would be brittle.
That don't even sound right
@@TheodoreBakes nah it actually makes sense because air drying is most likely to damage the inner cortex of the hair.
Blow drying when done correctly sets the hair bonds, but has its draw backs if you don’t know how and what you’re doing. Everything is a trade off somewhere.
I would say a hooded/soft bonnet dryer is the best of both worlds bc it’s not direct heat, yet you’re still setting the hair bonds in place so they’re not at their weakest point (wet & swollen ) for too long
@@christabellatoao I just wonder what women did for centuries before blow dryers... 🤔
@@TheodoreBakes Most of them (Black) kept their hair stretched, and were out in high temp. heat conditions, that ironically have similar effects to a hooded/bonnet dryer.
Their hair was not wet for days straight in that enviornment
@@christabellatoao you do know there are black women in history that weren’t slaves, right?
That's such an odd statement. Natural hair stylist fighting against texture 😮
Natural hair is beautiful, and it’s always better not to blow dry when you can help it. But, if you’re going to blow dry, and recommend others to I wish you’d have included the caveat that they need to use a *heat protectant* every time. That is what is going to prevent it from being damaged.
I have 4Z hair 😂 Blow drying causes my hair to break off. Unless I'm getting box braids, I don't blow dry anymore and my hair has been thriving ever since 🙏🏾 And if I do, I use cool/low air. But to each their own 🤷🏾♀️ What works for some doesn't work for everyone!
Lmao! 4Z! Wow. At times my hair could be used as Brillo pads to remove tough stains and burn marks on pots and pans. I know your troubles
Same here.Heat makes my hair weak
Hey Sis👋🏾🙋🏾♀️My hair is 4Z too and blow drying had my hair tore up!!!
I can't speak for everyone, however, blow drying damaged my hair.
Nothing wrong with blow drying ofcourse! But if you have to "fight against texture" then you arent a natural hair stylist lol.
Anyone with natural, kinky hair has to "fight against texture" when styling. Hair stylists are no different. Just because she's a hairstylist doesn't magically make kinky hair easy to deal with. Stylists aren't superheros lol
@@juanitamutisa1817 No, the whole point of being a natural hair stylist is to work WITH natural hair in its natural state, including its texture.
If you have to fight against texture, instead of being able to work with/ manage it then you just arent a natural stylist.
@@yourmum741the styles like slick ponytails or any braids or twists require the curl pattern to be masked or stretched. Blow drying makes the hair easier to style in those specific ways while minimizing the amount of manipulation.
@vixen_0072 it does make it easier, but the curl dont have to be masked or stretched for braids or twist. I've never put any heat on my hair. Always get twist, flat twist, braids. It takes longer but you can diff do it.
@JamesPain1203 that's what I'm I'm trying to do, style with braided after part blow drying/ air drying
It’s sad that black people feel they need to change their texture to do black hairstyles. Blow drying is not the enemy and those who do it of choice, that’s ok. But to say as a natural hair stylist you basically need to blow dry natural hair to do it. 😢 she is not fighting texture but her job description.
This comment right here!!!!🎤 drop !!! ☝️☝️☝️
Every one should do what’s best for themselves. What really matter is the reason of the choice.
I feel roller sets give a longer lasting curl/bounce. Many stylists do not do this though, probably because it takes longer.
Agreed doing this on my next session
Nope. I think not. I use my RevAir a few times a year and get a silk press once a year. That's all the heat I'll allow. It's not about how much hair you grow. It's about how much hair you keep.
This did nothing to dispell that blow drying is damaging to natural hair. .
Thought I was the only one
I have very fine hair. Blow drying totally ruins my curls and they take months to bounce back when they’re stretched out by heat. Will you or can you cover this in your class on Feb 11?
I have this same problem!! I have thin hair with a lot density but it gets damaged so easily. If I wear a slicked bun to long I get mechanical damage and lose curls. I do the banding method when I want stretched hair and light blow dry every once in awhile. Crazy how different hair can be!
Yes, everyone's hair is different. My natural hsir is very fine. If I'm wearing it curly, I co-wash and rinse, then saturate with conditioner and let it air dry. It makes it very curly. When I blow dry my hair, each time, my curls get looser and looser. Eventually, the natural curls don't come back.
