Enshrouded is an open world survival RPG that can be played solo or with up to 16 other players in which you play as a flame born, the last flicker of hope of a world consumed by a deadly corrupting mist called “The Shroud”
In this game you’ll hunt down the souls of other flame born who’ll become NPC crafters to help you on your journey, you’ll take down bosses, hunt down shroud roots and chop them down for skill points as well as craft epic bases using the games voxel based building system and ofcourse hunt down and craft ever more powerful gear of varying rarities as you make your way through the games diverse biomes.
Enshrouded is a game that will likely be of interest to you if you enjoyed games such as V Rising, Valheim, Palworld, Frozen Flame, Windbound or Outward in the past, It’s one of those games that blend survival and RPG together where you go out, explore and have an adventure that isn’t completely linear and on rails.
In this video you’ll get my blind first impressions of the game followed by my pros and cons list at the end.

The server-wide progression rather than individual progress is why we didn't buy the game.

I spent 120 hours gerting all achievements and discovering almost the entire map. To be only thirty bucks this game is phenomenal value. Extremely fun.

@@_N4VE_ well, depends on what you liked in Skyrim. Huge part of this game is combat, and it is kinda boring in a long run.
As of survival elements, you don't have any meters to manage like thirst or hunger, consumables that you make give you only buffs, kinda like Skyrim. Building stuff is necessary to unlock better equipment, but it doesn't require too much resources like in many other survival games.
Huge part of why I liked this game is way more RPG elements than in other survival games. Also huge part why I liked this game is also the reason why I loved Skyrim, the exploration is insanely good and fun.
This game absorbed me for like a week straight. Really looking forward to seein where they take this.
The building is insanely good in this game but even cooler is you can build the parts you grapple too. So you can have a house on a cliff that you can grapple up too if you wanted. You can really spend massive amounts of hours just building!
I had been waiting for your review of this game and glad you liked it. I pretty much finished the available content. Cant wait to see the full release. FYI upgrading your altar allows you to place others around the world so you can use them as teleport waypoints.

Enshrouded was the most open world fun I had since Witcher 3. Sure the game could definitely use a boost in combat system (buff melee, nerf magic, more dynamic mobs) but it was the first time in a long time where I got that sense of adventure while delving into caves and old ruins. I actually enjoyed the game more early on due to the struggle to find materials and get what I needed to upgrade the altars, I kind of hope they remove the legendary glider from the point in the game when you find it because it completely trivializes travel and any feeling of vertical limitation.
Would highly recommend this game to anyone who likes open world adventures and base building.
Quick tip/life hack, if you "equip" a ranged weapon, you can hold Q to toggle from your equipped melee weapon and your equipped ranged weapon (bow or magic) without having to use a quick slot ^^

Really love this game so far. I regret playing it so early in it's early access where only about 1/4 of the game is opened up (supposedly). I got to lvl 20 and now I plan on forgetting about it till it fully releases :)

Ditto here, IMO it's the best survival RPG game I've ever played and will only get better. Burned myself out with over 90 hours in the first week so plan on skipping all future updates till final release.

I've played about 80 hours of Enshrouded solo and with some friends. I've had a blast with it and find the value proposition well worth it. I agree loot becomes uninteresting but I enjoy the exploration of the towns and the bits of lore from the reading materials found in them. Looking forward to checking back every couple of months to see what new stuff has been added or changed.

Been playing this game a lot lately (80+ hours) and really enjoying it so far. I am amazed that this is in an early access state and looking forward to the full release. It is not a try hard game, I would recommend not spoiling the game and exploring as you go. Got distracted from the main quest so many times and it got me cool loots such as the best glider in the game etc... The flavour/lore text you discover along the way is a must read as it leads you to new quest or hidden unmarked loot.

im building bag end at the moment so far i've managed to construct the front entrance, parlour and kitchen still got a ton to do(starting the dining room soon). I like to spend a ton of time on getting everything as good as i can so it will take probably a couple weeks or months depending on when i have time and when i come back to it. Thoroughly enjoy the game.
The game doesnt have an "end" yet, since half the map is still blocked off. But iv completed every quest on one char to level 25 then made a second on the same world n got that one to 25 so i could have two different builds. Even after completing every quest, i still find myself going back and messing around, building, and clearing areas again trying to find all possible rare items. I love the game and really really hope they lean more into the combat and difficulty. This is probably more a proof of concept at this point than the fully realized game in any capacity.
Definitely would love to see your full review once you've finished the early access portion of the game!

I love your review LP because you actually play the games for more than a couple hours. You really do give them a good try before making your decision on the game.
Make sure you get the rake straight away its amazing for terraforming and creating mass amounts of soils.
I've found using the blocks to terraform works even better.

