Mudvayne is what people call 'math metal', because it's super complex, crazy time signatures and they always change it up and down through their songs. They had a bunch of other really great songs. The lead singer and guitarist started up a side project with drummer Vinnie Paul from Pantera called Hellyeah (which you should also check out, Moth, Demons in the Dirt, Human, I Don't Care Anymore, Blood for Blood), but there was a falling out between the two of them, which lead to the lead guitarist being fired from Hellyeah, and Mudvayne breaking up.

All the bass memes really speak to the strength of their musicality. That out of the way, the dig video is such a time capsule. I feel like the entirety of the esthetic of the whole nu metal movement can be summed up by this one word: insanity. That seems to be the common theme and vibe all the bands of that time were going for. I actually kinda miss how unapologetically 'scary' and aggressive it all was. That kinda piss and vinegar is sorta missing in a lot of today's heavy music to my ears.
You’re better off watching one of their live performances from Ozzfest ‘01 such as “Dig” “Death Blooms” or “Nothing To Gein” This way you can fully grasp their sound, style and above all the sheer INTENSITY
Holy shit I completely forgot about Static-X... Fantastic sound. Industrial metal has kinda fallen off the map in recent years. A reaction to Fear Factory would be great... And IMO any Fear Factory!
React to Rob Zombies' guitarist John 5. His solo projects are out of this world. Don't get me wrong I love Rob Zombie but I don't think he uses John's talent properly.
Not sure why this song was so highly requested... Maybe just because it's so well know, but it isn't their best song. And if you like hip hop, you should definitely listen to their song "Under My Skin" because there is a rap bridge.
Ne Obliviscaris- And Plague the Flowers the Kaleidoscope. I promise this song will be unlike anything you’ve heard before. You have to study this song at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

God I miss this band. Glad we got Hellyeah though, i'm hopeful for a reunion someday with these guys, though i know its unlikely given their history, but fingers crossed! BTW, Chad Gray has said that this song was about the music industry wanting to change them as early as their first album and them resisting it and doing things their way.
You absolutely should check out some folk metal too, that genre is just too fun to miss. Korpiklaani is my personal favourite band of the ones I've heard so far. Edit: I just want to put Eluveitie in here, cause they're awsome as hell too.

