The RV industry needs more owners to be like the Alliance owners. Thank you for your help at the Florida RV show, we are almost to the end now and purchasing our new Alliance.
We have owned our alliance avenue 30 RLS for almost 2 years. We've contacted Alliance on several occasions for some small issues that happened. We almost always got a reply email within 24 hours. I do not like hounding someone for follow-up responses, so this was very refreshing. Like you, I felt like they always went above and beyond to take care of us. They have earned our future business
Great Video, thank you for posting a positive and informative comparison. I am on my 3rd Grand Design product in six years. Like everyone who owns a trailer, I have had experiences with dealerships and manufacturers. In this case Grand Design. Our most recent experience with Grand Design Cusomer Service is far short of of how we were treated back in 2018. As they grow larger, the smaller and less important each individual customer becomes. I am glad there are new companies like Alliance and Brinkley to take the lead in innovation and the "Customer Experience", it is needed. God's Blessings.
So just an FYI. I have owned a Solitude since 2021 and 100% of my warranty work and recall work has been done my mobile techs. GD even picked up the trip charge on most of them. This is our 2nd 5th wheel, and this exact mobile tech thing is why we switched from a Forest River product. I also would not get too excited about those cable slides. Bottom line is these RV manufacturers are all the same in the end. 1 company sells out then their kids and brother start a new company that is the next best thing. THen it gets bought and goes to hell. I know so many people in Paradigms and SOlitudes that are eyeballing Brinkleys. It is a never ending cycle !! Great video though. I would be interested what your thoughts are on going from a traditional rig to a toy hauler. I keep thinking about it, but I hate the living area in every toy hauler I see. Keep it up!!!
We have had Coachman, Heartland, and Alliance. We loved each one. We love our 295MK. It has had issues and we have been working to get them resolved since our purchase in March 2023. We hope that they will be resolved soon. I think the fancier you get, the more of a chance for something to go wrong. Jeremiah is the one who really sold us on Alliance at the RV Show in Salt Lake City. He's a rockstar!
I have been researching fifth wheels for about eight months. I have owned two Cougars several years ago and had my share of issues, but those were for weekend use and served us well. But after my eight months of research and several shows and dealers it comes down to just two. Alliance and Brinkley. I am a huge fan of the Brinkley based on the quality and customer service, things like the drawers are wood with dovetailed seams. That being said Alliance is not far off the mark and they do have a larger selection of floor plans. As far as GD the whole “frame flex” aka broken frame is amazing total deal killer for me. I do believe that both Alliance and Brinkley are setting the standard for quality and customer service in the RV industry as since Covid…well we all know the story. Great video and this helps me narrow down my decision. I hope to purchase in the fall and will be retiring the following fall and plan to “most time” RV. Thanks again for your video. God Bless.
Hi Guys Thanks for being so honest and candid with regards to your comparisons. We are on our second Valor because of all the problems we encountered on our first 21 model 36 v 11. Yes it was a Covid disaster but Alliance did everything possible to put it right and when it was apparent that it still had issues they helped us swap it out for a brand new 23 40 V 13. We have had far fewer problems with this rig and the girls in customer service are fantastic. Having seen the new rigs at the Tampa show we noticed the improvements in quality and workmanship. This was good to see because as you said Alliance listens to it customers and then does what is necessary.
I have an Alliance 29RL. It is fantastic. What's broken is warranty service. My trailer has been at the dealer for over 6 weeks for warranty work. Nothing huge but the Alliance warranty process takes FOREVER! So much for after the sale customer support.
Thank you both for your honest review. We're still researching different models, and to be honest, your personal experience with Alliance truly impressed us. God bless...Safe travels😊
Thank you! We are in the process of deciding between Alliance and Grand Design. But, we're leaning towards Alliance after a lot of comparison research.
Coley is the man! At the end of the day watching him and his bother Ryan talk to people all day at the Tampa show in 2023 is what sold us!! I didn’t see any other owners / CEO’s help there teams ALL DAY!!
Ryan, at the Tampa show we spent a lot of time talking with Jeremiah about Alliance that being said I was looking at Paradigm, now I am looking at the Valor 40v13. It was a very nicely laid out unit and the garage is what we really liked. We also spend a lot of time at Brinkley and in my opinion they are more solidly built than Alliance only drawback is the lack of floor plans in the Brinkley. Enjoyed meeting you at that show keep up the videos and podcasts.
