  • Don't have a template? Here is one way to quickly to get a decent (usable) outline template. kazumakinoshita... Cardboard works fine for quick templates and can be cut out with scissors.

Would love to see a tutorial on how to use spin templates properly

How to use a spin template is a great topic because how it meets can drastically change the ride of the board.

Glad to see you're making videos again. Maybe show us how to scale those templates up/down (i.e. how to make a 6-2 and/or a 5-10 from a 6' template)? What material do you use for templates?

I will. Make that video. I use Divinycell high density foam. It's really expensive but is so easy to work with that it eliminates any excuse for me not to make the ideal template. I also use cardboard for extra large templates.

I’ve always wondered... this “spin templates” you use, don’t have a center line reference... do you keep the curve just for reference and the with always depends on the specific board you’re making? There’s no magic number, for that matter you’d make a specific template so that you can recreate a specific board... is that correct??

It really is no difference than a full template but it is easier to make variations to the length and width. I do have to mark the center width so I know where to align the template.
