    I have one. Paid 900 at Cabelas 2 years ago. I had a Citori in 12 ga but wanted an affordable 20 ga...You can't go wrong with this gun. Not at all.
    Light ? Yes. Recoil ? A bit. Just man up. In a hunting situation, you do not feel a thing.

    I really like the looks of that shotgun would like to have 1 in 20 gauge, but does the recoil really bother that guy shooting that bad ?

      It's a good field gun. But it's not ideal if you're going to put 100-200 rounds in a day through it like we do for trap or skeet. No doubt it would be good for walking through a field all day for upland game.

    5.5 pounds? No wonder you didn't like the recoil

    If it wasn’t for the excessively heavy trigger and poor workmanship the Stevens would be a decent gun.