Awesome!! So there are things the we loved about Brinkly, at the end of the day there are a VERY new company and before I purchase something as expensive I wanted to see what hey do for about 5 years first, Best of luck in your RV search, ion we can help any more please dont hesitate to reach out!
We are following closely because the Valour 44V14 is near the top of our list. We appreciate your honesty & opinion I would say GD is slipping a bit in our rating but we're just 1 little Canadian buyer, but we have been researching since before Covid. We seen you at today is somedays donation in Tampa and wanted to pick your brain but you were pretty busy. Look forward to more evaluations on Valour & Alliance Cheers😊😊
My wife and I will hopefully be going full-time traveling this next summer. We'd really like to hear more about your plans for your community. Love your videos every week. Thankyou for what you do.
We are originally from Maine. We just got married in September. My wife is a travel nurse. We also are doing the long process of research to live the RV life full time. I own a Harley Davidson and we share a Can-Am outlander. So we will be needing a toy hauler.
We have owned multiple campers from pop-ups to travel trailers. Our first TT was a Gulfstream Kingsport which was reasonably priced and for being an entry level unit, we had very little issues with it. Sadly we lost it in a freak storm that blew it over and it was a total loss. We replaced it with a Grand Design Imagine 2800BH which was more than twice the price of the previous one. Right from the beginning we had issues. First time out with it, after hooking up water, electric and our waste hose and putting things up outside, my wife said we have water all over the place inside. I quickly shut off the water to the camper and ran inside to find the main living area floor covered in water. After an hour of cleaning up the water and verifying that all of the faucets were off before turning the water back on to see where the water is flowing from. I removed all panels and/or drawers to access water connections in the area water was flowing from. When the water was turned back on, we found that one of the lines to the water pump was never connected. We were told from our dealership that they had done a complete systems check to ensure everything was working as it should. B.S. There's no way they hooked up the water and ran it to ensure everything worked properly. It seems like every time we took it out, I was fixing something, re-installing trim, tightening up this, that and just checking every visible fastener to make sure they are tight. Now, we are wanting to upgrade to a 39-43' 5th wheel or toy hauler and we have been looking mainly at Alliance and Brinkley products. My main complaint with Alliance models is the quality of their drawers. From the ones we've looked at Paradigm 395DS and the Valor 44V14, the drawer boxes had rough edges and I wish they were dove tailed construction.
Wow, so sorry yall had to go thru all of that with the GD, I do agree I wish Alliance did the drawers a little better. For us at the end of the day we didn’t really want to go with a brand new manufacturer, ultimately we didn’t wanna be guinea pigs especially at that price point!
Hello Millers we are less than a year into the RV life , with that said we are on our second Grand Design . Like most our first buy just wasn’t the right fit for what we are hoping to do in 2024 as far as traveling Thanksgiving we bought a 2024 5th wheel , when we looked at GD and Alliance , we found that Alliance didn’t make the floor plan in the size and weight class we wanted to be in. Also note the dealer we worked with was trying to advise us That at this time the early 24 Alliances had some quality control issues they where working through. As a 48yr mechanic i love the wiring and plumbing in Alliances along with all Manuel switches , Management being an Interior Designer chose the GD Ask me @ the end of 2024 and we will see if we made the right chose. thanks for the videos we look forward to meeting you all on the road.
We did consider another GD, as well as Brinkley when we know we where going to make a switch, at the end of the day for us watching Ryan’s and Coley (and there team) interact with everyone and be present all the time at shows is what sold us!!
Thank you so much for helping us confirm that we want to move forward with Alliance. You guys are very informative. We want to go full time in 2025 and I’m about to be your biggest fan, learning all I can. Thanks again, from your fellow Texans. 😊
Glad it was helpful! What Model / Floorpan are you thinking with Alliance? Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions! (www.millersinmotion.com)
Today, we moved out of our Cyclone after 4 years. It was a sad day. we loved our time in the RV when it was not 6 months at a time at the dealership."😢😢😢😢 Sometimes, it is the dealer , I have never spoken to Heartland. I am taking delivery from same dealer of the 44v14 Valor next Tuesday, and so far I have seen soooo many videos about the Valor. The build is by far better than my Cyclone "covid build". I added 2 solar panels and 4 batteries to the Valor and insisted of the main seeting area, we switch out the sofa bed and stock recliners For something with less effort to close the slides. I have been very impressed with the fact that the person added all my solar has been on the phone with alliance talking him through his efforts. I am looking forward to spending time in our new 44v14. By the way, we changed out the sleeper sofa before I watched your video doing the same thing. We r not full-time , however, our weekends start on Wednesday, and we r on the go. I am looking forward to a great experience using mobile service, if needed. Should I get an inspection before taking delivery?
