      I've noticed that a lot in alters it's super cool
      I'm actually kind of jealous of my Mel, because I'm transmasculine and she just radiates feminity and is surprisingly comfortable in our body for a nonhuman headmate

      My partner has at least one little that he isn’t aware of coming out. He is very very 😞 sad. He won’t speak. just looks so sad. Do you guys have any suggestions? The other nite we were at a restaurant when he/she came out and I felt a lil helpless as normally they come out in the car or a few times at home..... this was the 1st time in public. :-) thank you for all you guys do.

    • @kkaarrss
      @kkaarrss 5 лет назад +26

      @@mybuddyrobin It depends on their inner communication but based on our own experiences, we have a mute alter Ryan! He's a trauma holder and he gets really sad and frustrated sometimes because he can't communicate what he feels around people so he sometimes lashes out. To stop that we allowed him to express himself in a positive manner like with art/writing and stuff! Maybe yourpartner's little could make something for you as a gift and you could explain. That way you understand a little better and your partner's little feels involved!

    • @mybuddyrobin
      @mybuddyrobin 5 лет назад +15

      caden Thanks so much! He isn’t aware when the sad one comes out.... and thus far he won’t speak with me... just looks so sad, shoulders down.... breaks my heart.
      I do keep saying he is safe... and ask if he wants food or a drink or a anything. My partner is just starting to acknowledge stuff.... He knew how he works but I am the only person who knows. :’( must be so lonely having to hide who you are from everyone.

      goodness, Katrina. let’s bring things down a notch. I don’t think Sammy meant anything unkindly. it’s just true. we (I’m American) measure recipes in cups/tablespoons/teaspoons/etc. we don’t literally use tableware like they’re doing here, of course; there are more proper/specific tools. but even if Sammy did intend this comment to be malicious, lashing out about stereotypical traits like teeth won’t help anything. now let’s all go make some playdough and relax. :)

    Ah this was a lovely video, really sweet and educational too. Hi Tizzy (and Anna, love the drawing!). Thank you Tizzy for showing that people with DID can hold really valuable and important jobs, I'm sure that will be really helpful representation for a lot of people. I was wondering about how positive triggers might play out so thank you for covering that; I can definitely see how it can be challenging but a massive strength, and the kids you work with are very lucky :) Thank you Jamie for talking about Little Jake, it was really interesting and I've been wondering how he is doing. I hope he's OK. My heart breaks for all the littles in systems that aren't able to play with other kids, especially when it would be so good for them to do so. So I love seeing different ways that people can help littles to express themselves to be happy and safe. I'm an auntie of 7 but they're all getting big now, I wish I could be honorary auntie / big sister / safe adult for any kids, alters or otherwise, who'd need it!

      Ingredients
      2 tbs cooking oil
      4 tbs cream of tartar
      3 cups plain flour
      1 cup salt
      Food colouring
      2 cups water
      (The same ingredients as the recipe off the back of Mackenzie's brand of cream of tartar but with an extra cup of flour).
      Method
      Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl.
      Boil water and add food colouring (and any scented oils etc) to the water.
      Stir boiling water into the dry ingredients.
      Allow to cool enough to touch, then knead.
      If sticky keep adding more flour and kneading till it feels like playdough.
      This is the best recipe I have ever found in all my years working with children. Unfortunately I haven't found a completely heat free one that works as well.

