I listened twice. When you spoke fast I understood the general meaning. When you spoke slow I understood every word and I was able to write them. Very useful exsercise. Thank you Joe!

A me è nata una forte passione per le lingue ma non sono portato, non so se la mia fatica sia collegata al mio essere sensibile,introverso e ai miei blocchi oppure no perchè ho notato che la maggior parte delle persone riesce a studiare le lingue facilmente, non so se sono nate tutte con la predisposizione innata e io insieme alla minoranza siamo gli unici sfigati a non averla e se serve avere un talento per non faticare con le lingue

Volevo dire la mia su una cosa che mi ha aiutato moltissimo a costruire le frasi in inglese:
Avevo un amico americano che quando parlava in italiano traduceva esattamente dall'inglese, "quello lo pugno" , "sono bravo a aggiustando la macchina" .... insomma traduceva giusto ma in italiano era sbagliato.
Questi suoi errori pero' mi hanno aiutata moltissimo quando mi sono trasferita in USA e mi sono trovata a dover imparare velocemente l'inglese.
Potrebbe essere un suggerimento per una puntata, ti fa capire rapidamente come costruisce la frase un inglese.

The first lestening enought difficult, the second, slightly slower, better. Obviously with subtitles 100% comprehnsion. As usual very useful.

Well, as to me the first conversation is easier than the second one but they are both interesting and useful. I learned idioms I didn't know: "I may as well", "I'll give you a shout", "I'll go for"...

Very good exercise! Thanks Joe🙏 Personally I had less difficulties in the first part even though I didn't catch "at all" in the sentence "Can I help you at all?" ...I'm used to "Can I help you?" ... so I heard something sounding like "to" ... then with the slow listening I got it. 2 times fast speech ( everything understood) and 3 times slow speech in order to write down words.
The second part (return product) was harder in particular for CAN'T and CAN : there was something that didn't sound good in my head, on one side I heard "we can offer a refund" and on the other side I head "BUT we can offer store credit or you can swap for a different size ..." So I didn't hear "CAN'T" but finally I got it in the slow speech . Understood all at the first listening except the mentioned point above: I listened to it twice both of them, stopping the slower part at every sentence in order to write. For "roughly" ok the meaning BUT I didn't remember how to write it😬
Finally, very nice the explanation at the end of each piece. Thanks

Grazie Joe per i tanti consigli che dai agli italiani riguardo all'inglese, permettimi di dare a te un piccolo consiglio quando parli in italiano: ho notato che parli in italiano alla stessa velocità di come si parla in inglese e "mangi" anche alcune parole. In italiano si parla più lentamente che in inglese e le parole devono essere pronunciate chiaramente. Spero di esserti stato di aiuto come tu sei sempre di aiuto a chi ti segue. 🙂

Hi Jo as always good and clear your teaching on this useful dictations,i would never understand in add to the forms you explained "swap " as well, i could get what it meant "choose " if i were in your shoes ,anyway on the first fast ok ,on the second i understood everything slow ,but speaking fast i lost something words, it's good for me.

I was able to follow the dialogue and understand its meaning in the faster version, but I had to listen the slower version to understood perfectly all the words and the grammar.
The slow version ok..100% understanding first time... but the fast one. I had to listen to it 2/3 times, haaaa....