@@ethelstewart3379 Same here. I haven’t applied heat to my hair in years. I usually wear it in twists or in a wash and go. My hair is extremely coily so I stretch it with big twists or plats.
I have fine medium density 4c hair and I blow dry my hair every 4 weeks and have no problem in retaining my coils. I blow dry on low by the way and use heat protectant. You should probably do African threading to stretch your hair, it's just as if you had blow dried it. I also do that when I don't want to use heat
@@ethelstewart3379 are you saying you leave REGULAR conditioner in your hair to air dry... or are you talking about LEAVE IN conditioner? Just curious.
Okay so when does she talk about the damage part…….?????????
Many African people's have dry hair except horn African
My daughter and I have 3C/4A hair, and blow drying is necessary. We used to have so many fairy/single strand knots at the ends especially...that stopped once I started blow drying. We both have long, thick, and healthy hair!
Yes !!!!! I agree … same here…
That usually means your ends need clipping.
@@charlinemorone2704 yes but not always. Some kinkier texture just create knots easily and getting them out (even with conditioners and wetting it) causes breakage. My hair if I wear it lose and natural will do this.
@@charlinemorone2704 Exactly! These knots and such never start at the root
@@cheyennejackson512 Hair breaks like how skin sheds lol
I'd rather have my hair blow-dried then stay under the dryer for an hour or more!
Just air dry. No heat at all has my hair flourishing waist length
My hair actually is worse off when I don’t blow dry because of single strand knots 😭
If you have to blow dry natural hair to style it, you're not a natural hair stylist. You just traded in the hot comb for the blow-dryer. 🤷🏾♀️
What does "fight against texture" mean? I've never heard that come out of the month of a natural hairstylist!
Kinks, bumps, tangles, single strand knots
Dryness, roughness, crunchiness
U Wint be blowing drying me if I don't want that! If your a natural hair stylist u need to work with hair in it's natural state!
My sister has been blow drying her hair for many years since she always styled her hair. I don't style my hair much and I also don't blow dry my hair very much. Guess who has more healthy hair at age 66 and 69? Yes, me, the one that hardly ever blows dries her hair
I can't imagine being so unhappy and having so very little love for myself that i do anything and everything possible to take away from (and "fight") my natural state. And then promote and excuse it to other ppl. Cuz ya know, misery loves company.
And idk this youtuber enough to know if that's her stance as well (the commentary on this video was definitely a bit sus) but im definitely noticing it a lot. And its sad....taking some of these women's wigs off literally ruins their day because they're sooooo unhappg with whats underneath. Ik ppl that will fall off the face of the Earth until their hair style is 100% (not 90..not 99) finished. 😅
And last note: how you think of your hair is very important. Using words w negative connotations like "nappy" and "messed up" ...? Thats a problem. Ijs
I wash my hair at least 5 times a week. I blow dry each time I wash and my hair grew like wild fire. No damage.
I notice that I have had wayyy less breakage, knots and split ends when I blow dry and use a good heat protect. It helped me in my hair growth journey, but air drying helps me retain moisture as well so I just give my hair a break and air dry it 1-2 times per month 🤷🏻♀️
Imma mail my head to you so you can do my hair. Please tell me how much for the due plus shipping and handling. Thank you

Fight against texture ouch that term doesn't celebrate the uniqueness of black hair.
I am so glad that I have options. I prefer not to blow-dry my hair. I enjoy my hair in it's natural state. I am learning to streatch my hair without heat. I have also learned how to clip my ends without blow drying my hair. Love taking care of my crown myself.
“So you don’t have to fight against texture”…. 🤔
Not from a “natural hair stylist”…. 😒😒
I wish I had started blow drying my twins hair years ago! I’ve had to trim their hair so much we never saw length but now the length retention is happening, the wash days are smoother and faster. Stretching the hair, either air dry or blow dry, helps prevent breakage and encourages length retention.
It makes everything easier, but I couldn’t see the damage until after. I was blow drying my hair every time a went to get braids and my natural hair just didn’t feel the same after 2 years of blowing it out so much. So I cut it off and now I’m starting fresh and I’m never gonna put that thing in my hair again. I think I need to show more love to my hair and learn to have more patience. If a stylist can’t do without blow drying I’ll find another or do it myself. Because as some of y’all know there are different ways to stretch your hair without heat, it just takes longer.
