  • The lens is a beauty and for Fuji, quite a steal. Built well, focuses quick and tack sharp. You only have to decide if you need it. All shots where captured with the old Fuji X-Pro1.

    I bought this lens to fill the role of both my 35mm F1.4 and my 23mm F1.4 lenses in my pro-kit and haven't looked back. Having a 40mm equivalent lens fills both roles well enough and simplifies my kit to one less lens.

    Hi Mattias, I missed your reviews, they are unique!!
    A while ago I had the Canon XC15 thanks to the reviews you have done, last year I sold it and bought a Fujifilm X-S20 with the 18-120 F4 Power Zoom. I wanted to build a camcorder similar to the Canon but with the larger sensor and Fujifilm colors. The combo is really good but I'd like to know your opinion on the 18-120 PZ, which is designed for video but has a low rating for photography (and I don't know why). Thank you so much and congrats for your child!

    The only thing holding me back is the size because I want a street photography lens (that doesn't draw attention, which i suffer from with my 17-70mm f2.8 Tamron). I might start with the Fujinom 27mm f2.8 WR and complete with this Viltrox if i need this extra low light + bokeh capability (night photos and portrait work) when i get more money... What do you think?
    I'm all in for the 75mm f1.2 though 😍 I'm just still hesitant on which 27 I should get
    I'm just an amateur btw but seriously considering going pro with events as main subject and street for fun so I might end up with all the 3 I described 😂

    • @thebitterfig9903
      @thebitterfig9903 4 месяца назад

      I've had a lot of fun with the TTArtisan 27/2.8. Dirt cheap, decent sharpness. It's got an odd character, tho, which is a love-it-or-hate-it. Heavy vignetting and a lot of cat's eye in the bokeh, almost to the point of swirling like a vintage lens. It's a bit bigger than the Fuji, and not WR, but the vintage character of the lens is hard to get this small, cheap, wide, or with Autofocus.

    • @gearreallydoesntmatter
      @gearreallydoesntmatter  4 месяца назад

      When ever I have a 27/2.8 it pretty much lives on the camera. For event shooting I would obviously choose the bigger lens.

    A great lens, AF a little slow but it's f1.2 and I prefer the rendering to the 23 1.4 LM overall. Wish it wouldn't flare as much, but I'm not going to complain too much about lenses with character in what has become a very sterile landscape in terms of modern lens design.

    Is the Pro realy pro?
    I am not convinced by Viltrox or the other chinese Manufacturers. I still have a trauma that resulted in a broken shutter because I used a focal length reducer that imported from China.
    Now, I am very reluctant to buy any camera gear that is made there. Yes, this was 6 years ago or something. It was expensive for me.

    • @gearreallydoesntmatter
      @gearreallydoesntmatter  4 месяца назад

      There is a big difference between their Pro line and non-pro line imo. I totally get not wanting to buy stiff made in china, but with that said, quality is not always an issue. Ive had several iPhones and MacBooks over the years, they have all been fine. Several cameras like Fuji, Sony and so on which all have loads of parts if not the entire camera made in China. So its not always a gamble.
      Curious on what reducer and camera you used?
