If someone ever drags this horse down to the 3/4 in 1:18 I believe he'll go in 45 and a piece. Don't take this horse for granted. In history we won't see many more like him. He's a true freak. Enjoy him while we can. I get goose bumps every time I watch him go.
What a monster!!! Horses like him come along every 20 years or so...He might be in a league of his own though...Never seen a horse do it with such ease
still cant understand why so many people had a hate on for this horse...cuz he skipped the Jug?...if thats the reason then hate MacGrath not the horse...booked plans to the Jug myself and was pissed he wasnt gonna be there...but the Jug wasnt in there plan...all the bullshit that he was dodging Art Official is just ignorance....to all the haters out there i hate to break it to you but you might have seen the best of all time.,,in doubt?...check the Mead Pace final and the OSS Superfinal...
@themightyeythain IMO... and I'm Australian (awaiting the birth of both a mare in foal to Christian Cullen and a mare in foal to Somebeachsomewere), Christian Cullen for raw talent is the bst horse I've seen. He may not have been able to match it with this horse over a mile but anything over 2000m.... CC was the greatest. JMO.
@themightyeythain It's really not that different. Aside from the NZ Cup what are the other big 2 m races? I guess the best form line could be drawn through Mr Feelgood, who was a classic winning juvi in the states & paced 1:49 at 3. I think any of the Miracle Mile runners could run sub 1:50. In the mile Ruthmussen got away with a 29.2 2nd qter. She only had to run 28.5 ro run a 1:49.5 She did that to win the race. No-one gets the $300K for leading them up & letting someone else run a fast time.
Greatest Standardbred racehourse in history. I got goose bumps when I watched this race.

I'm a huge fan of the horse (and the driver for that matter) but the best of all time!? I don't think so. IMO Niatross stands alone in that category.
is he the best ever?...let the debate rage on....
jug????bum
