My Word Ant!! What a ton of work! Greatly enjoyed this video in showing the progression from near ruin to livable home. You are amazing for taking on these projects and as you say essentially alone.
Andries, I have come into your channel arse about face, I thought it was all about a weird guy in Estonia who bought and repaired machinery but as I enjoy your content I am venturing back into your early stuff and although I think you are still a weird guy, your very likeable, very funny and more, very versatile, you’ll have a crack at any thing and you do a great job. Wow, that was so interesting to see how the building was fixed up. You did a great job for your family. Your energy and skills are boundless. Thanks so much for putting this video together - a big job in itself.
The photo stills are a great presentation. It should be done publicly as art and history show! Link it in your channel ,more stuff. Gray zone is great name, we call them mud room or entry way. The old board floor is beautiful and unique. I understand your wanting to use laminate/composite flooring. You have a right to be proud! There are wood structures that are over 800years old. The construction is different. Usually massive timber framing. There are examples of log houses in the USA that are 400yrs old and restored well.
I can see a ton of hard work done and hope that everyone shall be able to enjoy a warmer and much nicer home. Here in alaska, if you have something nice, the taxes just take away all the fun of owning such grandeur so we fix the insides of home to be really nice and the outside looks like a dump to keep the taxes down.
I started out watching this video thinking I will probably skip through it because it is too long. Guess what, I ended up watching all of 1hour, 5 minutes, and 3 seconds of it. Congratulations on achieving your goal. Very beautiful house.
Bonsoir.

Crap, Man Cousin, Cousiness, Bro I got this etc etc. Keep up the good work on your content and here's hoping you increase your subs to 100k by 2023 and beyond. You deserve it. Second all that you have said Colin. I also find your commentary hilarious Ants and I also watch Deisel creek (Matt is also funny) & Andrew Camarata (legend).
I have to be honest Ants, I was left speechless after watching your video. I didn't know how to comment on your incredible hard work and achievements. How can any comment I make do it justice? But here goes - breathtaking, dangerous, inspirational, relentless, creative, ingenious, exhausting, monumental, miraculous, ........
What a great video.May your past relatives rest with great pride,at what has been accomplished. And all your family treasure what you have. Thanks for sharing with us!
You did an amazing job! All that hard work, blood sweat and tears put into it surely payed off - it’s impressive! . I loved hearing about the history and seeing the before and after photos. How awesome it is that you were able to renovate this home that holds so many memories for you and your family. Thank you for sharing! God bless 💕 Ps., I absolutely love the wood on that staircase!
AP...the incredible amount of hard work and dedication can only be matched by your creative solutions to seemingly insurmountable problems. Well done! You've created a beautiful home for yourself and for your family.
Thank you, i love problem-solving, even if my solutions r not the best, but i do like it. Glad i got it this far by now. Got tons of little ones running around in the family now and it's great that they visit the old farmhouse more and more although they don't live there.
This really is an enormous amount of hard work. I remember doing things like this when I was much younger. I no longer have the ambition to take on big projects but your hard work inspires me to finish some of my little projects. Keep it up for as long as you can! I am not surprised that you have a regular job in addition to this. I don't know if you have revealed what it is that you do in another video but I hope that your employer's appreciate the hard worker they have
Glad i have inspired you to finish off some of your project :) Yes i have a day-job as well, work at a local plywood/veneer factory as a shift supervisor/foreman, its a relaxing job, until something breaks 😂. I never said anything to my co-workers about my YT channel, but they have found out about me some way or another by now.
Wonderful video! You answered so many questions I've had about your beautiful home. Was sad to hear your father passed away. While he was here, he must have been so proud of you. I had a few tears when you spoke of visiting as a child and how you got so excited before each visit. Was great to see your mother, she's very pretty. I love how you saved so many original features, especially that fire wall. It's stunning. Very impressed how you saved all the exterior walls and managed to get the roof so even. The amount of concrete you mixed...OMG! I'm not surprised the video took you 2 months. Good that you saved so many "before" images, and your effort to put everything together was a monumental construction job in itself! Your narration, as always, was perfect. I really, really enjoyed this video. You are an exceptional craftsman, and a very special man. I wish I could meet you some day over a cup of Estonian tea...or whatever you drink there. Thank you for all your hard work and sharing your dream.
Wow! What a BIG job! You have a tremendous work ethic!! I replaced the entire outer wall of my first house, using hydraulic jacks to support about 4 feet at a time - but my house was small and already on a concrete slab - and I did not have to work on the roof. I didn't think I would ever get done with it! Yours was well over 10 times the work, maybe 20 times! You are the man! Where I live, we have wood-eating insects called "termites", and they had eaten part of the wall - this is what got me started. And we have rats with fluffy tails that climb the trees (squirrels) and the rats had ruined the siding by chewing on it.
Ahh man the amount of work does not matter 😅 any work on old buildings any work that benefits it is good 😅. We don't have thermites here. Climate would kill them yearly
Excellent video as usual. So sorry to hear you lost your dad. I lost mine in 1994 to cancer. He wasn’t always the best dad but I loved him and still miss him.
It is amazing that you still have working shoulders, elbows, wrists, knees and a good back after all that, holy shit!!!! I do love your stairs too, they’re beautiful. The second story is nothing short of amazing work. The roof, yes, that gigantic wonder of the world....what a feat you conquered that, you really did, huge amount of total respect for you, that’s unbelievable!!!!!! Thanks so much for the wonderful construction and demo history of your home!
Thanks Nena, yeah health has been pretty good apart from some gerd problems, but thanks to a gerd surgery that has been sorted out now nicely :) Glad you enjoyed it.
Your "absolute nightmare" was my great and interesting entertainment. Thank you for sharing. You can be very proud of your achievements and sacrifices for your family.
Awesome change! Your farmhouse is beautiful now and it shows that you spent a lot of time working there! Congratulations!! I loved seeing the whole process. Thanks for sharing this beautiful video👍.
This is the best video you have done! The pictures, storytelling, quality, tempo, jokes (cusiness😂) are all on great! It really gives an explanation to why you have the mill, the tractor and the excavator. And it explains your skill in renovating the other log house, all the mistakes were already made in the main house!😉 Truly inspiring and reminds me a great deal about my favorite videos from Andrew Camarata.
Wonderful improvements. That all was a lot of work. Thank goodness that your family helped you. Even if someone just cooked meals or brought out drinks. You are very talented and resourceful. I love watching your videos. Thank you for sharing.