    EASY RECIPE FOR HEAT FREE HOMEMADE PLAYDOUGH
    4 dl flour (400 ml)
    2 dl salt (200 ml)
    2 dl water (200 ml)
    2 tbs (15 ml) rapeseed oil (I think any oil you have at home would work though)
    Food colouring and essential oils*
    • Mix the flour, salt, water and oil until it becomes a lump-free dough. If the dough is too dry, add more water, and if the dough is too wet, add more flour. If you’re not sure if the dough is too wet, hold some of it in your hand and let it droop down. If it stretches, the dough is too loose.
    • Colour the dough to a colour you like with the food colouring (if you don’t have any at home you can skip this step. You can also separate the dough and make each section a different colour!) and add a few drops of essential oils if you’d like!
    • Have fun!
    BONUS! If you’ve made something you’d like to save, here’s how: Put your figure, or whatever you’ve made, in the oven (*if you plan on doing this, I’d suggest not adding any essential oils!) for 2-4 hours with your oven set to 100˚C. The time it takes for your figure to be done depends on the size and thickness of it. Let it cool down, and then you can either leave it as is or paint it with acrylic paints!
    This is a recipe most swedish schools, preschools and nurseries use. We call it ’trolldeg’ which literally translates to making-magic-dough! The things I made with this playdough, that were baked upon completion, when I was little (I’m 22 now) are still holding up. I saw one of my...eh...wonderful creations when I last visited my grandma, so you don’t have to worry about your figures going bad if you dry them out in the oven! I wish for all of you to be safe and happy and I’m sending you all the love and light I can muster!

    We'd really hope that in future videos you'd call all littles innocent. Not just trauma free littles. Little trauma holders are innocent too, also when they really don't feel like it. With trauma free little you can have back the sense of innocence that trauma holders lack, but that is something to help them (trauma holders) with, not agree with them.
    I know you didn't mean it that way, or didn't mean to be offensive. This is just highly triggering subject to us, and we thought something you do wanna be more considerate about, that's why we said it aloud. I understood what you meant and that it's hard to keep in mind all that can trigger someone because literally anything can, but all of us didn't understand it, because they hear what they believe is true.
    We do love you guys and your channel, so this is meant to be constructive.

    I’ve been looking into education and pedagogy courses and it helped me immensely with my troop of littles, found that Waldorf works out very well for most of us (you can’t make EVERYONEs dream of safety come true but you definitely can try implementing an arrangement of activities that all alters can participate in one if they want), also been looking at Unschooling and other homeschooling methods, I’ve been looking for an educational coach now and I think going down this pass makes the system feel better and United and regulated which is AMAZING. respecting and loving each other makes a big difference too. You can make yourself an education system like me, which helps a lot with taking care of different needs and getting to know your “care staff” and your kids or alters. you can choose from this and that and find what your system is needing really now and do twenty minutes a day which makes a big difference. I find its essential to deal with littles, it is way harder to go about life feeling upset all the time. Finding what makes your system at ease helps to find answers to your questions and find inner strength where it’s most needed. And most of all, grow inner comfort all throughout the system.

    I resonate with Anna wanting to play on swings. My littles constantly want to play on playgrounds or in the kid area at the mall near my house...but everyone just sees the weird adult body and not the happy kids inside

    Thank-you for being (all of) you! It's been scary, and your channel was the first I found, a few years back. Our little was so happy to see this, today. Things have been really hard, and there hasn't been much help. Thank-you, so much... She started this post, but I ended up at the front. So, thanks from both of us (...hell, all of us)!

    Great ideas for littles, thank you for sharing! We use stories and ‘In The Night Garden’ to make bed time safe for our littles who get anxiety at night. We also have a non-verbal little who uses basic sign language to express their needs - not full sentences, but they can do ‘please’ and ‘love you’ and some words like ‘drink’ or ‘tired’. (We just found an app that has video clips for words that you can search, we’re not trained in it or anything.) It’s so effective that another little has started copying because it’s often easier to get my hands to move than to try to communicate internally! I can also pass it off as an itch if they do it in work 😉 - Jay

    I really liked this video, even if I don't have the patience to "cook" playdough.
    Tizzy, does your workplace know about your DID system? I hope they are supportive and help you when you need to have a break or find a safe space. I'm sure your littles and your experiences help you to be amazing at your job.
    I love workplaces where you can be your own weird selves. I don't have DID but I sometimes dissociate (anxiety/depression and a little trauma), but most importantly I get to indulge myself in some of those childhood things that some people think adults shouldn't be allowed to do. I'm a Science teacher so I'm always learning new things, playing with sensory toys or experiments, and having animated discussions about memes and favourite dinosaurs and things instead of "boring" adult talk like mortgages and politics. I feed off the energy of my students, which is great when they're young and excited but not so great when they're older, disengaged and always on their phones. This video reminds me to keep trying to engage with my students no matter how much of a struggle it is.

