Loved both of these diys. U have a great eye for taking trash to treasure! I love thrifting, but sometimes get stuck & can't see beyond what it is...instead of what it could be. ❤
17:06 Absolutely beautiful pieces!!!!!! It would be a beautiful gift for someone if you took a blank journal and decorated it the way you did the book.
I really enjoyed both of these projects. The book vase is really unique and beautiful. But I’m partial to the construction project. Love to watch you build things. The greenhouse stand is lovely.
New subscriber here. I’m new to IOD molds and transfers on my channel but I love it so much. I love that wax you used I so need to pick that up. ❤❤❤TFS
Welcome!! Those IOD products are soooooo addicting!😂 I started using them a few years ago and I'm a little sad about some of the ones I missed out on back then because I didn’t realize they were a limited edition 😩
Gah! The terrarium and base....I love it so much! I admit, I was hoping you wouldn't paint those amazing chippy legs, but what a beautiful project. Next, the book....I'm definitely going to do that. I have quite a few vintage books I want to makeover. So creative, turning it into a vase.
Thank you so much 😀 I hated to paint over it too but it was flaking so much and I was worried about the lead paint. I didn’t know how well I could make it be cohesive with the rest of the wood pieces so I just opted to paint the entire thing. It's a tragedy I know.😁
Thank you! 😊 I get ideas from everything. Sometimes just putting things into my craft stash and organizing them you can accidentally make good marriages with some of the items that you didn’t even think about to begin with.😂
@@Peppercreekcottage can you tell me more about your nail gun? Brand, cost, where you got it and how you like it? That looks like a game changer! Do you have a link to it for credit for yourself?
@@tamigarcia2219 It's a 16 guage Ryobi cordless nail gun I purchased from Home Depot. I've had it for several years and I paid less than $200 for the tool and battery pack. I'm not sure what the price is today because the battery pack and chargers seem to be more expensive than the tool itself anymore.😁 I don't have any affiliate links for any of the products I use so you can purchase them from wherever you can get the best price. Thanks!
@@Peppercreekcottage well thank you! It looks like a worthy investment with the speed and seemingly effortless execution of securing a nail appears to be in your video! Lol Happy Moms day to me! 😉 Appreciate you taking the time to share the info ☺️
How creative. I was heavily into crafting videos, a few years ago, but I stopped watching them because I couldn’t take another video of someone painting a dollar tree plaque, slapping an IOD transfer (or even a dollar tree sticker🤪😵💫) and a bow on them and calling it finished🥱🥱🥱. I just started watching Canterbury Cottage again, and your video popped up, what a gift you have, very similar to Sherry, in that you completely transform something. I even went back and watched a few of the other channels, but they’re still painting a plaque and adding an IOD transfer and a bow, or just painting a resin statue to look like cement. I can’t watch that anymore. Those channels have millions of subs, I don’t understand how people enjoy watching the same videos over and over. Maybe it is my artistic brain that says “nope,” I don’t know what it is, but I can’t watch them anymore. 😬😬 I love some of the creators who make those projects, but I can’t watch that type of video anymore. I have so much stuff here, at my home, thrifted and dollar tree junk from watching the videos that I had to stop. I was also learning how to do graphic design and such things as that, as well, and that took up much of my time, so I didn’t have time to watch the crafting videos anymore, either, but coming back, after two years, to the same old stuff, I can’t watch it. So, thank you, for doing something different. I still don’t get all the IOD stuff. It’s beautiful, don’t get me wrong, but it’s so overused by everyone. I would never put an IOD transfer onto a boring project, I wouldn’t want to waste the money because I am cheap. 😂 Two years ago I didn’t have the money to buy IOD transfers, so it made the videos even more pointless to watch. However, now that I do have the money, I also know how to do graphic design, quite well now, so I would just make my own things, I can print them on tissue paper and cut them out, or use my Cricut. There really isn’t any reason for me to purchase over priced stuff, now, but I see why people do it, it is easier, but, to me, the transfers just appear to be a sticker, but there aren’t many paint inlays to choose from, which would make it look more natural and painted, and now you can get all that stuff so cheap from Temoooooo (I know it’s spelled wrong). 😂 Anyway, thank you, for letting me rant and for sharing your good ideas with us. Both of these were so creative, but the book…😍😍
Thank you! I'm ok with the rant because I agree with some of it. I buy some of the IOD because I like the designs of some of them (not all) , and because I'm cheap as well🤭 , I totally agree that anyone could design their own and have it look as good or better than what's offered in the crafting world. I hope my videos aren’t making people think they have to use the IOD products but hopefully getting them to think about what they could use instead if that makes sense.😁
@@PeppercreekcottageOh no, please don’t think that is what I think of your videos. I love your videos, you are so creative and you use the IOD products in a beautiful way, in the way they were intended, really. You’re also not sitting here promoting the products in every single video. Those channels went from being dollar tree videos where they had to use their imagination and creativity to make something to just painting a dollar tree product and just slapping the IOD transfer on them, forgetting about their audience, and just becoming an ad for IOD products, DIY Paint, Fusion Paint, etc. Every one of their videos has become the same old thing, your videos are different and it is so refreshing to see you actually make beautiful home decor, that I would want to display in my home, and showing people that they don’t need to be afraid of power tools. So please, keep doing what you do, your channel is one of the best I have seen. I also like how you get to the point and don’t have non stop endless chatter.
I’ve said it before but you are truly an artist!! I love watching you and can’t wait until your next video! Your projects are unique and always beautiful!! Thank you
I took maybe 1/3 or less of the total book pages out. It probably doesn’t matter if you take less out. I would just remove however many pages that will let your book stay open easier with the can in place is how I did it.
I like both ideas for the bòk vase, but why waste the time and supplies for the back of the book that will never be seen? That said..i will make the vase..just not the cover.
Thank you! Since I added the moulds to the book cover it sits unlevel on my table so the bag of popcorn is being used to level it out underneath.Less rocking when I added the transfers. I hope that makes sense.
The question is - to rescue or not? You rescued the small brass plates and created something new. No one else rescued them and I can't say they were worth anything unless you took them to scrap metal or they ended up in the landfill! So people need to stop with their opinions. You know the old saying, opinions are like buttholes!
Book/vase is totally impractical and a waste of time...the table is bulky and looks like it would easily topple over.....for all the time put into your projects I would think you could come up with something better..truth be told.
Well to each his own. Perhaps this channel is not for you. I'm making these projects for my own home and they are actually working out quite well.