Nice reaction, man When it comes to Mudvayne, "Not Falling" or "Happy" are my favorites, with "Determined" being a good song for the gym.
Same taste
Lauckitdown determined helps you get those 2 impossible reps in
Dig and not falling are their best i think.
Determined is one of my go to hype songs before midterms and final exams IM SO FUCKEN DETERMINED!! (to get at least a C)
Lauckitdown I like those but don’t forget scarlet letters
So good to see people, unaware of good music, finally discover music beyond crap.
Math metal, not Nu Metal.
@@Professor_Smoak they were nu metal.
I would recommend Not falling and Happy? by Mudvayne too.
PS: Like the reaction, keep it up!
Death Blooms. So you can hear the amazing cleans Chad has. Thank me later.
Justin TheApparition Prod.In that song Chads cleans really well
You’re better off watching one of their live performances from Ozzfest ‘01 such as “Dig” “Death Blooms” or “Nothing To Gein”
This way you can fully grasp their sound, style and above all the sheer INTENSITY
My fourteen year old self is bouncing off the walls right now! I loved this band!
Now it's time to check out Static-X
Boyko Dimov the whole entire of Wisconsin Death Trip while under the influence of psychedelics lol
Holy shit I completely forgot about Static-X... Fantastic sound. Industrial metal has kinda fallen off the map in recent years. A reaction to Fear Factory would be great... And IMO any Fear Factory!
Their 'Wisconsin Death Trip' album is amazing. Just hit play and let it run.
Especially enjoy the song, Wisconsin Death Trip, too.
God I miss static x. I saw them 21 times. Amazing every time. Rest In Peace Wayne
Keep Disco Evil!
Drowning Pool - TEAR AWAY
You gonna love it!
White Zombie - More Human than Human
Nick Drage has to be the original White Zombie with all the sampling and add it movie sound effects in it
Thunderkiss '65
React to Rob Zombies' guitarist John 5. His solo projects are out of this world. Don't get me wrong I love Rob Zombie but I don't think he uses John's talent properly.
i can now confirm that i enjoy every genre of music
I recommend listening to the whole L.D. 50 album
Ismaell Bethencourt it Is their only good album after all
Tool - Vicarious
He should expand to other genres.
Middle finger is the flag that I wave when I'm SILENCED...listen here.
Ryan Martinie is a bass GOD.
i had a wicked headache and randomly watched this video and it literally cured it, i was headbanging along within minutes
Not sure why this song was so highly requested... Maybe just because it's so well know, but it isn't their best song. And if you like hip hop, you should definitely listen to their song "Under My Skin" because there is a rap bridge.
SevenOneFive thats my favorite MuDvAyNe song man!!
Dig is their best song. Everything else is soft.
Ne Obliviscaris- And Plague the Flowers the Kaleidoscope.
I promise this song will be unlike anything you’ve heard before.
You have to study this song at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
James Stephens I second this suggestion! I heard this one on the Lost in Vegas channel and it was amazing! Incredible musicians!
Yep. Best metal band of its genre on the galaxy right now.
Yes this needs to be done!!!
Any NeO would do.
James Stephens It sockssssss, I prefer Sepultura Arise.
Coal chamber-loco
I'd love to see the reaction to him watching rowboat or sway
fiend
Dark Days :D
The entire LD50 album is astonishing, Nothing To Gein is just haunting.
React to Solitaire Unraveling - Mushroomhead!
KingTwall damn, Coldworld listener
Underrated as hell
Do mushroomheads B.W.M.O.P. the Eclipse records version just for that phone call at the end
Black Sabbath - Into The Void
The uncensored Dig song is way better...MUDVAYNE songs Death Blooms...Not Falling...Nothing to Gein is about serial killer Ed Gein aka Leather Face..L.D 50 one of the best new metal albums out there
Marc Casteel almost 20 years.... I don’t think it can be a new album anymore......
Mudvayne is BACK!!!!!!
You absolutely should check out some folk metal too, that genre is just too fun to miss.
Korpiklaani is my personal favourite band of the ones I've heard so far.
Edit: I just want to put Eluveitie in here, cause they're awsome as hell too.
Finntroll, Ensiferum, Turisas, Equilibrium, Wintersun! (Yes I know Wintersun is Extreme Majestic Technical Epic Melodic Metal and not folk :P)
Didn't see this but requested Vodka by them.
Márk Nagy Vodka!
Jerbear Everyone is gorgeous!
This is what made Mudvayne
beautiful and strange
This video and song blew me away went it came out! It was different, they were different! MudVayne was poetic and beautiful while still being raw and unchained!
MudVayne went on to become, and still is to this day, my favorite band ever!!
Censoring this song take away the entire message of the song.
As I Lay Dying - My Own Grave
Jinjer - Outlander
G Horse Yes.
First time I heard Mudvayene was live...the were an opener. They stole the show. It was blast. I never heard of them before that point. It was a great surprise.
Hatebreed- A Call For Blood
Jeff Paul 🤘🤘
Jeff Paul Any song from Hatebreed would be good. I don’t think Alex has ever done a Hatebreed reaction
Definitely! Yeah I don't think so either, I picked that one for the breakdown :)
I would 💩 my pants for this reaction!!!
Let's hope he sees this \m/
Bury Tomorrow - Earthbound
"Man on Fire", "Cemetery", or "Black Flame"
I'm fine with any BT song. They're all amazing!
No joke! I wish they would tour in the US
Nick Chaos32 I know! I'm gonna have to see them live some day.
Nothing to gein. My favorite
Yes. Heartbreaking song, emotionally and sonically heavy as fuuck
That one is the most underated imo. My favorite
Jeff Osborne same
All about the serial killer so u like serial killers??!!
a minha também
me too
Dig bury me underneath everything that I was rearranging.
I love Mudvayne dig.
