He did a meatloaf a while back to where he sautéed mushrooms, onions and garlic before mixing it in. I used that recipe and it was just amazing. You’ll have to check it out!
I don’t understand how more people do not watch Ry?! You have the best channel on RUclips and I have made a lot of the recipes and each one is just amazing. There is definitely a learning curve but it is worth the time.
This was my favorite food that my mom made when I was growing up. I’ll tell you the secret to better meatloaf. Here in eastern Kentucky the best meatloaf has oats instead of bread crumbs. It’s a world of difference and you’ll notice it immediately
Not just Kentucky. My Gram and my Mom and now me, all use oats in our meatloaf. We live in Pa. To me what makes it better is the flavor. Oats just taste better than bread, to me that is. They also seem to hold it all together better too. I've tried all the usual suspect binders and my favorite are oats soaked in just a little milk and an egg or two depending on how much ground meat I'm using.
A good description for that is it's like a bacon wrapped meaty Christmas present. It's got the best of both worlds. Lots of bacon goodness on the outside and a succulent and flavourful meatloaf on the inside. Cheers, Ry! 👍👍✌️
I wish you had used a meat thermometer to show what the temp is after the carryover cooking has peaked. I would be surprised if it didn't hit 165. I think people don't consider carryover cooking enough. Everyone is paranoid that you have to take your food off when it hits the FDA temperature for the meat being cooked.
Mi there Ry, the Mrs can't eat Mushrooms, gives her a tummy ache, so what would you put in place of the Mushrooms? I love meatloaf and that looks deliciously awesome!!
This Meatloaf looks supremely delicious and hearty. Great content as always my friend. Cheers!
One of my favorite things to do when making meatloaf is to sauté the onions before mixing them in. Let them soften and start to brown

Great idea Ry. Can’t wait till next weekend.
Thank you !
I doubt I'll ever do a meatloaf in the oven again. I do mine on the Weber kettle also.
That meatloaf looks great. What kind of tray did you cook it on?
Looks good RY
Im totally gonna make this. 🍻🍻🔥❤
Hi RY, I am curious about your roasting rack. I did not see it listed.
I actually grabbed that in the BBQ section of Home Depot a few years ago. I think it was about $15.
@@CookingWithRy Thanks so much for the information Ry. It's time to get geared up for the holidays for cooking, I'm excited.
What was that roasting rack/tray that you placed the meatloaf on?
I grabbed that at Home Depot years ago in the BBQ section.
As much as I enjoy your show I just can't watch it cause it's makes me hungry... lol
Yum! Just what I need! 🔥
Approximately how much time was it on the grill?
I don't really track time when I'm going for a internal temp, but a rough estimate would be 90 minutes to 2 hours.
@@CookingWithRy Nice,thanks Ry👍
Perfection!
Looks delicious👍😊
My wife makes individual loaves and cooks them on cast iron. We all get more crust that way.

You could just leave them out or substitute something like chopped up cauliflower.
My goooooodness!!!!
Looks great, what was the cook time on the Webber? Thanks
I don't really track the time when I'm aiming for a temp.
Fair enough, going to give it a go tomorrow so just wanted a rough idea. Think the kids are going to love it!
@@CookingWithRy Do you have an estimated time. I want to try as well but am wondering how much time to allow.
I needed this
not a fan of bacon wrapped meat loaf. but under the bacon is true magic. nice jog Ry.
