man, i started playing wow in 2019 because of zack transmog competitions, that time i was doing my master's degree and living far away from family and by myself for the first time, and his wow lives + playing wow were my favourite things to do in my free time. Seeing him playing wow again brings me a huge feeling of nostalgia

Very true. That's a big part of missing retail WoW content from him.
Those glorious streams of progress and completion, opening boxes, achievements....it's what made him big. There's still a huge audience for retail-WoW for sure.
And it doesn't mean he would ditch other games....it would just add content to a group of viewer that have watched him since Legion.

It's just that, the people that were with him from the start and are part of the retail-WoW community are missing WoW gameplay since he completely ditched playing retail-WoW. It's just mostly react content and a variety of other games. Which is completely fine, anyone can decide what to watch or not to watch.
But when you entirely stop playing the game that hundreds of thousands of people watched you play for years, there's a disconnect.
Judging by the comments, apparently you cannot mention this. Regardless, I'll continue to express supporting a return to retail WoW.

I'm playing wow classic for my first experience in the game. I'm impressed by the quality, the depth and the immersion. It's gameplay perfection. I'm also shocked by how slow, difficult and inconvenient is pretty much everything. And I love it just like that. There is commitment in every decision you take and that hooks you. I don't get that feeling from hardly any game nowadays.

everything in that game is so time consuming, and ive never played wow in my life but i agree with asmon's sentiment that you have to play wow (or terraria) half afk to enjoy it

wow's glory days are long past and the entire mmo genre is in decay. plus the leveling experience without heirlooms (look it up if you dont know what those are) is terrible on purpose to encourage new players to pay for level boosts. youre better off playing literally anything else

Doesn't make sense to equip your main gear while standing around to let comp know what you have. Payo probably just doesn't want to show before tournament. Not sure if it's a rule to wear intended gear beforehand

Don't know if you saw the video, but basically he realized that shadow resist was pretty much useless, and ended up not even using it.

I feel like if a streamer wins it will keep regular folks from participating in the next one or future events. I don’t have anything against streamers but they have a huge advantage. Just a thought.
Its going to be, they have no other obligations than to game.
they also have a ton of people giving them gold and items. People make characters on the servers just to farm gold for them 🤷♂️
You underestimate how much people like attention
Nah it's gonna be the next asmongold who lives in his mom's basement. Honestly I feel it's possible a streamer may not win.
You also underestimate degenerates, unemployed, people with disabilities who play WoW all day, and people who live in squalor just to play 24/7. If you think it's only steamers who game all day then you probably need a reality check.
It is a tournament created by streamers to make content for streamers. But you still get to participate and at least have a shot at a prize or a little fame with any upset win. Maybe just enjoy a little extra content while playing with grace.

Literally impossible since all the streamers got hard carried to 60 by lvl 60’s and given gear in runs. The guy who plays 14 hrs a day and gets hard carried will likely always beat the random

I disagree with the take that the tournament is ONLY popular because streamers are participating and that NO ONE would be watching if it was all randos. Like, look at Mr Beast. A pretty good example of a guy who does tournaments with both content creators and randos, and it's not like the videos featuring randos don't get any views. So it probably wouldn't get quite as many views, but NO ONE is cap big time

Weird. I also logged in this weekend for the first time in a long time. The new expansion is pretty fun actually so far. The last one was terrible. I'll probably give the hardcore a shot, but I'm not big on the idea of grinding for 100hrs to die to a bug or something.
People need to differentiate more between entertaining and fun.

Shadowlands was fun too for the first time.. DF is as bad or even worse than SL

Classic WAS peak WOW other than BC added Arenas and Cataclysm added Rated BGs oh and MOP had Mythic Dungeons that meant something beyond gear. In fact you got no gear from Mythic dungeons and your gear was ilvl capped.

They needed to choose one faction only, in order to do the qualification duels without making the character dying
They chose horde on skull rock because most of the streamers were already playing alliance on defies pillager so they thought they would have a more lvl playing field where everyone had to start from scratch

Man, I haven't played WoW in over 2 years. This game used to be my everything and now I have zero desire to play it. Nowadays, I mostly just play automation games and colony sims. City Skylines 2 is freaking amazing in case anyone's wondering.

classic wow for me is all about the PVP, its actually quite good. It's not balanced but at the same time it kinda is, certain classes all can do broken shit, so it kinda evens itself out. Rogues were dumb over tuned tho especially with prep giving 2 blinds. But rogues could die easy to geared wars/hunters sitting in flairs or the ability to get a decent kite-rotation off/feral druids/shadow priests/mages or even pallies

youre talking about the legendary video series of "world of roguecraft" which is a story in 3 parts going trough about how people used to think about rogues in vanilla wow. it gets more and more absurd and ends with the rogue 1v1ing multiple people with only lvl 1 daggers,no armor,absolute bare minium,no consumables except bandages, to show the point,that rogues are absolutely broken in vanilla.

Hardcore deaths should spawn the character on regular realms instead of deleting them.
you have that option when you die. You get a free character transfer to a regular classic server or you can delete the character.
