Yay! Thank you!
When you mentioned tole painting that brought such a good memory back for me in the 80s I believe I took a several week tole painting class that was so much fun one project I made was kind of like a 3D wooden house that said home sweet home I love how you do the little stool but I could see tole painting on that too
I used to love tole painting!! :) Thank you!
I prefer wax, also. To be sure transfers stick, I lightly give my projects a spray of rustoleum clear matte. Very light coat. My transfers always stick, and I wax over everything. Little stool was cute. Good call to not dark wax.
Thanks for sharing ❤
Thank you so much!! :)
I liked the copper looking color.

Nice job Rachel🌸💖
Thank you so much!
Hey Rachel! Happy Friday! Love the white wax on the weathered wood paint. That combo is perfect. The prairie grey, copper, dark wax turned those little shelves into little show pieces. Gorgeous! I almost wonder if the rinsing made the difference? Anyway, that little stool is just adorable. The gold going up the handle and in front of the step really made the difference. The little flowers on the legs are super cute. For this piece I am glad you didn't use the dark wax. Can't wait to see the nursery and the reveal. I died laughing when you said "simple makeovers", then when I try to do this, I end up with something that a kinder would throw away. LOL Your spring top looked so pretty. Did you guys get some decent rain? We got a nice couple of showers yesterday, it was needed even with irrigation being on. Bet this weekend is going to be more relaxed than last weekend. Anyway, have a great weekend and will see you again on Tuesday!
Thanks so much Shanna! I love white wax over weathered wood - definitely one of my favorites! :)
White wax over the candlestick color is beautiful, thinking about buying that color!!
Thank you!! :) It is amazing the difference it makes!!
I don’t know if you’ve used it, but Fusion paint has a primer and sealer built in so you don’t have to worry about sealing a piece before applying a transfer. I find it preferable to chalk paints for that reason.
DIY also has paints with the sealer built in. It definitely makes transfers easier. :)
I didn't see the jrv version, but luv the copper shelves
I'm glad you liked them! Thank you!
❤❤❤❤❤
:)
Loved your stool , was wondering about your kitty cat, is he okay?❤
I'm glad you liked the stool! :) And yes, my kitty is fine. :)
❤❤❤
:)
*Rachel, my favorite project today is the children's stool with the clematis stencils on it...I am very glad you didn't use the dark wax on it❣️💚🤍 You're right; it would have muddied the Crinoline color paint you used. This way, it looks Spring-like, and ready for a little child to sit on it and listen with rapt attention to a wonderful story during story time❣️📚 💙💚🤍 I also liked 👍🏼 the Pennies From Heaven finish with the dark wax on the wall half-shelves. They would look so nice with a vintage teacup and saucer and a little sprig of greenery displayed on them in a kitchen or dining room. 😊 As you know, gray is a color I HATE, so I wouldn't have painted the pillar candlesticks the Weathered Wood color - BUT I wanted you to know what a nice job you did with them - adding the white wax finished them nicely. You did a great job; they are a beautiful style. I just would have painted them a different color - like Melted Chocolate or Gypsy Green 🫒. However, just because I would have chosen a different color, doesn't mean I can't admire the beautiful finish you achieved painting and waxing them, Rachel. 🤪😉 Have a great weekend, and I will see you on next Tuesday❣️😁💚*
I am glad you liked the little stool - I hemmed and hawed for quite a while trying to figure out what I wanted to do with that little thing, lol!! And I am not much of a fan of grey either - I like the weathered wood because it has just enough brown in it to not be "too" grey. :) Anyway - thank you!! :)
What was the last project used for originally! It turned out so cute!! I’m glad you didn’t put dark wax on it!
I think it's meant to just be a little footstool. :) Thank you!!
❤
:)
The stool was my favorite. Where did you get your top, it’s so pretty.
I'm glad you liked the little stool! :) Thank you!! And I think I got that top at Torrid . . ? lol
I loved them all! I have Weathered Wood paint and have been waiting to use it, now that I've seen it, I am going to get it out... Is it a bit more brown than what your camera picked up?
Glad you liked all of them! Thank you! And Weathered Wood does have some brown to it . . . it's a beautiful color. :)
I just started using the DIY waxes . I have the white, dark and clear . My question is do I have to wash the brush after using them ? I do have a different one for each wax , but just not sure if I should be washing the brushes.
I would definitely wash them between uses so that the wax doesn't harden in your bristles. Honestly I store my brushes in about 1/4 inch of mineral spirits and I change out the spirits when it gets dirty.
I love all..but stool was a wow..but what is the stool for..I don't know what it's used for..the handle throws me off...lol
Thank you!! :) And the stool is just a footstool and the handle is there so you don't have to bend down to move it. Hopefully whoever buys it won't use it for that purpose though - it would totally ruin the paint, lol.
No matter what you do to those shelves, they will always look like they're made of plastic...ugh
Sorry you think they look plastic. They are actually mdf, lol.
