Bro just wanted to say. Thank you so much for including sound clips to your videos. The second you mentioned that volvo v8 i clicked a new tab and was about to type out sound clips but then you included one. Your videos have come such a long way since your earlier ones, so much detail and effort. I never comment on videos but this one i just felt i had to. Well done mate, and thank you as well.
The rx8 is amazing! Its the 4 seater safer daily i always wished my mx5 was! The biggest drawback for me is fuel consumption, especially with the current fuel prices. I bought mine for 500 with worn out brakes and a knackered clutch but after fixing those it's been the most reliable car I've ever owned. I think the reliability horror stories really come from the kind of people that don't perform preventative maintenance like checking/changing your oil and fluids regularly. If you do that then you'll probably have less problems than something like a 30 year old mx5, trust me i have both!
you are 120% correct. Maintenance is key to keep the engine happy. Fuel dilution with ethanol blended fuels is the main culprit for premature engine failures, you really cant change the oil any less often then 3k miles. I have an 2005 GT that i bought back in 2011, and its been an excellent car, mine is tuned by the Mazda Maniac with a full BHR long tube header with mid pipe, and HKS cat back, adds an extra 20ish HP all together. The sound it makes is orgasmic lol. Also put a nice set of double digressive coil overs on, friends that ride with me can't believe how good the ride is despite it being very stiff and being able to pull 1.3g in the corners. What I don't get is why the car get so much hate... I have gone to car shows and literally have literally had people insult the car to my face...
Honda upgraded the CR-Z to 137bhp in 2013; GT models have a slightly slower 0-60 time, presumably due to the added weight of the sunroof. The facelift -T (nav) models are extremely rare.
@@anthonymeek4248 Absolutely brilliant cars, super fun and fast! But I unfortunately have to say that the THP200 engine is VERY temperamental. My friend has a 2013 GTi and it's needed thousands worth of repairs. The thermostat and housing, water pump, high pressure fuel pump, timing tensioner and heater matrix all needed replaced within the first couple of years and it has a nasty tendency to munch through front tyres like any turbo FWD hatch. If you save up a couple thousand more you can get a facelift GTi with the THP208 engine instead which fixed a lot of those issues while also providing a small bump in power and torque.
I think the 3.0 Lexus IS300 is definitely cheap and underrated. May not have the 2JZ-GTE but still quite a quick car with a lot of aftermarket. Great content like always, keep up the good work 👍
Since you mentioned the Volvo S80 I remembered my old Ford Mondeo 2.5T Titanium X. It has the same engine as the MK2 Focus ST225, just slightly detuned on power, so a bit of a sleeper too 😊
awesome video....I have seen your under £2000 car video first but totally agree on many you say here aswell......I would love an rx8 but the hot and cold start issues with the rotory engine have put me off.....The brabus smart roadster is an interesting one as I have a standard smart roadster and my conclusion is I'd never get a brabus as you can the brabus map for peanuts and the brabus alloys look fantastic but are dreadful....there are some lovely cosmetic brabus additions but aren't worthy of the inflated price tag
Hi, I own a 1999 subaru legacy B4. Standard they come with 280bhp, AWD and you can pick them up for as little as 4K. In my opinion they are proper sleeper cars. BTW great channel.
Regarding Suzuki swift sport soon as you mentioned it JB straight away gearbox came to mind I had 1 and gearbox went ,I'm 52 now was in my late 40s whey I had it so don't drive fast ,always fancied ralliart good shout.
@@CarsWithJB interestingly it's only actually the 1.3L swift that's known for its Gearboxes. The ZC31s is only really known for real callipers and general suspension wearing. Had mine almost 2 years and love it, mods are expensive and power is hard to get without alot of 💸 but handling is very good. Anyone picking one up should start with the handling mods and make sure to rev it out to enjoy it 🤣
I got my Lupo GTi just about a year ago for just over 3K Pounds and after the work ive done on her and the appreciation of this fuure classic shes worth around 6-6.5K now. Brilliant lil car
I think any Saab is under rated, powerful turbo engines, comfort, great styling, etc. I have had a crazy 900 turbo, which was absolutely nuts!!! A 9000, which was a bit quirky. But my favourite was the 9-3 Aero Convertible which I owned for over 7 years and with the roof down windows up and the mesh bit up, you can hold a conversation easily at over 120mph. Not had a 9-5 so I cant comment on that.
Could you please do a 1 vs 2 car garage? I.e. Budget £20k. 1 Car that does everything Vs 2 Car Garage split (£15k Daily + £5k weekender, £10k Daily + £10k Weekender, £5k Daily + 15k Weekender). Along these lines.
I would not say you can rx 8 R3 for 3k , you'll be struggling finding even high mileage with low compression at 5k. They have gone up in price somehow over last three years.
Asking twice for comments with our underrated cars and then putting the GS450h at the end, I'm not falling for that one ☺ Sneaky L10/Mk4 shot in there too (in the spec mine was in!). Possibly a controversial choice here but I reckon the FN2 Type R is definitely underrated. Worst Type R...to drive, probably, but that's not a bad list to be bottom of. For me it's the best looking type R though, both inside and out. Definitely cheap on the inside, just looks nice. Like a C Class, without the PS1 screen those have.
I wonder why the Skoda Fabia VRS 1.4 twincharged version (2013 plus with engine codenamed CTHE) is always overlooked even in the list of overlooked cars :P.. I believe that's a great car in this budget.
I hope you found out who was messing with your polo . I am trying to find a home for my black e46 325i auto sport perfect condition no rust all restored. And has m pack on .stage one remap 206 bhp . Full black leather and black arcentara roof liner bmw recall completed 👌. 112000 miles on . Service history. Not many left . How much do you think I can ask for this now . I paid 2500 pound just before lockdown .
Yo man, i have had an idea for quite some weeks now, but i forget to say it every time...🤦♂️but what i was thinking is that at the end of every video like this, you pick your personal favourite, the one you would buy yourself and why, this is something i do think is interesting so maybe?
RX8's need to be owned by people that don't mind throwing endless money at their car. I love my RX8. I have had many times when I've hated my RX8. I love my RX8...
They are not underrated… RX8 10l/100km and you need to rebuild the engine every 6 months… but it is a fun powerful and nice car if you got money to waste. Alfa once again high maintenance costs, unreliability and rust I could go on…

