- Do you ever have a creative block? This week I was on the struggle bus since I was coming off a huge show…Antique Acres. The prep, set up, event and takedown did a number on my creative juices!!
I forced myself to create and it was good for my creative soul!! I went into my inventory and pulled out a few pieces and started to brainstorm and create!
These are quick and easy thrift flips but sometimes that’s all an item needs!
I can't wait to hear what you guys think!

I am one of those you kill when you cover a vintage book. Why not just get a Dollar Tree book and cover it? It’s very cute but 😢. Love the tray and basket!!!
These book that I buy for my projects would end up at the dump or landfill if I didn’t take them home. I’m sorry you feel that way, but I would rather give them a second chance instead of letting them sit in a landfill.

Yes…offer your stuff! Why not…you already have the shipping down…a part of me wishes I would ship…but I just like my little hobby booth🤣. Loved watching you use the papers…did that myself today too( papers I ordered from you😁). I have a lot to learn…good thing rustic is in cuz I had a hard time…tried water cutting…that did not work…just keep trying Kim…just keep trying😳😳😳…glad to see you just get out the scissors! Hi Sonnet, I recently started to use DIY paint. Before I was using Dixie Bell. WOW are they different. I find that when I put down my 2nd layer of DIY if there is any texture on the first, the new paint takes off some of the first on the high points....sort of like wet distressing by painting on the 2nd coat......what am I doing wrong?
You aren’t doing anything wrong. DIY paint is going to reactivate when it gets wet. It has to be completely dry before placing the next layer which is easy to tell because it turns a lighter color when it’s dry. You can also use a fine sand paper to take down any bumps from the first coat before placing the next coat on. You want to use lighter brush strokes on the second coat. I hope this helps. 😊
I think you should add some thrift flips to your web site. There may be a project someone absolutely loves and wants to buy it. I just bought a set of drawers from JRV because I could not fine any at the thrift store. I didn’t remember they were going to paint it. It was yellow on the website, It was like Christmas when it came because it was painted and stamped and I absolutely love it! I don’t do that often but I might buy from you as well. Although I am coming to your October event so I am hoping to buy something of yours.

Growing up in the 50's I learned to revere books so it does bother me that so many people now use them for purely decorative purposes, but the one you did today was very attractive 🥰
