  • We have had the Saturn SD380 for two years now. We love it. It’s the perfect little boat to get you and some friends out for the day without the worry of hundreds of dollars in fuel. The amount of fun you can have is only limited to your skill set and bravery. It would work well as a tender for a larger boat or yacht, and is a great solution for folks looking to enjoy their local lake, river, or ocean. Another shout out to Eric sucre, holding it down in Florida. Your videos are awesome and inspired me to make one too!

      I still think it’s the best bang for your buck. We’ve had it for three years and it’s showing no signs of cracking or wearing even after folding each time after use. However, we are OCD on the maintenance of the PVC itself. We have inflatable boat care products from West Marine, and those seem to keep it pretty fresh.

    Would you recommend to go with 12 or 13 ft from Saturn Boats? Kind of difficult to choose, once in a while I might need to use extra space when crabbing, but for the most part 12 would be enough for me, since I go solo mostly, at times there might be 2 people, I use it mostly for fishing, but gear can take space at times.

    • @Gallivanting55
      @Gallivanting55  Месяц назад

      Both great choices. If you’re solo more, 12’ will be perfect. We got the 13 because we often have more than two people with us and wanted to be able to go offshore semi-comfortably (for a dinghy) lol

      She’s amazing. She loves the speed. We’ve both been tossed from a SeaDoo at 50+ so the 20hp dinghy is a breath of fresh air for her. Hahaha see, the trick is to scare the crap out of them first so the rest feels easy. 😂

We will have a friend follow not too far behind. lol we’ve already done a longer trips along the coast, Long Beach to Dana Point for example, but nothing more than 3 miles out. • @Gallivanting55
      @Gallivanting55  Месяц назад +1

      The motor is 98lbs. It can be done alone as long as the trunk you’re using doesn’t require you to ‘lift’ the motor up and over anything. It’s best if you can slide it to the edge and essentially guide it to the transom. My wife is there for only if/when I drop it on my foot. Lift with your legs not your lower back and you should be fine.

    I can’t make up my mind between the Bris 15 ft with welded seams or the Saturn sd470 15 ft witch one do you think need one that is strong will last amd can handle the ocean can you let me know thanks as you have a Saturn boat red is cool to

    • @Gallivanting55
      @Gallivanting55  3 месяца назад

      So far, the seams on the Saturn are holding up wonderfully. I’m not sure what technology Bris uses for their welding process, but I know Saturn boats use technology on par with market competitors. Wife and I have been out in 3 to 4 foot seas with two passengers. If anything, the Saturn handled the swells better with added weight. Keep the weight inside the boat evenly distributed and avoid wearing shoes and or bringing sharp metallic objects on board without proper storage. We are going on four years of ownership, and as long as you wipe it down and get the salt off after every adventure, and store it nicely in a cool, dry place out of the sun, you will likely upgrade long before the seams have issues.

    • @Gallivanting55
      @Gallivanting55  3 месяца назад +1

      Transom is good. No signs of delamination or any issues after mounting the wheel brackets. There is a hard plastic pad protecting the part of the transom where you melt the motor. That plastic does get beat up overtime simply from mounting and un, mounting, not from where and tear while on the water. That part is replaceable, but it will be a pain in the rear end to takeoff.
