1. Insert a new cut flip key remote fob in ignition and turn key to the ON position for 10 minutes and 15 seconds.
2. Within 45 seconds turn the chip flip key remote fob to OFF and then back to the ON position for 10 minutes and 15 seconds.
3. Within 45 seconds turn the flip key remote fob to OFF and then back to the ON position for 10 minutes and 15 seconds.
4. Turn flip key remote fob clicker OFF then back ON. The key is now programmed.
Start vehicle to test key.
This programming procedure will program a new flip key remote fob to the following years of Chevrolet Malibu :
2014 Chevy Chevrolet Malibu
2015 Chevy Chevrolet Malibu
2016 Chevy Chevrolet Malibu

This worked great on my 2014! I happened to have a new fob in my glove compartment that I hadn’t got the key cut for yet. I took a swim with my fob so this trick saved the day! Thank you so much!

Great video will give a try for sure. ONLY thing you MIGHT be wrong is that turning key right into starting engine after car was sitting there for 45 minutes might delay reaction since FUEL PUMP needs sec or two to pump gas to engine. Still awesome vid thx

Hello I’m trying to program my remote. What if my security light keeps flashing and never goes off.
Thanks for the info it worked really well but the only thing that you fail to mention is by the third time turning the key your security light should be flashing knowing that the key was registered to the car

Mine worked the first time but the next day my car didn’t want to start with this key I programmed maybe because I’m still not able to get my new key fob to close all the way and the green part falls out.😓

Does this work when the "service theft deterrent" is on the screen?
No - try locking the divers door with your key from the outside and the unlocking it twice ( unlock twice without locking in between ) Several different things can trigger the theft deterrent system but sometimes doing this will disable it.
@@PYR-Auto Hey I just wanted you to know that I followed what you said and it worked like a charm! I will add that my “service theft deterrent” was on at the time of this, and whenever I turned the key to the off part of the 10mins, my alarm would go off. The third time, I noticed my little theft deterrent logo was blinking, so I’m guessing that indicated that it was ready to pair because my car ended up coming on finally after following your steps of the video.

You gotta make sure your doors are unlocked before you start

I lost my keys but the blank key don't work don't rotate to the ignition, what I need to do?
It sounds the key is is either not cut or was not cut properly since it wont turn the ignition. If the key has already been cut but does not turn the ignition - you may need a new properly cut key.
