- Let me share the story of my unforgettable fishing trip in the Adriatic (Hrvatska/Croatia) that was an absolute blast! Picture this: I cast my line into the crystal clear waters, and bam! Right from the get-go, I reel in a massive saddled sea bream that was practically begging to be caught. 🐟🎣 And that was just a taste of what was to come!
As the sun was setting on my fishing adventure, I thought, "Why not give it one last cast?" And what do you know? Luck was on my side as I managed to hook a substantial gold blotches grouper, the one that had been playing hard to get throughout the entire trip. 🌅🐠
Every single one of those fish fell for the charms of a tiny, hyper-realistic soft plastic lure and a petite micro jig, both working their magic on ultra-light gear.

Hi, nice video. I'm from Croatia but haven't really fished on sea that much. I'm fishing in freshwaters like some lakes and ponds. You should try to fish in freshwater with ultra light tackle because there are some nice bass, perch and of course pike in them. Hope to see you return to Croatia and do some more fishing.
I was just in Croatia a few weeks ago, but wasn't able to get much fishing done unfortunately! But when I am back I would love to explore some fresh water fishing, try to catch some pike for sure! Thank you for the comment 🫡

Yeah it is an amazing fish! Was so happy to get one on camera after I caught one in the week prior off camera. This one was much bigger though! So happy with it :))

Hvala puno brat! I'll be back soon for sure! it is very deep in some areas, 30+ metres not far off shore, there are some areas up to 100 metres deep from memory of looking at an ocean depth chart! Will be back in Croatian waters very soon!

Nice catch, but the only risk when fishing in the deeper areas that you can get stuck in the rocks like very common
Yeah I found that out when I was in Croatia last month, lost a lot of lures to the bottom unfortunately :(

Uhhh that is a tricky one, they're not a popular lure, I found them in a sale section of a small tackle shop in Australia, if you google this: 'PUNI-IKA - Realistic Baby Squid Lure LUMICA' you should be able to find some online! All the best :)

Of course! The set up I used was:
Rod: Samurai Reaction 7’ 2-4 lbs (any 1-3kg rod would work well)
Reel: Daiwa 2022 Exist 2000 D-P (any 1000 to 2500 size spin reel would work well too)
Line: Daiwa Saltiga 12 braid PE 0.6 (any 6-10lbs braid would work)
Leader: Nomad Tufflock 100% Fluorocarbon 8 lbs (just some light leader material, preferably between 8 and 12lbs)

did some jigging later in the video, it's a new concept to me but I'm pretty sure they call it shore jigging, if you watch to the end I catch a nice little grouper on a small metal jig :))

Just fish with small lures and you should catch some small species close to shore pretty easily! Good luck :)
