    I have one of these. I bought mine in May 2024 and runs perfect. zero problems. I did a few mods. Larger air filter, vented filler tube, longer tank drain hose and oil drain extension.

      @michaelbell7465 it functions OK so far, just ridiculous it could ever leave the factory with all those different fittings crossthreaded like they were. Especially on 2 different units. Thanks for watching and commenting, hope you enjoyed the video.

    I'd use some Rectorseal on those threads (yellow pipe dope that works for compressed air and for natural gas as well as water). I've always had good results when using Rectorseal on air fittings.
    What did you decide to do?

    • @hoobsgarage
      @hoobsgarage  5 месяцев назад

      Might try the thread sealer. Still won't help the fact that it was cross threaded and probably ruined the threads though. Thanks for watching and commenting. Will probably return it this weekend

    Thanks for the video. I'm going to purchase one of these as the price is right at Tractor Supply. Now I know what to look at before I load it up.

      No problem glad you enjoyed the video. Last time I was there I checked out another one and it was put together decent from what I could see. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Think this would run a die grinder or air hammer with intermittent use? Hobby guy here who would like to have a die grinder to clean gasket surfaces or even use an air hammer on occasion for rotors.

    • @hoobsgarage
      @hoobsgarage  3 месяца назад +2

      @userx702 I haven't used this one very much yet but it should definitely do it for intermittent use. I used to use a die grinder and air hammer (in short burst on occasion) on my old compressor, way smaller than this one.

    What is the duty cycle on that compressor ? I chose an IR Garagemate because it has a 100% duty cycle.

      No clue. The original plan for the video was to break it in then get the book out and go over the specs. After realizing I had gotten another defective unit the video plans changed lol. Thanks for watching and commenting though I appreciate it.

    Was about to buy this exact compressor. After watching, I’m going with an IR instead.

      @brewsnoop thanks for watching and commenting. im glad you found the video helpful. I will say once all the cross threaded issues were addressed it does function normally but I still say it's ridiculous it ever left the factory in that condition. Thanks again for watching.

    Dewalt definately has quality control issuess on their air compressors; your not alone. I bought the two stage 30 gallon dewalt air compressor last year around this time, started it up for break in and the nut on the flywheel wasn't tightened down and the fly wheel came off. Bent the shaft or fly wheel as it had a horrible wobble after putting the nut on and tightening down. Was considering ordering another one at the time and decided not to after returning the first one.

      @matthewhoffman6520 thanks for watching and commenting and sorry you had problems to. It's unbelievable they let them leave the factory like that. Did you reach out dewalt and tell them about your issues? If so what did they say?

    Has Dewalt seen any of these videos and have any comments. This is not the only video showing cross threading.

    • @hoobsgarage
      @hoobsgarage  3 месяца назад +3

      I specifically sent this video to them. They seemed like they could really care less. Tractor supply was great, I didn't even tell them about the issue with this one I didn't feel like hauling it back and I got that thing put back in there correctly and it's been fine so far. Still pathetic craftsmanship I think though.

      It makes no sense why Dewalt who is owned by Black & Decker makes the big bold sticker statement " Made in America" and have such quality crap. There is no way this should make out of their plant. At least Tractor Supply cares about their customers. Shame Shame Dewalt and Black & Decker.

    Sad that USA assembly people can't even install China parts correctly. It's a disgrace to the American Flag on the Tank. I am in the market for a compressor, and this has made my decision for me. I will pay $1000 + for a 100 % USA made Quincy compressor. Who need the aggravation of returning an item over and over again? I would have left that blow-off valve exactly the way it was and returned it-not exchanged it.

    • @hoobsgarage
      @hoobsgarage  14 дней назад

      @Joe-d1y I wish I would've returned it but I was tired of hauling it back and forth. It was absolutely ridiculous that 2 of them were like that. Who knows how many others are out there. I told dewalt about it and i honestly dont think they cared. Thanks for watching and commenting.
