    He says 1” socket but it’s a 1,1/6” socket because I found out the hard way by getting a 1” socket firmly wedged in to place requiring me to find a way to get it off with a steel pin and a hammer on an metal perch

    If I am understanding this video properly, would these be capable of supporting triples?

    So the dealer installed my dual kit before delivering the 4500, and after watching this video I think they did it wrong. My inside wheel is white which means the extension is on the backside of the wheel. That may explain why my lug nuts get loose even after they said they torqued them. The first week I had it the outside wheel actually fell off while I was mowing. You guys make a great product, you need to make sure your dealers know as much as your in house techs or you may be getting a bad rap for someone else's ignorance. My local guys mean well, I'm just not sure if they are up to speed on your equipment because I had to mention other points I've seen on your videos they missed. Thanks

      First of all, thanks for watching and taking notice. If you're still having any issues whatsoever, please verify that everything is installed correctly before any further use. If you're not sure, please contact the dealer or our internal customer service department and reference this video. We'll do our best to educate the dealer as well. Thanks for the comments. We want your machine to work like it was designed to and your safety and satisfaction with the product is very important to us.

      Ventrac thanks, that may also explain why they had so many lug nuts left over. At least they gave me the bag full of them. My other issue you may be able to help with is the mulching kit on my 72" deck. They said it uses the same blade as the side discharge but it leaves a track of grass. According to your video it says its supposed to have mulching blades with the kit. Is that correct? I have Kentucky Blue grass which is a tall blade and it bogs down the machine when mowing besides leaving grass clippings. Do you make a double stack blade like the Honda mower? They seem to work great with that type of grass and leaves in the fall. Here in Colorado we're getting set up for snow so mowing isn't my concern now so you have time to get back to me on that one. I have the 4500 with the Kawasaki because I have some pretty steep slopes on the property.

      With our 72" finish deck, we used to offer a mulching blade but some time in recent history we stopped stocking it due to supply issues. Currently that deck ships with standard low-lift blades. The only blades we offer are low and high lift. Double stacking blades isn't something we recommend but I'm sure if the dimensions were correct (thin enough at the spindle and not too wide overall length) it would be doable. Speaking with our service department, their recommendation would be to continue running low-lift blades with the mulch kit as high-lift will not work very well. Alternatively, and the best option if you can source them from your dealer or online somewhere would be to go ahead and swap out to mulch blades. The required size is 24.75" x 1/2" center hole, RH. If you still have any issues cutting like you'd expect, snap some photos of the cut and/or under-side of the deck and send them in to our service department... we want to get you going asap. Thanks.

    How do you prevent dirt from getting into the threads on the inner plug threaded insert? I have seen so many Ventrac users unable to get their duals off once installed because the plug gets wedged, and the inner plug binds up into the threads. Would it not be prudent to apply and never anti-seize to the threads to block contamination and rust so they will quickly turn off? The difficulty experienced with Ventrac owners reminds me of removing agricultural tractor duals, which are subject to constant dirt and rust all day; only after the duals have been removed and treated with a high-grade Anti-seize do these duals become much easier to remove. As a note, Agricultural dual tires are several thousand pounds when removed, and to have to fight them only to have them suddenly released is dangerous.

    I hope my dealer service tech watches this. My outer wheel extensions were tightened with a four foot pipe (monkey) wrench as witnessed by the distinctive teeth marks in the paint and metal. I asked him about it and in firm reply he said, "Yes, I want them tight!" I used a long steel pipe and loop of chain to wrap the tire and stood on the pipe and bounced until it turned out. Quite a job with 4 wheels that way.

      Yep, mine were dealer torqued higher too. Nothing a 1/2" impact torque wrench couldn't handle though.

      i had to use a ratchet strap and a 2x4 the first time..after that , i grease the area and put them on arm tight and tighten the rod to 120 foot lbs.. this year they came right off with no problem, it surprised me!!

    Do the wheels need to be the same size?
    We just boight a new ventrac and it came with a dual kit, a set of knobby tires on 8" wheels, and a set of slightly shorter turf tires on 10" wheels.

    You said that the wheels should be installed with the warning sticker facing inward. What if the sticker fell off?? and it will eventually !!!

      Once the wheels are mounted to the hub adapters,at the time of the initial set up it will be very obvious which way they go they only fit one way. Besides if you can’t use the valve stem and the taper on the lug nut openings To see which way to put them you have no business installing these anyway.I’ve had mine on six years now they are awesome I use them every spring and every fall when the ground is soft and whenever I have to do a steep hillside mowing job

    I'm confused. A 1" socket will not fit on the draw bolts. Bradley at Blue Force uses a 27mm socket but that seems loose. The owner's manual does not list draw bolt size.
    ????

    • @ventrac
      @ventrac  2 года назад

      The draw bolt would take a 1” socket. There may be excess paint on the draw bolt not allow the socket to slide on easily. If you email info@ventrac.com, we can send the instruction sheet as well.

      @@ventrac I bought a 1 1/16" deep socket which fits well and worked.
      Dealer suggests powder coat added to bolt dimensions.
      Is 150 ft-lbs torque on the steering cylinder adjustment bolt a typo?
      Sing, dance, laugh. Ventrac are wonderful. :)

    • @ventrac
      @ventrac  2 года назад

      That is not a typo! A big torque wrench is required :)

    • @rooster3019

      I use a 1" socket without problem except when I hit the draw botl to hard with the BFH. A few strokes with a large mill file removed the distorted metal. Thus 1" fits again. Since my tires are fully ballasted, I find it easier to remove the lug nuts, then the outer wheel, and then the extension since the tires are then very heavy.

    How much width is added to the tractor with the hub extension installed, but the dual wheels off the tractor? I have a smaller trailer and space is limited. Thanks!

    • @ventrac

      So it is actually either or as you can't run duals with the extensions.

      @@ventrac Thank you for responding! By hug extension, I meant the Inner Hub that's installed over the existing lug nuts, paired with the white cap shown in the video.
