It was amazing to see that just the two of you could build that big structure yourselves, with just a small amount of help from Cait's Dad. Wish we'd been there again this summer to help. It did indeed look VERY rewarding! 🏆

Spray your roof panels with wax furniture polish it makes the snow come down easier. Nice job.

The woods of Northern Michigan (the notorious UPPER PENINSULA) is so peaceful 🥳🥳🥳 I had a magical wedding on Mackinaw Island, grew up spending Summers up North ❤️🙏🏻✝️ Looking impressive amongst the pines 🥳

Why am I not surprised that you two tackled & accomplished this. People like you seem to be able to do anything. I’ve been able to do several projects on my 3500 ram thanks to you. Enjoy your carport.

I tell your story to other travelers and I always say that you are the couple to follow on the road. Man, you guys can fix anything / build anything. I would be happy to just be somewhere in your proximity so that if something happens I can shout out…Help!

Well I thought I left a comment on this video but I must not have hit the button LOL, Just Subsribed but have been watching off an on for a while when one would pop up. Started becase of your Bigfoot camper. Really like your channel. this video tell me that your new location is in the general location of a vacation we are planning for next summer to Copper Harbor area. we will be comming from lower Michigan and might return that way or go south though Wisconsin. I'm in Hope that you can give us some awesome Boondocking spots in the U.P. It's going to be a 10 day trip from central Indiana. Oh we have a POP UP truck Camper and a TT but will be in the Truck camper for this trip.

They do get a Lot of snow up there. We're on the south side of the Yoop and the past few winters I've raked and shoveled the roofs off of our porch, pole barn, and woodshed for fear of to much weight.
This year I think will be a little lighter, but you never know with Superior.

Next time look into renting a scissor lift. It's surprisingly affordable and makes getting up and down so much easier.

Always put the screws through the ridges, not the valley of the roofing panel. Then when your neoprene washers fail you have less chance of roof leaks.

Not that's hard work! I always wonder if when you and others do these projects, did you know how to build? Engineer background? Or previous build? Or was it 100% new research? Glad to see you guys back on the tube.

  • @kathygallagher7378

Nice work on the build - but very hard work. Just curious why you chose the individual footings rather than forming a continuous footing on each side. Or the other option we had our carport was helical ground anchors drilled directly into earth.
I really enjoy your videos - thanks!
    Kathy