Uh you were getting braids. Most likely getting synthetic hair with chemicals on it that damage the hair.
I get so tired of heat feat in this community. Its so ridiculous. Just use heat protection and low heat.
Fr lmao. I used to not had heat protection and it don’t damage my hair if I use low heat.😂😂👍🏽
Damage what? I neeever understand people saying that. Moisturize with a touch of water and hair product ...zero problems. Keeping your ends very regularly snipped will forever keep your hair thick and healthy. Heat is fine especially on natural hair.
Fight against texture baby it is what it is, work with the texture!! The texture is beautiful!! Natural curls look way better than blown out hair or straight hair❤❤❤
They also knot and tangle up contributing to breakage. Oops you forgot that part.😏

Proper washing and detangling, and using the right tool is key. Here’s a couple examples of both:

Then when it comes to styling, work in sections and take your time. Ease and speed comes with practice. You’ll get better and faster the more time you put into it. Invest in a 360 mirror.

@Clara "I'm trying to retain moisture..." Apparently, we have different hair textures that require different drying techniques, but I prefer the 'no heat' method for drying and styling my coily, thick hair!🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️
💯 This is exactly how Dominican stylists get the legendary sleek straight blowouts. They will always blow first, then touch up lightly with flat iron. The rapid turning brush technique they use also helps polish or Smooth the hair cuticle down, which makes it shinier and more humidity resistant
I tried a DOMINICAN Stylist in the past; and I said NEVER AGAIN. They used TOO MUCH HEAT on my natural hair. NEVER AGAIN. No thanks.
It is SO weird to me that black people argue about this topic. Some still accuse people of being ashamed of their natural hair. Because they choose to wear their hair a certain way, and some argue that doing certain things will damage it. It is just odd to me. Just because something happened to you doesn't mean it's going to happen to someone else. Perhaps the stylist did something that you weren't aware of that caused the issue. Perhaps it wasn't blow drying that caused it. Either way, people REALLY need to stop tripping about what someone else decides to do with THEIR hair. It's not the end of the world. Some people are just miserable and like to argue and make miserable comments.
🙌🏾💯!
Fight against texture ? Wow can't believe you said that. That's not being a natural hairstylist
Easier isn’t always better. I wouldn’t sacrifice the health of my hair for the convenience of the stylist but everyone is different. Heat loosens the natural curl pattern.
Blow dry my hair on low heat and child my hair was damaged.
The title vs explanation...?????
Thank You Sis, this is revolutionary... ❤❤❤ Most of us wash and just twist... We are constantly fighting against texture. We lose a lot of hair from knots on the ends that break off on a regular basis. That alone reduces my hair retention and growth. When I used to process my hair I retained my length and carried considerable growth. Thanks for the tip. ❤❤❤🎉🎉😊
My hair is a little dense, but the strands are medium to fine. It stretches easily with tension and low heat. Low heat is good for pre braids. Higher heat resists reversion better for a couple weeks of wear. My straighter hair does maintain length better, because I get fairy knots really bad when my hair is worn freely and curly. Heated stretching provides luster, moisture retention, and manageability. I don't always blowout before a heat brush. Sometimes I just apply one form of heat.
Why do ppl think natural and heatless are the same thing. Like if your natural that means that your hair hasn't been chemically changed or altered. Heatless just means you don't use heat but didn't mean your natural.
THANK YOU 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Speaking for myself as a self proclaimed natural and have since 2015 I believe heatless and natural go hand in hand because my definition of natural is for my hair to be in its complete natural state (outside of oil). Heat alters the pattern of the natural state even if it’s just for a style it still changes your hair from coils to straight. Again just my opinion ❤
@@CasheyDavis I'm just going by textbook definition. We had to know these precise definitions in school. So it's not really a matter of opinion. But ppl should definitely do what ever works best for their hair.
I have to say, black people always have the thickest hair. y'all lucky.
The fact that she said "fight against" texture (like it's a bad thing) told me everything I need to know...😒