I’ve been watching your channel for a while now because of your sense of humor and work ethic, I had no idea you were so dedicated to your family and carrying on the traditions of your grandparents. Very proud of you and looking forward to future videos.
You’re work ethic is outstanding. You’ve achieved a truly incredible thing by restoring this old house. I’m sure your grandparents would be very proud of you. You are a true inspiration and an incredibly talented craftsman. I enjoy your videos very much so thank you for all the effort you put into them. 👏🏻🇦🇺🌺🌴
Hello Ants, again due to your relentless determination and hard graft you have achieved what most of us would never attempted, your Grandfather would have been so proud of your achievement thank you for sharing.👍👍💪🍻
Great video! Thanks for taking the time to create a video from photos, to show the journey of all your work to transform the farmhouse. Its really impressive to see all you have achieved, largely by yourself, with a limited budget and limited equipment. It looks great, and its good that your are preserving all the old buildings on the farm, rather than pulling or letting them fall down, and putting up modern characterless versions. Love your videos and your humour, keep them coming!

Ps., I absolutely love the wood on that staircase!
Thanks for watching, me too i like it very much, it's a bit steep but hey i love it too much to change it out :)
You are an amazing hard working man with a passion for what you do and endless energy 🔋. 👍👍👍👍👍
I appreciate that!
The work that has gone into making this video is amazing...
this was a long one yeah
Is this anything you cant do ? ? A am amazed . You are not afraid for anything and the result is 100 % ! Keep up the good work Mr Ant !
Well i am afraid of one thing :D and that's releasing new videos, get like a little panic everything i release one, but other then that all is good 👍🤣
Absolutely marvelous job on everything! Unbelievable that you did 90-95% of the work! Wow! Rhonda & Len😮
Thank you! Cheers!
What a cool history of your major renovation/rebuild
Thank you very much!
Thanks David. tea, beer, cup of coffee , water, whatever that goes down and doesn't kill me if fine by me 🤣
Very impressive that you achieved over 10 years and also your home and your humor. Keep up to good work
It was a wild ride. Now im looking how to improve
He wasn’t always the best dad but I loved him and still miss him.
sorry to hear that :/
You have a beautiful house and to think your grandparents owned it before, you can be proud!
Thanks
You are a man who sees solutions, not problems. Your never give up attitude is extraordinary. What a legacy you are leaving for the future.
😉👌
*- At **34:12** looks like a coat room that might where you take off muddy boots, too. In New England states they often call it the Mud Room.*
Here direct translation would be wind chamber or house 😂 the mud room makes much more sense in english
Wow. Can't imagine how much work that was! I admire your skill, power, and endurance! Looks beautiful now!
Thank you so much!
Your Grandfather would be very proud of the work that you did to his/your house! Great job Bro..
I appreciate that!
Your "absolute nightmare" was my great and interesting entertainment. Thank you for sharing. You can be very proud of your achievements and sacrifices for your family.
Glad you enjoyed it!
It is inspiring to see how much work you put into renovating the house. This is a new threshold for tenacity in one-man construction.
Lol 😂 thanks a bunch 👍
Awesome change! Your farmhouse is beautiful now and it shows that you spent a lot of time working there! Congratulations!! I loved seeing the whole process. Thanks for sharing this beautiful video👍.
No problem! Thanks for watching buddy
Glad you enjoyed it!
Brother you do amazing work
You really are very talented

Wonderful improvements. That all was a lot of work. Thank goodness that your family helped you. Even if someone just cooked meals or brought out drinks. You are very talented and resourceful. I love watching your videos. Thank you for sharing.

You are a true inspiration and an incredibly talented craftsman. I enjoy your videos very much so thank you for all the effort you put into them. 👏🏻🇦🇺🌺🌴
Thank you libby!
Hello Ants, again due to your relentless determination and hard graft you have achieved what most of us would never attempted, your Grandfather would have been so proud of your achievement thank you for sharing.👍👍💪🍻
Many thanks, Well said
Great video!
Thanks Tony! I agree