Thats awesome! Well about he 44 not leaving the old RV behind. We also encourage people to get an inspection, even if it is perfect leaving the factory in Elkhart, transportation services can be a bit hard on RV;s if they dont care, so you never know what condition things will be in when it gets to the dealer!
I've had G.D., Forest River, Jayco and Alliance all of the top end models unfortunately the Alliance was built during covid so it had it's problems. I will say that Alliance went out of the way to make things right. I've been on the fence about my next RV but I think after watching this video you've coinvested me to stick with Alliance. First time watching your videos. Thanks for your input and yes I subscribed to your channel. Safe travels!
Awesome! at the end of the day you have to do what’s best for you, but I agree alliance seems to go above and beyond to make things right! Thanks for the Sub!
Left a comment/question on your FB site as we were typing while the video was on the TV. Great video! As you know we are having our own issue of frame flex but we do have an outstanding person helping us through this. I do think Grand Design is handling this issue very poorly based on so many other people’s experience, to include other content influencers. At this point, I can’t say who our favorite RV assembler is. The jury is still out. I am impressed with Alliance and Brinkley though…so far. I keep wondering where Grand Design is as in the TV Unplugged series, our recent RV Content Creator Meetup in Tampa, and other events. I guess like they feel like they no longer have to make an impression any longer or that throwing money to something is good enough. It’s really not! Anyway, that is out 2 cents. We completely understand now why you went with Alliance. Hello! Grand Design are you listening yet?
Thanks for the tip on purchasing an RV in Texas. Once we fully retire we plan to winter in Texas. Will purchase in another state. Really appreciate you bring that to our attention!!!
We ordered a 44v14 (talked with you in Tampa) and have had 2 Grand Designs (2020 reflection and 2016 Momentum). I like the PVC roofs on the valors and I like the lack of touch screens. Redundant slide switches are also nice. Before ordering the 44v14, we looked at the new Momentum 414m. It was a very similar layout, but the MSRP was about $10k more. I've never had one of these grand designs with a warranty, so no comments on their service, but I've heard such great things about Alliance's customer service.
We bought a Paradigm 310 in December. Ordered it with independent suspension, your video on IS solidified the decision. We are on our first real trip. A few minor issues which is annoying, but like the space inside.
Great video. I have appreciated the alliance service as well. I bought a used 2022 rig but have had great service. I chose to order some parts through other service lines on some issues like a window shade because it was cheaper (no warranty), but their response has been great. My only ongoing frustration is trying to figure out how water is coming into the driver's side undercarriage bay when it rains .... I really like the Alliance forum....great site for Alliance owners
Interesting comment about azdel 'cannot delaminate'. My azdel travel trailer produced in Mar 2022 was returned to manufacturer in Jan of 2024 for significant delamination. I predict (based on my experience) that the azdel vacuum lamination process will prove to be a major problem for the RV industry in the coming years.
If you give alliance enough time they will get their share of bad reviews. I’ve also watched rv techs say they hate the cable slides. The bottom line is all rvs will fail eventually no matter what brand it is. When you make this purchase you should know owning one of these can and will be a problem eventually
No company is perfect, that’s a big reason we only took our experience into account when making this video. Cable slide have problems, but at least I have a better shot of fixing it than I do with a Schwintek. After 3 Schwintek failures on our old RV and the issues I had with Grand Design customer service it was a no brainer to switch for us. We have loved our alliance!
I’ve heard so many complaints about Grand Design and their lack of customer support that I’ll never own one. In one of their videos they said that they take delamination seriously yet they won’t use Azdel. I’ve heard several RUclipsrs saying that GD hangs up on them when they call with a problem. And did I say frame failure? They seem to lead the pack with that issue. You may already know but Alliance and several other manufacturers have stopped using Schwintek because of its failure rate, hence the cable slides. Personally I like the way Schwintek looks but I’ll take cable if it’s going to be more reliable. Maybe I missed it but I didn’t hear your preference.
So far it’s the cable system only because we had 3 Schwintek failures in 18 months. We are doing a 6 month update with our valor soon and plan to talk about the cable system!
