  • This biology video tutorial discusses the ATP cycle which explains the interconversion of ATP and ADP. The conversion of ATP into ADP is an exergonic process that releases energy and an inorganic phosphate group. The conversion of ADP into ATP is an endergonic reaction that requires the input of energy and releases H2O as a product.

    I've been curious about ATP since 1993 or so. What they're not telling is that ATP is synthesised in vast quantities and is bio-chemically closely related to DNA, RNA and associated protein production. A building site worker, doing a full-days' graft can catalyse easily as much as 50% of their body weight, in ATP during that work. Water & oxygen and food proteins go together to to produce this outcome. I posit firmly, that Vigorous physical exercise, of this kind reinforces the body's DNA (a real expression of epigenetics); and which applies equally, if not more so, to brain health, as the cytoskeleton of the brain & its Microtubule Associated Proteins rely heavily if not entirely on the chemical catalysis of ATP. I'm a physicist not a biologist but I know I'm right. Well I know about the 50% body-weight synthesis because I copied a New Scientist piece on the ATP cycle, that was published in around 1993/4. RNA has AMP (Mono) and the body's primary cell food/fuel is based in a Tri-phosphate nucleotide; - being ATP. Right?

    Except how does this work with inorganic phosphate. I thought it was composed of Pi? If that's the case, how do you create a phosphate anhydride linkage between phosphate ions that do not have hydroxyl groups?

    please explain why H2O (water) is required to transform ATP to ADP! There is no explanation for the role of water in generating the transformation from ATP to ADP.

    Would anybody like to help me with a chem reaction
    I want to mix chlorine with water and then pour a trihalomethane like (chloroform) and then I want to add granular activated carbon to see if chlorine and chloroform would filter from the water

    • @nicehobby8662
      @nicehobby8662 5 лет назад

      See the bonding of the chemical formulas. Like ionic, covalent, hydrogen bonding. Also refer to ionization state and electronegativity.
      Chloroform is formed when you mix chlorine with water. Even with small amounts of chlorine would contaminate the water. So...
      In order to remove the contaminants, you need to do reverse osmosis. When the solution is push through the membrane of the reverse osmosis filter system, you can probably remove at most 99%. We can't really filter it out completely at 100%.