      You sound like a passionate teacher 😊
      They know of our diagnosis, but they do not know our system. It is always ensured it is only Tizzy who fronts for work, similarly to it only being Jess who fronts for her job. But our littles do enjoy being co-con for some activities 😊

    We always have a really hard time sleeping or just night time in general but I found that all our littles love being read to. so we play audiobooks all night so if anyone wakes up freaked out they have something comforting to listen to and think about. Must have listened to the happy potter books 101 times reach by now lol

    Here in Norway we all grew up making something we call «trolldeig»(trolls dough directly translated), it’s exactly like play doh but without the pre cooking/boiling of the dough. Ingredienses are: 2 cups/parts flour, 1 cup/part salt and 1 cup/part water, and you just mix it up and you’re ready to go. You can make whatever you want of it, and when we’re finished we then we put it in the oven and dry them until they’re completely dry at 70-80 degrees celsius. When they’re dry you can take ordinary paint and paint your figures. It takes less than 5 Minutes to make:)

    We used to make bath salts and bath bombs with our support workers - it was a great sensory thing for little Ellie to stick her hands in and mix it and get messy but added bonus that I got a nice bath bomb to use for me!

    my sister has just relapsed into full DID and I just met an alter for the first time this morning. We've talked about it quite a bit, but I'd never met one before. I'm not freaking out exactly (and I absolutely will not in front of them, especially not yet), and I think we're communicating well, but ho boy

    • @alexk7973
      @alexk7973 5 лет назад +7

      DID isn't really something to grow out of and relapse into. It's always going to be who your sister is! But maybe it helps to look at it from this angle: your sister is comfortable enough around you to let you get to know more sides to her. Those alters you met/ will be meeting might have been staying back and assessing you to see whether you're a safe person to be around. So you must have done something right! Congratulations! 😊

    • @symphony_in_plaid4592
      @symphony_in_plaid4592 5 лет назад +1

      @@alexk7973 Well, the thing is, she had it for quite a while, and never told me and I never guessed. She had an entire experience where they all, like, reintegrated or whatever (I just literally can't think of the word right now) a year or two ago, and she thought she was permanently "better." And then she fell and hit her head and they came back.
      I do feel privileged to know them now, but I think it's a little upsetting for her, too.

    • @alexk7973
      @alexk7973 5 лет назад +3

      @@symphony_in_plaid4592 it would be upsetting to think you were cured of what you percieved as a disease and then find out you weren't. Did is a condition that, once the brain has learned the mechanism, it can always repeat it, when it feels the need to. If the alters she has met now are exactly the same as before, they might have never properly integrated, but rather quieted down, either because they thought she could handle life without their help or because she was too upset by them? The idea of did is, that the person you know as your sister is only the part that fronts most, but is just as much part of who the essence of your sister is, as anyone else in the system. The person you know best is charged with handling every day life, kind of like the “outside-ambassador“ for everybody. So if the brain thought, she was too upset by knowing about her alters, it might have just built up really strong walls around them so she wouldn't feel the other alters anymore and feel like she was cured... maybe if the person in the system you know best is able to communicate with the others, she can find out what happened to them exactly during the past few years! I'm wishing you, her and her entire system all the best!

    One thing I find really interesting is the different relationships people have with the internet when it comes to their littles. I guess Tizzy shared because they aren’t always on the internet but for people like the DissociaDid system they share nothing about their littles in order to protect them from people who might exploit them.

    • @HiddenSparkle
      @HiddenSparkle 4 года назад +1

      Hey - our littles do not use any social media or messaging platforms at all to avoid any being exploited. We are stable enough as a system to be able to protect ourselves on the internet.