We currently have a GD but are looking to buy our next rig in the next couple of years. As are tossed up between the Paradigm, the Solitude and the Brinkley. We have not had any service issues with GD in the last 4 years. Not sure what we will do🤷♀️
After 8 months of obsessive research on so many brands of fifth wheels, trying to decide between Paradigm and Solitude. The Solitude inam considering has a WALK IN pantry which is steering me towards the Grand Design
Just do your due diligence on the companies themselves. We had a horrific customer service experience with Grand Design. Now, after owning our alliance valor for about a year and a half alliance has been amazing to work with!
Great information, thanks for sharing your thoughts. We've already ruled out GD and are currently looking for our next RV. Is the AC fairly quiet and how do you like the main washroom in your Valor?
So the AC is about the same as GD, it’s not “silent” but it’s pretty nominal. As far as the washroom, our Grand Design Solitude 390RK had a TON more room, but there is nothing we can’t do in our valor that we did in our previous RV!
We currently own a Momentum G Class. We have had no issues with anything really. But we are looking into an Alliance in fact the same model that you have is one that we are considering. Thank you for the comparison it was very helpful.
@@Millers_in_Motion Is it because of avoiding potential future problems that others are having? Just curious. Reason I ask. That's exactly why we won't buy a Momentum because of all the problems others are having and sharing on Facebook and RUclips. It's tough too because their floor plan and nice interior features my wife really likes. And we both like how they separated the garage from the rest of the living area. But we don't want to get into a situation to have to fix something that we can't afford.
Question on Texas buying! Looking at Alliance and needed clarification on buying from a dealer in TX Vs out of state and getting work done. Loved your video btw it helped decide! Because we own GD now. Would it be best to buy out of TX with Alliance??
So I think at the end of the day make sure you trust your dealer no matter where they are, and make sure that you have confidence in there service department. (I would flat out ask for Service Stats and Info). Your buying inti that dealership as much as you are the manufacturer! Where in Texas are you located?
Great video. My son recently decided to buy a toy hauler. I suggested that he look at both Alliance and Grand Design...He ordered a Brinkley, go figure. I prefer a motorhome, currently iwn a Winnebago, but plan to go with Tiffin next.
Can’t go wrong with Tiffin. It is nice to have the option of going back to the manufacturer for service and repairs specially with the folks who built the unit. You don’t get that type of service with RV dealerships today. Unless of course you want to drop your unit off and let it sit for six months and probably have to do the repair yourself because it wasn’t done right in the first place. Our experience with Tiffin has been great so far. Complete chassis service in and out in 3 hours or less. Customer service top notch.
So we had 3 Schwintck silde fallers in our old coach and the than routine maintenance on the cable slide on the Valort we havent had to touch the cable slides. We do want some more time before we definitively same which we prefer, but the full breakdown will be coming soon!
Awesome video as we are in the process of moving from a Reflection to Valor. You mentioned when buying from a dealership in Texas you have to go back to that dealer for work. We live out of state and are working with a Texas dealer for our purchase. Do you have any advice on how warranty will work in that situation?
@Millers_in_Motion 40v13 for many reasons. 1) The garage was the size we needed 2) hitch weight for a SRW 3500 3) we liked the interior entertainment space the best (distance between couch and TV)
By no means is this any disrespect. But does alliance treat everyone this way or is the relationship you have with them because of your platform. For instance i loved your video on Morryde, made my list, emailed them and was told to contact a vendor (they did give me links). I guess what I am saying is the everyday person doesn’t always get treated the same from these companies.
Don’t take any at all!! So when we submitted our issue we used a different email address than the one attached to the Channel. So between that and asking other owners experiences I honesty think what we experienced with Alliance is how it is for everyone!!
We’ve contacted Alliance with questions and had nothing short of a great experience and quick reply! We met with several Alliance employees at the Tampa RV Show and they were all so friendly and welcoming and open to feedback!
We did, at the time they were brand new and we really didn’t care for the toy hauler floor plan, so that at the end of the day was the real reason. In my personal opinion, I think the top two towable RV manufacturers at the moment our Alliance in Brinkley. At that point it’s gonna come down to what you’re really looking for.
We own a 2022 GD Imagine. Had the dreaded Schwintek Slide issue. Campers Inn replaced the slide H-track. Other than the slide track, no real issues. Guess it just depends on the model you own and who put it together going down the assembly line. I would be game to own Alliance 292RL or RK and also another GD. It would probably be the 270BN if it was a GD. Staying away from the Schwintek !!
I’ve heard nothing but good things about outdoorsRV, our friends, Kris and Erin from Irene Iron Travels had one for a while and loved it. My understanding is, they just don’t produce a whole lot of them comparatively to the Grand Design, and Alliances of the world.
