    Highly recommend Peperomia obtusifolia! My girl Gylfie loves hers and sleeps on it every day. They have large thick leaves that can easily support the weight of an adult crestie, and thick stems that become like vines over time. They're easy to find (got mine at Walmart for $5) and easy to grow (can handle over- and under-watering, I can testify!). Really a great vivarium plant.

    If your buying bromeliads buy them before they have the big pretty flower on them that doesn’t happen till the end of their lives so if you buy it already blooming just know it’s time is limited some species will last for years after blooming some only a couple months at most

    lol my crestie killed his bird nest fern by using it as a crash pad. currently the only plants in with my cresties that aren't silk, are pothos. i've got a few varieties for variation of color

    Thanks for making that list! I'll add the wandering jew for the tanks too. It adds both green and purple and is easy to grow. Just cut them back every couple of months and you are good to go. Any one can grow those.

    Great video again! A video idea popped into my head watching this. I don't know if you have any Ikea's near you, but if you do come up to MN for Build off 2024, there is an Ikea near the airport and not too far from SD. It would be great to see a walk through of their plants, both live and faux and how they could fit into different enclosures. I was able to get a really good and not too spendy haul during my last run. I also grabbed their cork desk mats to try as a background for a couple of my enclosures. Easy to cut to fit and since I wasn't 100% sure if they were safe to have inside the enclosure, I used double sided sticky tape that's reusable to secure them from the outside. Jury's still out on if I'll keep it but my cresties love feeling more secure with 3 sides of the glass covered. 🥰

      Ooooh love that! I haven't been to ikea in about 12 years when I lived in Maryland. 😅
      I think the closest one to me is about 3 hours away in Memphis, but that is definitely something I could do in the future. I used to love going to ikea!

    Good morning! I had a fake plant with my beardie for years. He never touched it until the last few months. Leaves were knocked off, and some leaves had noticeable nibbles. Are the recommended plants OK for nibbles?

    • @ellesreptiles
      @ellesreptiles  Год назад +1

      Sansev, Pothos, and Draceana are ok if only a little are eaten, but since beardies do tend to eat the plants in their enclosures, I'd suggest getting things that they can eat a lot of. So things like aloe plants, spineless cactus, and pots of herbs/veggies are great 💜

    My grandmothers could take a stick & put it in the ground & rose would be blooming by spring . My mother can keep that stick going . I have too long of a honey do list to keep anything going . As long as you can keep plants alive in the house you are good . I know how my grandma did the stick thing but it's time & timing &:when to touch & when not to & the moon phase & now we know why we call some women witches good thing we are not burning witches now . Be happy you can keep them alive in your house
