Thank you for an actual review by somebody who is not a firstlite employee. I haven’t been able to get the info you provided anywhere else. I have been curious as hell about the inside fleece lining and couldn’t find anything. Good info man!
Cool review!... love first lite gear.. I will note though that I have the sanctuary 1.0 bibs and the sanctuary 2.0 jacket. The 2.0 has a wind layer and I FOR SURE feel the wind in the legs... but not in the jacket. Just wish I'd have waited 1 year to get the bibs. Still love their gear though...
How’s it work out? I’m up here in upstate South Carolina and was thinking solitude bibs with this and maybe a vest if it gets real cold. Did you like it?
I have both and the sawtooth is a fine jacket but this hoodie is by far my favorite item that @firstlite has ever released. I wore it a ton during this past deer season and absolutely love it. Thanks for watching
Great review Dan! I was curious how you liked the phantom 3D clothing? There aren’t any reviews I’ve found on RUclips yet and was thinking about investing in the jacket/head piece for turkey/early bow season. Thanks for the great reviews!
The Phantom work but isn’t feature heavy. The coat has no real pockets or hood. The head piece works better with a hat but both are extremely Packable. For the price it’s a good addition for any ground hunting.
You are 100% right on that 1 buddy I'd give anything if first light would start taking measurements on short chubby models I always have to alternate my clothes from them especially their pants
Thanks for the review! Wondering how you thing the outer would wear in an environment with a lot of brambles and thorny vegetation? I am looking for this for bow season in Missouri…worried about snags.
Great detailed review. Thanks! Would you say this is warmer than the Kiln hoodie? Just trying to get a feel for how warm it’ll be for layering purposes.
I love the Kiln hoodie as well. The Origin is slightly heavier but not has thick as the Furnace or Klamath. Per comfort, this Origin hoodie is amazing and the most comfortable “hoodie” that I have worn. Extremely soft and fits me perfectly.
I own the wick hoodie and the storm light rain jacket. I wear a "90% jacket in sitka and am looking for a replacement in the first lite line... any insight would be great. I do run hot and live in western montana
It’s still one of my go to items. Absolutely love this hoodie and just wish they made it in black so I could use it in my ground blind and as a casual wear hoodie
It’s a old coat that I got from Bison Union a few years ago. Black Rifle made the same coat with their logo as well. Bison Union is a great company that I highly recommend. They are out of Wyoming and ran by a retired 18D Green Beret
It tough to give recommendations since people feel temps differently. I would say it’s comparable to a typical hoodie for warmth. This is just more feature rich compared to a typical hoodie.
Thank you for the review. Comparing to the Klamath, would it be worth upgrading to the Origin? Is it the same function as the Klamath, just with some upgrades? I usually wear the Klamath as a mid layer. Thoughts?
I have both and I think there is a slight difference. The Klamath for me fits a little tighter and performs great as a base layer. The Origin is more of a outer layer but could and I will probably at times use as a base. The Origin is also more feature rich compared to the Klamath. I am glad I have both
I love that you mention your size... I think we're brothers from another... Mom says "hi"... Skillet
Thanks for watching!
Great review very helpful! I agree with you on the sizing!

Glad you found it helpful. Wish they made it in black for casual wear or for in a ground blind.
Good review, I liked how you went over the features and gave your height and weight and what size you ordered, HUGELY important for a comparison.
Thanks for watching and glad you found it helpful

Looks like a nice piece!! I too have the same issue with Sitka Gear tops XL bottoms large!!
Thanks for watching
Thanks for the review! I was concerned about the sizing. We are almost the same roundness xl will probably fit perfect.
Looks functional and the right weight for hunting in SW Alabama. I'll have one before next season. Thanks for the review.
Glad it was helpful.

@@lessforloans thanks for reminding me. I will probably order one this week.
I love the hoody. It’s my go to piece.

@@DoItThenOutdoors just order one and corrugated pants to match. Should be perfect for SW Alabama.
Awesome review I've been looking at those hoody for a bit. It was between this and the Sawtooth Jacket. Going with the Orgin Hoody!!
Thanks bro
Jason

I’m in upstate South Carolina. Think this and the solitude bibs with maybe a vest to cut the wind on cold days would be good for the whole season?

It won’t hold the burrs but I am sure briars will create pulls in the fabric.
@@DoItThenOutdoors ok, I’ll still consider it as there isn’t a lot out there built for that kind of punishment. Thanks!
Great detailed review. Thanks!
Would you say this is warmer than the Kiln hoodie? Just trying to get a feel for how warm it’ll be for layering purposes.
Thanks for watching. I would say it’s between Kiln and Furnace. Similar to the old catalyst soft shell.
The kiln hoodie is my favorite piece. How do you think this compares in terms of comfort? I know it’s not the same merino wool.

Not familiar with that Sitka coat. I love my catalyst coat and vest from FL
@DoItThenOutdoors understandable
It's a coat from 2016.
I'll try one on at the store.
Curious as to how this held up? Still using it?
It’s still one of my go to items. Absolutely love this hoodie and just wish they made it in black so I could use it in my ground blind and as a casual wear hoodie
hey.... whats that coat you're wearing

Is it lightweight enough to wear in like 50-60 degrees temp?

What size hoodie do you usually wear? XL?