6 months vrs 18 months? Hmm …… simple math may give an accurate view of the fairness of this comparison. And, cable style slide mechanism? Yikes! Please report back after 12 more months, which will create a fair comparison, on how those cables are holding up. TY
when alliance has reached the same amount of years in business that grand design is right now, you’ll probably see a shift in service. Then possibly it will be between Brinkley and Alliance. 🤷♀️
Grand Design has a huge safety difference. In a towable RV this size all the items you mention for the for the Valor do not match the importance of anti lock brakes. The GD with anti lock brakes can save your life so all the other stuff is just fluff.
the ABS System from Lippert is an add on option that you can also add on to an Allaince. Yes some of it is fluff, but I also feel the MORryde IS system with the Disk Breaks Upgrade is a safety with durability upgrade that I will always have on each towable RV we own going forward. As far as the "fluff" we are full time and those things make living in an RV much more enjoyable.
So there are multiple types of cable systems, the one alliance uses has been amazing! We had three Schwinn tech slide replacements on our Grand Design, I'll take a cable slides system any day, havent had 1 issue with it,
Neither of our RV';s had a frame flex issue during our ownership of them. Our GD had its own issues but at the end of the day we where disappointed in GD Customer Service Team.
I and 🐕 spent15 much appreciated min. talking with Laura at the show. Very sweet and VERY smart lady. I perused the Alliance Valor toy haulers and a few of of the Grand D. 5th wheels. While most of the layout designs are dreamy, its the execution that leaves me completely disappointed. IMHO the interior(s) construction is just plain cheap and substandard. None if this is made to last decades. I'm probably going to go custom. I really wish everyone luck with their RVs...
Thank yo for the kind words about Lauren, we try very hard to make time for anyone who takes time out of there day to watch our videos, or come see us at any event! Cheers!
Well as ambassadors for Alliance they will respond asap. They started off well with me and lately seemed to not respond at all. I don’t know why ! I think it is a better product than GD. Winnabego now owns them and their products have gone downhill. Whatever they can get away with , and saves them money they will do. They had admitted that when a customer asked about pecks connectors. As long as they are getting by the warranty period they are not concerned. Hopefully these companies realize that they can still make money on parts and advice especially when sales slow up!
So at the time of recording we weren't Alliance Ambassadors and went thru the same process that they ask everyone to go thru. In fact we also used my personal email so it wasn't as clear who we were. Between own experience with them, and other people we have chatted with we have found that our experience is pretty much the norm.
I think you guys are negating the fact that you have a channel and they know you are going to make these videos. I tried and tried to buy an Alliance but all of the ones we looked at had lights hanging down, trim missing and falling off, big holes around the pipes, dented skylights, just issue after issue. We were told buy it and then we will fix it. You guys got one direct from the manufacture and videoed the whole process so of course yours was in absolute pristine condition. For the laymen buyer the experience is not anywhere close to the same. No way would I buy an Alliance and have to rely on the Alliance dealers here in North Texas. They are way worse, and I mean way worse than the other guys you are talking about with Grand Designs.
@@Millers_in_Motion The dealer refusing to fix the issues is one problem. The problems being missed from the manufacturer during inspection and sending it to the dealer like that is another. My point was that they made absolutely sure you had no issues or at least minimal issues when it came off the line and delivered it to you guys. That is not the case for the ones going to the dealership. Thats not a bad thing, it's an advantage of doing what you do, and you should use it. And in my opinion, you should fault the manufacturer for the dealer. They choose who is going to sell their products.
@@Millers_in_Motionno, the unit left the manufacturer defective. Those issues couldn’t happened during transport & if they did, why? If they happened at the dealership, why did these things break? If that what happens during transport or while sitting & having people go through it to view, it is indicative of what will happen out on the road. Even if it is only used a couple of weeks a year.
If you have been an rv traveler for a while you know how important customer service is. I have not heard as of my thread of any front structural issues on a Valor. Has Alliance engineered out that common failure .....dont know. Do I think that Alliance is built better than anyone else....I do not. When I look at the Avenue I see nothing that impresses me which concerns me. The Paradigm is a nice looking 5th wheel, however I would never order one unless I see how they build them. If you are wondering if I would order another Grand Design 5th wheel (I have had two)....the answer is no. I cannot support hit or miss customer service or zero statements on why the failure of certain models.
All I know is Alliance has been VERY transparent with us, and anyone we have talked to. You can tour there factory and they will let you ask as many questions and show you what every you want!!