This game sucked me in for 2+ weeks straigt (over 100 hours). What an athmosphere. Yes, it was kinda repetetive some times, until you got into a new biome. Also I played with friends, we build a little city together in the beginning, and after finishing the ~40% of the map that is available at the moment, we did build a huge castle. Its kinda grindy sometimes, esspecially mining ore one by one. Still a gem of a game that has tons of potential. When you look at Yt what some creative ppl have build... I saw 1 house that was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in a game. And I play most games of this genre...

Get Double Jump! I've sunk 135hrs into this game so far, absolutely my favourite survival title (and I have quite a few). I hoped over to try Nightingale because I purchased it but hadn't tried it yet... I was back in Enshrouded the next evening. I can't wait to see what the dev's add over the next year. (I still haven't cleared the full map.)
I'll admit that honestly just flat out agreeing with you esp about ankles and such plus the gameplay so far just a few minutes into the games has my attention.

I'll need to look up multiplayer to see if I honestly want it, I just enjoy being able to work with others....so dep on how they set up multiplayer will affect whether I waste money on it.
I picked this up after all the videos I'd seen about it. More of an rpg fan and not having much, if any, experience with survival games. I've died a lot. However. It's a pretty fun game, I'm really enjoying exploring the world. Gliding is pretty fun as well
If u have not tried Valheim( I didn't bc I mostly play RPGs too) I'd suggest it if u like this ive been hooked on it for the past few weeks its so good. It's like a blend of RPG and survival in itself. Great game.

something u propably missed, u can actually craft bags to increase ur backpack slots , there are more bosses like 4-5 more in EA , the whole map is explorable in EA whic is about 1/3rd of the map , u discover recipes by crafting and u can also craft universal storage chests (if u played any survival game u know )
Make bigger packpacks at hunter npc for more space.

Considering the game is still in alpha and they still have tons of content to release. This game has been a blast to play. They've done a lot of balance patches already too.

One thing I've noticed is that I'll climb down into an elixir well to do battle or find a shroud root and get to chopping only to find that they have respawned when I boot up the game again. So what am I playing for? Isn't the object of the game, as the Flameborn, to remove the shroud and restore Embervale to it's former glory? Only the shround isn't being removed. I have cleared the roots and wells from the entire left side of the map in early game play but the shroud/fog is still there in the low lying areas. WTF? Can anyone answer why you're traveling around removing roots for nothing?

I agree that there is a lot of copy paste in the game to the point where they should make the map a bit smaller, however, this is something that you can expect with an early access game and it still managed to keep me immersed for 45 hrs, which is solid. The game is reasonably priced too.
Also the loot forsure gets better but it is random. It definitly needs a fix but I think due to it being an early access game there isnt exactly a ton of new gear and whatnot. Like ive seen 10 plus armor sets you can loot that I havent even found yet and im 60 hours in.
I played 40 hours and just learned bushes can conceal you. I love this game.

I spent 300+ in the game! 30 hours for story and map completion the other hours on building castles and villages. I just wish we have daily quest and grind for unique items. That way I am obliged to explore the map even more.

Got thousands of hours in Valheim and a hundred or so in Enshrouded so far. Really enjoying it and excited to see where it will go and agree with your observations. Some mechanics seem very similar to Valheim but there is enough that is different and improved to keep it interesting. A big negative for me is that the map is not procedurally generated which may make additional playthroughs a bit predictable and kill the exploration part of the game which is something I love about Valheim.

Had a ton of fun in this game with my friends, you forget its early access because its so polished.
Enshrouded gets boring once you beat all the bosses, they need 4 big very hard end game bosses you can farm for gear (gear at the moment is farmed from gold chests using a bug, not fun).
Class wise Dex scaling daggers are needed and maybe a heavy hitting Strength based ranged weapon.
I guess is didnt give it a fair shake. I enjoyed it byt quickly forgot about it. Maybe i should try it again.
I really didn't gel with Valhiem and nearly ignored this! what a mistake that would have been. I really love this game, An RPG with survival added, as apposed to survival with RPG added. Seems easy at first but gets progressively harder. I'm not keen on the swinging and jumping stuff(never got into Velda games) but I have found that brute force usually gets you through(smashing down doors and ignoring buttons 🤣). I die usually because I fall into Lava while backing away, or the bloody glider suddenly drops me from a great height. Its already a great game, I can't imagine how brilliant its going to become when it gets out of EA. I will mention that I am a solo player, BUT I can see how it would also appeal to a co-op player. Lets hope they don't spoil it by nerfing everything as they get close to completion!
