- Today we're going to be reviewing Dungeons of Hinterberg, a new action hack/slash RPG from a new indie studio. The game takes place in the Austrian town of Hinterberg, where the sudden appearance of monsters and magic have made the town into a tourist trap.
And the game released today on steam and Xbox.
Disclosures: I was given a review copy of this game.

dont worry about the people blinking in and out of existence, they're just using fast travel.
Found this game randomly on game pass and ended up getting it on steam as it clicked pretty quickly. Love finding a cool, undersung indie game.
I absolutely love this game. They should definitely keep going with this. Hope its not a one off
Pretty fair review. Not normally a game I would buy but Gamepass games surprise me often and this was no exception.
The people disappearing in town gives Dreamcast/GameCube vibe. In a good way. You’re probably a little too young.
😊 oh really, ive never seen NPCs do that, must be an old school thing, its fine, it doesnt bother me, its kinda funny
finally someone mention this game
It literally only launched today. Given the DEI stink to it, this reviewer is likely one of the small dozen even playing the crap.
finally? it literally just launched yesterday
@bobroberts2581 imagine letting others control if you play a game 🐑
@@bobroberts2581 You're not a very bright person huh
@@bobroberts2581it's a small indie game made with passion and is one of the best games of the year so far, if you have an issue playing as a woman at all then there's something wrong with you, not the game
Is this strictly digital only or physical copy as well?
😊 i played the demo, its fun, its a cozy game just like LAKE, me personally i wish i could skip fighting the demons or make them super easy to hack and slash and just play the game like a walking sim, the graphics look neat, i really like the hoverboard it reminds me of Sunset Overdrive, ill wish list it and pick it up later on sale.
The NPCs phasing in and out of existence is triggering Cyberpunk 2077 PTSD from me
its an obvious reference to persona 5
@5:14 Jesus, all games should have that feature! I ran into that issue, getting hit from off screen in Hades and instantly refunded, I hate crap like that where you don't even know which way the "shooter" aims from.
Ah, ok, hard pass, no jumping in this sort of game is a big "nope".
wow you're so weak, can't refund Hades for such crap
The character designs screams, "we had consultancy companies working closely with us"
The visuals are off putting enough that most won't even give this a chance, even if it's a decent game..
Bro, the art style literally looks like the corporate art style with those "inoffensive" disproportionate and goofy looking characters
Yup. I was trying to put my finger on what it was about the “look” of it.
It reminds me of that crunchyroll fake anime that flopped a while back or Steven’s universe.
You just know it when you see it.
I don't know what kind of art style you want, but for me the cool artstyle is one of the many components of the game I enjoy.
@@jonathanlange5769 Bro it looks like corporate memphis (aka alegria art aka big tech art) what do you mean "the cool art style" .. to each their own I guess
Disagree, a lot of Japanese games have similar art styles. This is literally the same color as most Persona games or Olli Olli World. They are going for a wholesome and chill vibe style, not some groundbreaking style with unique visuals. Just because it's colorful doesn't mean it is corporate style, the corporate art style in the video game industry is more like Fortnite coming from Unity. This is just not that
I agree, the street style although looking nice does immediately sound alarm bells for a souless game, which is why i looked for reviews first, and it seems great :)
Remove the combat in the game and it becomes a great fantasy hiking sim. Sadly the combat removes point to my 6.5 score.
😅 i agree i dont care for the combat or action rpg, if you could give me a setting to turn off the fights or lower their health to really low so i can get pass it quickly, other than that it feels like a Cozy Casual Relaxing game such as LAKE
Why is the first minute of the video you talking about your vacation? The first minute of a video is the most important to capture the audience's interest.
What are you on about? Dude spoke about him being on vacation for a good 15 or so seconds and didn't even go into that much detail about it.
Get a grip mate
the vacation is the game. literally lol. restart the video
Did you turn it off?
Heres the thing about game reviews. People are here for the review and most likely looked it up or got recommended to the algorithm. It really doesn’t matter in this video because the title and topic already hold up super well and most people are here thru choice. Have a good one tho.
Great review! How political/woke is it?
imagine asking that question about a video game..
How are you not embarrassed to comment this?
It's the wokiest. Wookies are all over in the game, talking about lib things like human rights and basic dignity. Stay far away.
Not everything in life is about "WOKE"🤦♂️
@TheVintress imagine being subscribed to a Suicide Squad RUclips channel?
It looks ugly, even for cell shading.