Your comment on buying in Texas requires warranty service at the same dealership due to a franchise tax law isnt accurate. I bought a new Jayco RV in Ft Worth from Vogt and had authorized warranty service done in Austin by Crestview; two different dealerships, no problem. Not sure you were given accurate info, or if Alliance is choosing to do business in a way that’s not mandated by Texas franchise law, but something isnt right in those statements based on our actual experience.
@@Millers_in_Motion Well, just to be clear then, you can indeed get your new RV warranty service performed at an alternative dealership and it’s not prohibited by Texas franchise law. It’s only fair and accurate to inform your viewers that your constraining situation isn’t as much a legal matter as it is a manufacturer/dealership choice.
Good video just saying all manufacturers having quality problems grand design has frame problems and standing behind there product but it's frame issue but I think all manufacturers Thor winnebago forest river and dealers are not good high prices I plan to a new fifth wheel by new horizon they build there own frame not mass production only about 20 a year you can customize it but they cost more there no dealers buy direct you can still have problems with any rv they have service centers across the country you can still go back to factory 🤔😀
At the end of the day you have to pick a manufacture you fee is going to take care of you if something goes wrong. For us that is Alliance, the developed a new fram from Lippert for there RV's that seems to be holding up better than most. Plus they have proven to use that they will ":Do What's Right" time and time again.
We did the check n our Solitude and didn’t have any, and now that we’ve owned our valor for almost a year and a half. We’ve never had any frame issues with our alliance.
The RV industry needs more owners to be like the Alliance owners.
Thank you for your help at the Florida RV show, we are almost to the end now and purchasing our new Alliance.
We love our fellow Allies!!
Love that they take care of everyone the same! We get the “do we get treated the same” question a lot…
Thanks for watching , we actually have that video idea (5th wheel vs Toy Hauler 5th Wheel) in the "brainstorm" category!! Thanks for watching!
We have had Coachman, Heartland, and Alliance. We loved each one. We love our 295MK. It has had issues and we have been working to get them resolved since our purchase in March 2023. Hi Guys
Thanks for being so honest and candid with regards to your comparisons.
Glad they where able to help you out!!!
Awesome video. I was pretty impressed with the quality of the Alliance units I’ve looked at.
Good to hear!
I have an Alliance 29RL. It is fantastic. What's broken is warranty service. My trailer has been at the dealer for over 6 weeks for warranty work. Nothing huge but the Alliance warranty process takes FOREVER! So much for after the sale customer support.
I will say this is more than likely on the dealer as well
Thank you both for your honest review. We're still researching different models, and to be honest, your personal experience with Alliance truly impressed us.
God bless...Safe travels😊
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you! We are in the process of deciding between Alliance and Grand Design. But, we're leaning towards Alliance after a lot of comparison research.
So this is video is now almost 10 months old and we are still beyond happy with our purchase and the how much Alliance stand behind there product.
Was able to meet Coley Brady in an Avenue in Tampa. What a great guy to talk with. Seems like a down to earth man. Really liked that Avenue too!
We appreciate your honesty & opinion
I would say GD is slipping a bit in our rating but we're just 1 little Canadian buyer, but we have been researching since before Covid.
We seen you at today is somedays donation in Tampa and wanted to pick your brain but you were pretty busy.
Look forward to more evaluations on Valour & Alliance
Cheers😊😊
Dang, well shoot us an email at info@millersinmotion.com and we chat hopefully chat and answer any questions yall might have!
My wife and I will hopefully be going full-time traveling this next summer. We'd really like to hear more about your plans for your community. Love your videos every week. Thankyou for what you do.
Thanks for watching! We are trying to just bring like minded people together! You can learn more at www.millersinmotion.com/family
We are originally from Maine. We just got married in September. My wife is a travel nurse. We also are doing the long process of research to live the RV life full time. I own a Harley Davidson and we share a Can-Am outlander. So we will be needing a toy hauler.
I was torn between the Valor and Momentum. Both great options. Eager to build out the Valor and enjoy the road!
Good choice!
Yes, don't understand why the drawer edges are so rough.
Hello Millers we are less than a year into the RV life , with that said we are on our second Grand Design .
Like most our first buy just wasn’t the right fit for what we are hoping to do in 2024 as far as traveling
Thanksgiving we bought a 2024 5th wheel , when we looked at GD and Alliance , we found that Alliance didn’t make the floor plan in the size and weight class we wanted to be in. Also note the dealer we worked with was trying to advise us That at this time the early 24 Alliances had some quality control issues they where working through.
