Moderen wood stoves rock. They use a 1/4 of the wood as a fireplace. A fireplace sucks all the air out of the dwelling and up the chimney. Wood stoves use a re burn system , the hot fumes or smoke is wasted energy but a wood stove re burns these gasses which makes them super efficiant.
But be very careful as the wood stove also uses up alot of CFM of air in the dwelling, if you find yourself feeling really sleepy open a window quick as the carbon dioxide is at dangerous levels. Always when heating with a flame keep some sort of fresh air hole open, crack a window somewhere about an inch or make a 4 inch screened air vent in the wall .

Great practice for the colder temps just ahead and excellent advice keeping moisture in the air with a pot of water on the stovetop👍👍

Looks great VON. Hey go to a antiques store and see if you can find an old stove top coffee perkolator . No electricity need to make your coffee.

Man I miss my wood burner… it’s been sitting out in the garage dormant for about 15 years..

Hey Von. The glass door is a giant plus. Mine is metal at the moment. The kid slammed the door on an over long piece of wood....you know the rest, lol. I've been burning wood or coal most of my life. Gotta love wood heat. Need a tour of the cabin some day...Thanx Bro

I put a wood stove in my 1400sqft house and it can heat the house no problem in the middle of a cold snap/blizzard. I plan to connect some heater ducts to it in the next few weeks.
