hi could you please help to solve this question?
    When f(x) is divided by x - 1 and x + 2, the remainders are 4 and -2 respectively. Hence, find the remainder when f(x) is divided by x^2 + x - 2.

      (x-1)(x+2) = x^2+x-2
      f(x) / x - 1 = Q1(x) + 4/x -1
      (Q1(x) + 4/x-1) / x+2 = Q2(x) + (4 / x^2+x-2) - (2 / x+2)
      = Q2(x) + (4 / x^2+x-2) - (2x-2 / x^2+x-2)
      = Q2(x) - (2x+6 / x^2+x-2)
I don't know if this is right, I never learned how to do this type of problem.

EDWARD JOHNWOOD Times two for the whole equation (-p+q=6) which result (-2p+2q=12). This new equation is needed in order to perform elimination method in simultaneous to find value of p
