I’ve never been to Pastrami Queen and I don’t think it exists where I live. But Jersey Mike’s, Which Wich and Jimmy John’s are my Top 3 for best quality deli meat distributed to sandwich shops
What an excellent video! I loved the analysis of the sandwich chains and the evaluation of the quality of deli meats. The information was super useful and the comparisons well detailed. Congratulations on bringing these high-quality options to light and helping you make informed decisions. Keep up the good work! 😍😍
Thank you for NOT including Subway in this list. Subway is an insult to proper delis everywhere. But how in the world did Panera make this list ? Inquiring minds want to know. 🤔
@12:59...Herschel's East Side Deli in the Reading Terminal Market, Philadelphia. Best hot pastrami sandwich, equal to Pastrami Queen which I frequent when on the UES.
For well-known chains, I'd definitely go with Firehouse over Jersey Mikes. I've given Jersey Mikes about 6 tries and find them lacking flavor. Ikes out of San Francisco is far better than the ones on the list that I've tried, and down in San Diego, there's a local, family-owned chain called Grab and Go Subs that's really good.
If our local Panera could: 1) Be consistent in what it offers, 2) Be consistent in quality, 3) Hire people who actually like working there and like interacting with customers (perhaps they need to pay better and to treat their staff better), 4) Pack pick up and delivery orders properly (for example, don't just throw the "side" 4 inch piece of baguette into the bag without wrapping it), and 5) make it easy for people to pick up their orders (not having to look in several places and deal with nasty staff members), perhaps it would be worthy of mention.
Only two of these chains are close to where I live, Jersey Mike's, which I have never tried, and Panera , which I will never go to again. I went there eight years ago for the first time and, since the sandwiches were very expensive, but seemed as if they were large, I asked if I could order half a sandwich, thinking I would be charged half the price. I was charged full price and the half sandwich I got was so small it was gone in four bites. It was good but not worth what I paid and I will never go there again. The Panera I went to is in a large shopping center that I go to often and it surprises me that they are still in business with the high prices they have, but there are always people going inside or sitting at the tables outside eating, so I guess people don't mind getting ripped off.
OMG those sandwiches all look so delicious, we dont have any of those in Australia. Or if we do then it would only be for the rich. A sandwich with even a quarter of that amount of meat would cost at least $10 and be mostly padded out with lettuce and salad
Wegmans is a grocery chain with better subs to order than most sub shops, and less expensive with top quality meats and cheeses and great in house made breads.
My wife and I just got over 2 week’s of food poisoning and several visits to the ER after picking up 2 sandwiches from Jersey Mike’s on Winchester in Memphis. We are still having digestive problems after 3 weeks.
I am a blind person, and I have discovered when eating at Which Wich, that it is completely inaccessible. The pieces of paper that you were supposed to circle the ingredients that you want on, have the ingredients listed in very small print. I can see some print, but not always, therefore, I cannot order my food independently there. Considering the Americans with disabilities act is now 34 years old, this is ridiculous.
In this video he talks about deli cold cuts and in the NYC area Boars head brand dominates the market, and I used to work in a deli in QUEENS and now that I am semi-retired,I find that why should I spend 12.00/per pond when I can spend 5.00 per pound, makes no sense and if you go to the supermarket it's a lot cheaper and you can make it the way you want to eat it versus someone else and I am in the industry, where some restaurants will try and charge you 9.00 for a side order of FRENCH FRIES,no way in hell, and if you go to the supermarket and buy potatoes for that amount of money you can get 10 pounds of potatoes, just clean them up,cut into wedges, into seasoned flour and fry till golden brown toss with dried thyme, baril, oregano and chopped parsley, and grated parmesan cheese and make Russian dressing with mayonnaise, ketchup and pickle relish and serve, you just saved 10 bucks buddy,do the MATH
I find that Jersey Mikes tends to skimp on both the meat and the cheese on their subs. A few thin slices? Sorry, but that's not what I call a sub. I prefer my subs overstuffed. I have to get my Jersey Mikes subs with the "double meat" option, so they are at least acceptable. There's got to be at LEAST an inch of meat and cheese to be a proper overstuffed sub, and more than an inch if you're talking about overstuffed grilled steak subs. Shovel that grilled steak in, until I can barely see the sub roll.
I understand that everyone is very exited about "all VEGETARIAN diets" for the animals used to produce the meat for sandwiches. but I would like to point out that pigs, as well as chickens, ARE NOT HERBIVORES, they are OMNIVORES. They will both eat anything that you put in their feed. Not providing animal protien is actually bad for these animals (yes, I know that they have been genetically modified to handle the 'no-meat' diets, but that leads to the "Non-GMO" issues that so many people get hung up about).
Also in this video again they are talking about sandwiches using cold cuts, try going to subways as they are so cheap on the cold cuts its a joke, and they charge big bucks,no way
Ummm...beef raised on an all vegetarian diet? What the hell else would beef be raised on? It's remarks like those that are an insult t your viewers intelligence
Whose sandwiches do you like the most?
@@MashedFood Which Wich, though most of the locations near me went bankrupt 😭

I love capriotti’s!!
Love Jersey Mike’s. Have it Mike’s Way.
Capriotti's is amazing! I really missed them when I moved away from Delaware.

The Hungry Hobo in The Quad Citys♥️♥️
Firehouse subs underrated should be on this list. Club on a Sub slaps hard. Jersey Mike's Italian amazing
Why isn’t firehouse subs on here?

Only 2 of these chains are in San Amgelo, Jimmy John's and Which Wich. Panera Bread and Chick-Fil-A have gone back to using antibiotics in their meat!

It's Shlotzky's for me ...
Does anyone know which type of wood pulp Jimmy John’s uses to make its bread?

I guess she only eats in LA, or NY
I cannot believe Firehouse is not on here, and most of the ones on the list are places 90% of people don't even know of or live near.

Panera is grossly overpriced with a sanctimonious attitude!😡

cappriotti’s is just plain garbage. Took one bite of the soggy mess and threw the rest out.