As a 48yr mechanic i love the wiring and plumbing in Alliances along with all Manuel switches , Management being an Interior Designer chose the GD
Ask me @ the end of 2024 and we will see if we made the right chose.
thanks for the videos we look forward to meeting you all on the road.
It was a sad day. we loved our time in the RV when it was not 6 months at a time at the dealership."😢😢😢😢
Sometimes, it is the dealer , I have never spoken to Heartland.
I am taking delivery from same dealer of the 44v14 Valor next Tuesday, and so far I have seen soooo many videos about the Valor. The build is by far better than my Cyclone "covid build".
I added 2 solar panels and 4 batteries to the Valor and insisted of the main seeting area, we switch out the sofa bed and stock recliners
For something with less effort to close the slides.
900th like for you. Just completed an Alliance purchase. Pick up the unit in 4 days.
Congrats!! Sorry we are just now seeing this but hopefully your liking your new RV!
Hahaha, I’m picturing Pete knocking on a wall as he says “are you listening”. Thanks y’all!!
Pretty much! -Pete
Thanks for the tip on purchasing an RV in Texas. Once we fully retire we plan to winter in Texas. Will purchase in another state. Really appreciate you bring that to our attention!!!
Glad it was helpful! Not alot of people know that and Grade Design really used that to get around working with us on our repairs on the old RV.
Welcome to the Allaince Family!
We bought a Paradigm 310 in December. Ordered it with independent suspension, your video on IS solidified the decision. We are on our first real trip. A few minor issues which is annoying, but like the space inside.
Heck yea!!
SO helpful! Thank you guys 🙂
Glad it was helpful!
Good stuff!!
Maybe your right...
We loved our cable slides on our Heartland.
If it's a Bal "Accu-Slide" junk... Bal "Exact-Slide" good
Good to know! Thanks!
@@Kevin-midmichigan Curious ...whats the difference? where do you find what you have?? Thank you
I’ve heard so many complaints about Grand Design and their lack of customer support that I’ll never own one.
I prefer rack and pinion slides wherever possible. I realize those can’t be used for bed slides or closet slides in a fifth wheel.
We currently have a GD but are looking to buy our next rig in the next couple of years. As are tossed up between the Paradigm, the Solitude and the Brinkley. We have not had any service issues with GD in the last 4 years. Not sure what we will do🤷♀️
Unfortunately It sounds like it will be a decision at the time your ready to buy!
Everything I hear about Alliance and Brinkley sounds like Grand Design of 5 years ago.
I agree, Only difference is Alliance has been around for about 5 years now and Brinkley is brand new!
Alliance also has Avenue Fifthwheels.
GD is really taking a beating lately, however, it is deserved. They are really bringing their perils upon themselves.
Yea, it's kinda hard to watch. we have so many trends that are in a GD's
We Absolutely love our 2021 Alliance Valor 40v13.
Are you guys possibly going to be Pac Northwest Rally in Canyonville Oregon this year?
unfortuanlty no, we wont be up in that area and have commitments. We would love to make it up there at some point though!
We currently own a Momentum G Class. We have had no issues with anything really. But we are looking into an Alliance in fact the same model that you have is one that we are considering. Thank you for the comparison it was very helpful.
Stick with Grand Design !
Why are you getting rid of the GD?
Thanks for watching!
To each there own
@@Millers_in_Motion
Is it because of avoiding potential future problems that others are having? Just curious.
Reason I ask. That's exactly why we won't buy a Momentum because of all the problems others are having and sharing on Facebook and RUclips. It's tough too because their floor plan and nice interior features my wife really likes. And we both like how they separated the garage from the rest of the living area.
But we don't want to get into a situation to have to fix something that we can't afford.
Very insightful and honest. Wishing there was a channel with Super C. Thank you
I mean maybe 1 day we will make the switch to drivable RV's!!! Thanks for watching!
I couldn't now find an alliance with the floorplan I like so im going to go with a GD, but im going to be mostly stationary for now.
❤️
Great video, and I concur. Alliance has been great to work with.
So happy they make it easy to get warranty work done.
@@Millers_in_Motion south Texas looking at Ron Hoover dealership.
@jaq9811 Chat with RV Egan, he is at Ron Hoover and he is about as good as it gets!
Great video. My son recently decided to buy a toy hauler. I suggested that he look at both Alliance and Grand Design...He ordered a Brinkley, go figure. I prefer a motorhome, currently iwn a Winnebago, but plan to go with Tiffin next.