@@mikel9656 yeah it's sad but I'm happy about it! Hopefully they remain cheap and accessible unlike most other jdm legends
Did you watch the car throttle video? They can actually be driven reasonably efficiently!!

I think Peugeot 208 GTi is an underrated 200bhp under this price
Great shout!
Ooh yeah why didn't I think of that...was looking at them on Autotrader last week ☺
Hard to get one under 5k though
I’m looking for one at the moment. But yeah category cars only because of the market around that mark I think.

I think a Yaris T sport is highly underrated. Loads of fun to drive 109 bhp and is only 900 kgs

Can you include or do a review on the BMW 128TI please
The Mugen cr-z from Japan is my dream daily, 200bhp 40mpg 1100kg and 20 quid tax.
That would be a beaut!
Car at 10:13 grey behind rx3 on left?
Volvo C30 t5 r-design is very underrated
Love your insight mate, also love that Alfa and the rx8.
To add to your point about the EOS, the passat TFSI has the same engine with more practicality and just as fast.

Hi JB love the channel. A video suggestion on maybe second hand car inflation? Top 10 most/least inflated second hand cars would be awesome
Xc90 came with a v8 too didn’t it??
Vauxhall Vectra VXR and the Ford Mondeo ST220 are also very worthy of this list.
Defo Swift Sport! Good shout! Shame the 2nd gen is now out of the 5 price range
I got my Lupo GTi just about a year ago for just over 3K Pounds and after the work ive done on her and the appreciation of this fuure classic shes worth around 6-6.5K now. Brilliant lil car
Yaris TR is also a good contender as well or Mazda 3 Mazda speed
Good vid, nice prices.
Appreciated!
Always great content 👌🏻Have you ever done a young driver first cheap small engine insurance friendly ?
Love that S80 V8, the XC90 of the same age also has the same 4.4 V8 tho, although I prefer the coolness of the S80 🔥

The honda CRZ looked fantastic until I seen the back....reminds me of the renault wind
Absolutely love an Alfa Romeo Brera
Same here 🥵
Theres a video of a straight piped s80 v8 and it sounds unreal.
Haven’t seen it but that’s sick!
I have a Suzuki Swift Sport. they are so much fun as a first car.
That’s a very cool car to have as your first!
@@CarsWithJB Thank you :)
Great video .
Can you do a list of cars increasing in value
One of my dream cars rx8!
It’s very good looking for the price
If you want something that will go well and take stick one of the t5 line up from Volvo very tuneable engine

Thoughts on the mg zt and the jaguar X type AWD v6

How much would a saab 93 aero cost?
Mind doing an episode about off-road cars?
10:30 those are R3 models, the R3 models cost like 7k minimum
VW 2.0 tsi has major engine oil use problem , just requires a major engine rebuild past 60k !
Got a colt ralliart with a remap. 180hp. Great little rocket

I actually needed this video. Got a budget of 3.7k atm. Had my car for 4 and half years atm might upgrade soon
get a 330d, wont regret
@@edsfsrg I'll have a look
I see the ralliart gets another mention you can get over 200 bhp out of these very easily
I think the MB CLC 350 is an underrated car, 280 HP, 0-60 in 6 and cheap

Alfa Romeo Brera is beautiful
maann UK Car prices are quite a dream for anyone else in the EU
I think Hyundai coupe(Tiburon) is the most underrated car ever
Im very sure that you cannot get a rx8 r3 model for under 5k, they start at 7k
Volvo C30?
Renault Wind 1.6 VVT GT Line
The road tax on the rx8 is another major put of
Forgive me if i'm wrong but isn't the RX8 1.3l per rotor?
In static form yeah but when it's actually running it's more like a 2.6L
RX-8 is a great care, pity about the flimsy engine
I think vauxhall astra gtc
I own a colt ralliart, for the money I don't think you can get much better
ST220
Mazda rx8 needs engine rebuild every 30,000 miles ! If it doesn’t start when hot , the blades re fucked on the turbine !
Legit every single one of your videos has ads
LEXUS LS400 V8
They are not underrated…
RX8 10l/100km and you need to rebuild the engine every 6 months… but it is a fun powerful and nice car if you got money to waste.
Alfa once again high maintenance costs, unreliability and rust
I could go on…

Love the v8 Volvo but preferred it In
The xc90
I don’t think the rx8 is overlooked it’s turned down because of that wanky engine 😂😂
The Mazda rx8 needs maintenance after like 60k, that explains the price
Yeah that’s fair 🤪
