  • One of the common issues with laptop display is backlight complaints. In this case the problem was caused by the faulty SMD fuse. I replaced it with a good SMD fuse and the problem was fixed. This is one of the common causes of the backlight issue. Please note: It is slightly complicated to find the real cause of the issues with laptops. Hi, i replaced my old screen without disconnecting battery and now i'm facing no backlight issue. By searching online i understood that could be a fuse issue, however, i could not locate the fuse on the motherboard. Is it possible that the only fuse for backlight is integrated in the display (my pc is very similar to yours). Thank you in advance.

I have same issue on a Lenovo L490. I changed the LCD and is not working (no back light) already tested on another laptop and it works. Also test with another Flex and didn't work. What could be?

I don't understand what you say no back light means, have you tried pointing the flashlight at the LCD screen? if no backlight as you mean the screen is still on it is just dim.(yes the problem is backlight. you need check fuse or any connector socket on lcd led).
assuming you don't just try the lcd screen on another laptop(you tried it and say normal), you also try another lcd led or monitor on your laptop.
if no display, there is a problem with any hardware.
maybe ram memory or vga. 1. ram: have you tried clean memory ram?
2 vga: have you tried plug another monitor(pc or lcd led into your laptop) if tested normal there is problem with your lcd led. if same no display there is vga problem.
try it maybe that can help