Everyone has their own preferences! We are very interested in a Class A Diesel pusher for or next rig (way down the road!)
You mentioned you had a slide preference - schwintec or cable. The answer was not in your video. What was your preference?
So we had 3 Schwintck silde fallers in our old coach and the than routine maintenance on the cable slide on the Valort we havent had to touch the cable slides. We do want some more time before we definitively same which we prefer, but the full breakdown will be coming soon!
Awesome video as we are in the process of moving from a Reflection to Valor. You mentioned when buying from a dealership in Texas you have to go back to that dealer for work. We live out of state and are working with a Texas dealer for our purchase. Do you have any advice on how warranty will work in that situation?
Congrats!! What floorplan? As far as the taking it back to the dealer question, because you’re out of state, you’re good to take it wherever!
@Millers_in_Motion 40v13 for many reasons.
1) The garage was the size we needed
2) hitch weight for a SRW 3500
3) we liked the interior entertainment space the best (distance between couch and TV)
Enjoyed the comparisons! 🖖🏻😘👍🏻🙏🏻
Awesome! Thank you!
Huh? What platform? They have 6k followers lol
We’ve contacted Alliance with questions and had nothing short of a great experience and quick reply! We met with several Alliance employees at the Tampa RV Show and they were all so friendly and welcoming and open to feedback!
Did you consider Brinkley? why / why not?
That was such a big part of our decision was Alliance moving away from Schwintek!!
Great video job guys
Thank you!
Nobody talks about outdoorsRV and I’m thinking that’s a good thing 😆😉😉
I’ve heard nothing but good things about outdoorsRV, our friends, Kris and Erin from Irene Iron Travels had one for a while and loved it. My understanding is, they just don’t produce a whole lot of them comparatively to the Grand Design, and Alliances of the world.
Isn’t alliance owned by the previous owners of grand design?
Nope, Bill Martin was with Grand Design back in the day, but has been with Alliance since they opened in 2019!
With all my comments said I would still strongly look at the alliance products
We have been beyond impressed with our Valor!
6 months vrs 18 months? Hmm …… simple math may give an accurate view of the fairness of this comparison. And, cable style slide mechanism? Yikes! Please report back after 12 more months, which will create a fair comparison, on how those cables are holding up. TY
We will always give updates to our ownership experience through the years!
Nice Presentation
Thanks a lot
All it is personal preference!
yes it is!
when alliance has reached the same amount of years in business that grand design is right now, you’ll probably see a shift in service. Then possibly it will be between Brinkley and Alliance. 🤷♀️
Maybe, but I know after chatting with the team at Alliance they are doing what they can to keep the Customer Service the same as they grow!
I have heard so many terrible things about the cable system on the slides. I wish they would change that
So there are multiple types of cable systems, the one alliance uses has been amazing! We had three Schwinn tech slide replacements on our Grand Design, I'll take a cable slides system any day, havent had 1 issue with it,
Does your frame flex
Neither of our RV';s had a frame flex issue during our ownership of them. Our GD had its own issues but at the end of the day we where disappointed in GD Customer Service Team.
No cable driven slides for me

Nothing like chasing an electrical problem
Right!!
I get that, but you faulting manufacture for a dealerships issues. You can always but an Alliance else wear.
We love our Alliance 42v13! Like the 44v13 also but don’t want to give up the side patio. Love your content and hope to see you at the Ally Rally!
We did love that Side Patio, now only to convince the team up at Allaince to make a hybrid between the 44v13 and the 42v13!!
That has nothing to do with Alliance that’s only at the dealer level, and your original dealership had to authorize it, ours wouldn’t.
Grand Design has frame problems.
YEs they do, for some reason more than any other manufacture right now...
👍🏽
No doubt The Grand Design is a higher quality RV
Maybe on the surface, but I would put our RV up against any similar builds in the industry right now.
They are both the same typical production brand RV junk
So what brand do you think is better 🤔
I think thats a pretty broad statement to say there both junk...
We prefer Alliance but now being Brand Ambassadors for them we are obesely biased. At the time we recorded this video we where not abasadoors.
How can you compare a grand design to an alliance?????? Anyone who knows TV's knows grant design are built like garbage
What do TVs have to do with it?
Again, I don;t think GD are built like garbage, but they have taken a step back
Any frame flex?
We did the check n our Solitude and didn’t have any, and now that we’ve owned our valor for almost a year and a half. We’ve never had any frame issues with our alliance.
