      @@edwardlutz935, if it is one of the few mugs you have and you use it every day, it may be a bargain. I have purchased most of my cups and mugs from thrift stores for camping and traveling, but I was gifted a Yeti 16 oz tumbler and found handle for it. With the lid, my water stays cold and my hot drinks stay hot. Those properties save me money on fuel and ice. It saves me space and reduces the amount of garbage or waist I accumulate. Everything we own has a life cycle with cost. I feel the Yeti at close to two years old is paying me dividends at price per use and further saving me time and resources because I use it all the time. That DAV mug in the cabinet at home only cost a quarter, but it doesn't get much use anymore and my end up right back at the thrift store.

Summer of 1971 and hitchhiking up interstate 5 from CA got to Seattle. First stop was REI downtown in their old brick building. Went there to find a pay phone, remember them? Did some looking around, even back then couldn't afford to buy anything, just had money for food. Thank goodness now for Amazon and their locker system. Great store, just can't believe the prices there. Moving on, at 22:00 into ur video u explain ur parking style in West Seattle in a residential area. Sometimes you can find power outlets in parking garages or parking lots in general. If you have an extension cord and the ability to charge from AC, you can power up or top off battery banks.
    With having solar above, in a parking garage, look for stalls that are well lit by ceiling light fixtures to charge your battery banka via solar! You can also do this under a street light at night!

    • @StaticCamperVan
      @StaticCamperVan  Год назад

      That’s great for some. But I don’t really have a way to charge other than my solar panels. This is intentional.

    REI is so cool!!! That would spell danger zone for me, I'd do it anyway 😅 You shared some really beautiful views, ive never been in Washington state, it seems pretty nice. Your videos are a pleasant calm in a present stormy season. I really appreciate them and your gentle demeanor & great sense of humor! So glad you can find nice little eatery's with "real" food! I have a hard time adjusting to a twenty dollar sandwich tho....That may be my age talking...😂 Thank you so much, your inate kindness shines brightly. 💞

      We didn’t have a car! We just took advantage of the wonderful link rail system! Next time I will look for that place!🙏🙏🙏

    I use plain Greek yogurt in place of sour cream. There’s a subtle difference, but works fine for me.

    🌿🌸Here In Michigan just barely at start of Springtime and not desiring to hurry the Seasons along, yet pleasant to note the Autumnal Beauty of the changing leaf color in this video along the city streets and then within the Woodland Forest... 🌾🌿

    Nice jacket & beautiful store! Do they have an elevator for those that can't handle stairs? Lovely trail also, thanks for sharing!

    Thank you for taking the time to create this video. I have been an REI member for decades. I started out with mail order then online. I had never been to a store until 2011 and I flew into Seattle and my sister took me to that flagship store. I went to customer service and got them to look up my membership number and they printed it on a card for me. The store manager came out to meet me, because she said I had the oldest membership she had even seen. When I told her I had never been in one of their stores she was really surprised, but back in the day; army surplus, make your own or mail order were the only choice we had for camping and backpacking equipment. I purchased a replacement for my compass, that got a bubble form flying and my headlamp with a lighter one. Both items are still in use. Seattle traffic and the "5", were exhausting and reminded me of Houston.. once out of town I loved my visit to the state. Thank you for taking us along on your Seattle adventure.
