nicely done. But using rockwool to insulate a car is a no go. with large temperatures different then condensation will occur which will lie in the insulation and the car will rust away. use instead of an insulation type like armaflex (Maybe it is sold under a different name in your country). the best regards from the plumber who also drives the T4.
Hey! Thank you for the info! So far no rust problems due to the type of insulation used, our biggest problem is actually being close to the ocean but will have a look into that for sure! Always happy to improve. Enjoy your T4 ;) Love from Portugal
@@krazytube Hello Ana. I am very pleased to hear that the car is in a more stable climate than I had imagined. I do not know why but I had the idea that it was Scandinavia the car was. it was nice too receive a message about your car situation. I wish you a good summer here from Denmark - and keep up the good work. Simon
@@d.s.j6051 eheheh probably because of the Truma heating system. It is overkill for Portugal but we wanted to prepare her to explore colder climates as well :D Thank you and have a lovely summer too ;)
We have a UK registered Vivaro I converted and we now live in central Portugal, so need a Portuguese registered camper. Would love a LWB T4, did you have any problems changing use and registering the change? Any issues with the "inspection" (MOT).
LWB T4 in Portugal are very rare! We were lucky to find one and disn't look back. Registering it is just a bunch of burocracy and to make it easier get in touch with a vehicle engineer registered in IMT that takes care of all the paper work. You will need the car design/project with all the right measures, then you will probably be asked to go to an IMT check up if they want to confirm something they feel is wrong (you won't need the inspection B unless you decide to get new windows - where you change the car structure). After that you just need to pay taxes... In 'normal' times and hiring a decent engineer you can get it done in a month.
@@krazytube I thought so in the UK you dont need to do anything can even insure it as a motorhome. You can register it and it is easy just send photos. If they dont like something you can fix it and reapply its free. Or they will call it a van with windows. I did think of making the camper part removable but still need windows. Would like to keep the Vivaro and register it but am told it is difficult. How much tax did you pay? 0
@@allanb52 I see that in the UK is somewhat like Spain in this matter. There you do whatever you want to the van, go to the spanish IMT and it's done. Just have to pay for the new doc. The taxes you pay here will depend a lot on the van, year of production, taxes it paid when 1st registered which will depend on the vans' category (passenger, cargo, mixed) and so on... My situation was different as the van was German brought by an Austrian guy that had just moved to Portugal and registered it under the immigrant law which gave him benefits we couldn't have, so had to pay extra taxes.... all in all a huge mess but there is nothing that can't be solved! ;)
Hey! Thank you for your question. The LWB version is 40cm+/- longer than the normal version but believe me that it makes a huge diference both good and bad (more space but more difficult to drive in narrow streets) ;)
You all probably dont give a damn but does anybody know a tool to get back into an instagram account?? I somehow lost my login password. I love any assistance you can give me!
You had a lot of bodywork to do on yours, just like we have on our VW T3. Someday we´ll start the exterior repair but for now just want to enjoy Blueberry a bit on some roadtrips ;) Good luk with yours ;)
krazytube Thanks, I'm glad they helped you, I'll be making more videos as soon as something breaks or wears out! You have a really nice van and you did a great job on the conversion.
Christian Naydenov t really depends on what kind of deals you make ans what vans are for sale. You can buy a reasonable T4 for 3000€ up to +6000€ and converting can cost around 2500€ depending on what kind of materials, gadgets and appliances you choose and where you buy them

Nice work!

What a great build out! How much longer is the long wheel base compared to the regular T4?

could I ask where you bought the equipment sink stove etc.
