JT, I absolutely love your Chanels and everything you do from the sub briefs to the gameplay. You are one of the best suited content creators working with Sea Power at the moment, your real-world experience and expansive knowledge allow you to create incredibly detailed intricate scenarios, and you are very good about knowing what you want your units to do.
That being said, there's still a few thing that I feel you could benefit from learning more about when it comes to Sea Power, particularly with your management of aircraft.
You keep you planes way to low. For strike aircraft it extends the range of the aircraft because they burn less fuel at altitude due to decreased air resistance. It increases the range of missiles fired from those platforms to to the allowed increase in energy.
You also keep your fighters way to close to the deck. Your tomcats were trying to engage targets at altitudes of over 50,000 feet while being far below that themselves, sometimes below 10,000. This does not work well. Tomcats in particular love to be up high, it's where their AIM-54s can do the most work.
And in a more general sense: I feel like you are over-utilising the "Weapons Free" command. When you give a unit this command, they can and will ignore other orders given while they are in this stance, including oreded changes in heading, altitude, speed or target. Surface ships also tend to be pretty pore about munitions management when in this state, although I feel like that has improved somewhat. I would really only have my ships I this state when defending from AShMs, and return them to "Weapons Tight" as soon as the threat has been eliminated.

Would love to see you use every trick in the book you know in a mission with your boat vs a good chunk of the RUS/USSR Pacific fleet. Always love listening to those with real life experience. It seems real world capability is actually much higher than advertised😉

A quick historical note about the Talos. The first variants of the Talos entered service in the late 1950s-early '60s. They were retired from the fleet as SAMs in 1980 with the decommissioning of the USS Albany CG-10, the last ship in the fleet to have a Talos Launcher. Their role was taken by the RIM-67 (SM-1ER and SM-2ER). USS Oklahoma City CG-5 Fired the last RIM-8 from a US Navy Warship on 1 Nov 1979. (There is actually a picture of this missile being fired!) The "Okie Boat" herself was decommissioned just over a month later on 15 December 1979 in San Diego.
She remained in reserve for another 20 years, so in this scenario I suppose she's been reactivated yet again. The Talos missiles themselves remained in the US Navy's inventory until 2008 (albeit modified as target drones), so they could definitely be re-equipped.

If you have your camera tracking an aircraft as it is moved to the hanger, I believe it will show the hanger, as well as stored aircraft and the selected aircraft joining them.

The game looks freaking awesome, but they seem to have a ton of bugs to iron out before release.
But I’ll gladly pay for an early release to sponsor the devs just because how cool it is to finally have a game like Sea power.

"I say it how I read it."
Absolutely the same. I had two huge embarrassments from the same book. The first embarrassment is that I actually read this book, with the second being my horrible pronunciation of a character's name. In the Twilight books, the doctor/dad of vampires (God that sounds weird) is named Carlisle. I pronounced it out loud as "car-lis-ay" only to find out from the movie adaptation they it's just an alternate spelling of "Carlyle."

Please stop setting everything to weapons free. This is why they, the ships and aircraft, don't follow your commands and/or get out of formation with no other commands and won't return or do anything else that you tell them. They over ride your commands. Keep them Weapons tight and then tell them what to engage, with what weapon. Notice how the few times you do that like with submarines, they do exactly as you request? This will happen when anything is designated hostile. If nothing is designated hostile, they will act as if they are weapons tight/hold.
Also, please use a different loadout on the F-14. If you use Air to Air Intercept, they get 4 Phoenix's instead of just 1.

ideas for scenarios battle los AngelesU-87
On June 12, 1942, U-87 mined the entrance to Boston Harbor, but the placement was poor and no ships were sunk.
    U-215
In the summer of 1942, U-215 was sunk by the British warship HMS Le Tiger while on a mission to lay mines in Boston Harbor. The wreck was not discovered until 2004.
    U-1105
This U-boat is a popular dive site in the Potomac River in Southern Maryland.
    U-853
On May 5, 1945, U-853 torpedoed and sank the collier Black Point off Newport, Rhode Island. The U-boat's intact hull is now a popular dive site in 130 feet of water off Block Island.

U-202: This U-boat landed four German saboteurs at the far eastern tip of Long Island.
U-584: This U-boat deployed four German saboteurs at Ponte Vedra Beach, south of St. Augustine, Florida.. this is all i could find via google heard of while in navy 90s and was like wow heard of boston and maryland but didnt know the subs where that close to shore theirs a account of coastal artillery taking out sub in both maryland and rhode island absolutely blew my mind locally during ww1 was military base that was worryed about german balloons and shot out into the night! they where protecting railroad and explosive manufacturing facility and was told their was possibly live ordnance in area

The game won’t be going into WW2.
There are other cool scenarios though, considering modding will be focussed on bringing in modern and Cold War units.
      1) Soviet invasion of Norway 1990, after Gorbachev’s arrest.
      2) US naval clashes against the Russian Navy following the flashpoint of the Third World War in 2010-2019
      3) Operation Praying Mantis ii 1998. The US Navy once again battles the Iranian forces, following an Iranian assault on Israel.
      4) The 1995 Taiwan Strait Crisis turns ugly, as Chinese forces shoot down an S-3 Viking.
      5) Kuril Islands 2002
      6) Suspecting Iranian involvement in the 1983 Beirut Barracks bombings, in 1987, the US Navy launches an amphibious invasion of Iran.
      7) Within the Baltic, NATO forces are put to the test against renegade Russian Naval forces in 1994.

I know you were getting into DCS once upon a time and I checked in very loosly only back then- we were even once on a server at the same time but only for a couple minutes. Did you get 'burned' playing it? I get that vibe from the way you talk about it. I had something much longer typed out but the short version is: That's a real shame because there is another much more chill, much more fun focused way to play it that's a lot closer to how you used to play Cold Waters and I think the crowd you were surrounded with was very high pressure and very vocal, but they are a *minority* of the total playerbase who are much more chill overal.
We have fun with our pretend planes where I fly. P-51 Mustang flying at like 5ft to attack a SAM site? You bet! Do something stupid that rips the wings off your Hornet? Do it again! That shit's hilarious! There's a pretty large group of players where fun and particularly enjoying the learning process at your own pace is the #1 priority.
Oh I don't know what you think of your skills but *you* can be good at DCS too, I've never met someone who I couldn't teach to get good at the game at least on a "can use all the capabilities well" level yet. Only the hardcore realism procedure stuff tends to be harder to learn, and frankly most of that isn't very enjoyable and can be cut out in most missions.

To be fair, he's not doing it in a particularly effective way. While JT is great at knowing what he should be doing in most situations and has a wealth of real-world experience, he is still learning aspects of the game. I would check out Wolfpack 345's Sea Power videos to see a more efficient play style.
